Chapter 4 Clara and Dogs Can Not Enter
“Grandma!” Clara Rowan screamed and at once ran out to call the doctor.
She saw the doctor send her grandma to the emergency room, and tears came out of her eyes. She
started pacing back and forth in the corridor.
If something happened to grandma, she wouldn’t forgive herself!
Very quickly her grandma was pushed out of the emergency room, her face covered by a breathing
mask.
The doctor told her, “The patient’s heartbeat has stabilized, but she needs to be treated with drugs. The
drugs to be used for her are special and exceedingly rare. You have to pay first before we can use
them. “
“Okay, thank you.” Seeing that her grandma was okay, Clara breathed a sigh of relief and hurried
downstairs to settle the bill.
But when she swiped her card, she found that all her cards had been frozen.
Clara called Ruby Leke and, full of anxiety, said: “Ruby, can you help me ask Steve why my cards have
been frozen. My grandmother needs money......”
“Clara, have you forgotten?” Ruby Leke cut her off coldly, “You left with nothing.”
Without waiting for her to respond, she hung up the phone.
Clara choked up, thinking of grandmother and the money she needed to buy the medicine. Without
hesitation, she took a taxi to ARCTIC.
She wanted to find Steve and ask why he wanted to seize ARCTIC from her.
Why was he so ruthless? And why, just because of a single mistake, did he divorce her without leaving
her a single penny?
It was raining heavily when the taxi arrived at ARCTIC.
Clara rushed into the rain and towards the building. She wanted to go in, but the security guard at the
door pushed her to the ground.
“Please, let me in. I want to see Steve Lane......” She got up and clutched the security guard’s arm. The
rain made her face pale. “I need money to buy medicine, otherwise my grandmother will die.......”
The security guard once again pushed Clara away and held a sign in front of her. “Ms. Rowan, please
open your eyes and look at the sign!”
She wiped away the rain on her face.
She saw a few words written on the sign: Clara Rowan and dogs are not allowed in!
“Steve Lane, how have I wronged you?” Clara’s tears mixed with the rain.
When she was three years old, his father had brought back a boy. “Clara, his parents have died
unexpectedly. From now on, he will live in our house. He’s your brother.”
At that time, Steve was six years old. He came over and gave her a knight’s salute with a warm and
handsome smile. “Hello, my little princess. I will protect you from now on!” he said.
From when she was three until now, Steve had always protected her and the Rowan family.
In her heart, Steve was a part of their family, her prince.
With his pampering, she hadn’t needed to learn anything. All she needed to do was buy clothes, bags,
and be a good woman.
Why was that man so cruel to her now?
He had stolen everything from her and had left her with nothing. He had even ridiculed calling her
inferior to a dog.
Just because she was dirty?
Employees who entered the building saw Clara sitting on the ground next to the door and quickly
recognized her, pointing at her. This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
“Ms. Rowan was so indecent. Even after getting married, she still had a tryst with another man in a
hotel.”
“It’s good that Mr. Lane divorced Mrs. Rowan!”
“If ARCTIC didn’t have Mr. Lane, with that idiot brain of hers, we would have gone bankrupt a long time
ago!”
“......”
In the CEO office at ARCTIC, sitting in the boss’s chair, Steve Lane looked at the real time surveillance
of the front of the building. He watched the embarrassed woman, soaked to the skin, fall to the ground.
A complicated looked flashed in his eyes.
Very soon, his expression became unusually cold. He took the photo of a young man and woman on
from the table and threw it into the trash bin.
“Clara Rowan, this is what your family owes me! “
No matter how much Clara begged the security guard or pleaded with the manager of ARCTIC, it was
of no use.
The security guard complaining that she was an obstruction pushed her to the side of the road with a
riot control fork.
Her leg hit the railing and got a long cut by an iron wire. She painfully fell to the ground and no matter
what couldn’t get up.
She couldn’t help crying.
In just a single day, she had lost everything.........
After a long time, the sky gradually darkened. The heavy rain continued unabated.
A Maybach slowly stopped by her side. A driver quickly came from the passenger seat carrying an
umbrella and stopped in front of her.
