Chapter 91 Three Women, One Farce
Blanca’s emotions were in turmoil, and her nails were digging deep into her palm.
If she really did find her mother and father…
She had to ask them why they abandoned her!
But Mrs. Brown simply shook her head helplessly. “Old man Butler’s always kept to himself. The young master’s probably the only one who knows about this.”
“Oh…”
Blanca smiled sadly. Seemed like Matthew really was her only hope.
…
The next morning, a red Ferrari pulled up to a stop outside the police precinct. Wearing a large sunhat, Louise sat in the driver’s seat, her delicate nose framed with black shades, all dressed up so nobody could recognize her.All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.
“She’s inside. Coming out soon.”
Louise shot a look at the person in the passenger seat and complained, “What with your connection? She gave me up in front of Matthew!”
Louise was fuming over that. With how Matthew had been all cold to her yesterday, it’d be way harder to get close to him from now on!
“Miss Grant, we are partners. You can’t just blame someone else whenever things go wrong for you, you know?”
Sitting in the passenger seat, Lisa said coldly. If it hadn’t been for the fact that she was at the end of her rope, she wouldn’t be turning to some useless oaf like Louise!
A while later, there came the sound of a grate opening from outside the police station, and a woman with messy hair was pushed out. Louise nudged Lisa, a little disgustedly, “Go pick her up.”
Idiot, both of them!
Louise frowned, but… they still had their uses. She had to grin and bear it for now.
Mary got on the car and Louise drove off.
Three women, one farce. Meanwhile, Blanca was still in her dreams, and didn’t know that they were preparing to strike again.
“Mom, Dad, don’t leave me!”
Suddenly, she cried out in her sleep, her face scrunched together, fine brow furrowing, as if experiencing something greatly upsetting. Blanca repeatedly shook her head, “Grandpa…” Don’t, don’t leave her.
Her grandmother was all she had left!
As her sweat dripped down her sharp chin, Blanca suddenly jolted awake and found Matthew staring at her calmly. “Nightmare?”
“Yeah…” She dry-swallowed. Matthew handed her some water. Blanca’s eyes dimmed, and drank it in one gulp. Her throat felt a little better after that. “Thank you.”
As if finding her appearance a bit piteous, Matthew thought about it. “My teacher is not in the country right now. When he gets back, I’ll make arrangements.”
Arrangements…?
Arrangements for what? Their meeting?!
When she heard what he said, Blanca’s eyes widened and she grabbed Matthew’s arms excitedly, eyes full of expectation. “Really? You’ll arrange for me to meet that Mr. Butler?”
She didn’t know who this old man was, but Blanca had already consciously thought of Ernest Butler as someone who could relate to her, and felt a bit more intimate to him now. The words came blurting out.
“Would I lie?” Matthew smiled mockingly, as if displeased that Blanca didn’t believe him.
Blanca went straight into lackey mode and praised, “How could I? You’re the best person in all of Oakshire, Matthew, and I’ll never say bad things about you again!”
“Oh? What kind of bad things have you ever said about me before?” Matthew’s gaze suddenly darkened.
Realizing she’d said something wrong, Blanca hurriedly released his elbows and waved frantically, “Nope, nope…”
