Chapter 878
Chapter 878 Time has changed
Seeing Carlee stuffing clothes and cosmetics into her suitcase, Harley felt a little confused for a while.
“Mom, where are you going?” he asked in confusion.
Carlee didn’t speak until she had packed everything she was going to bring with her and then she turned to look at Harley.
“You are letting yourself fall for Nina, Sylvia is still pregnant with a child and you drove her away. I no longer want to have a son like you!” Carlee rolled her suitcase across the room and only stopped at the door to address Harley. “I’m going back to my hometown for a while, you can take care of yourself! ”
Then she got in a car and left the villa, leaving the two servants in the house dumbfounded. But instead of the expected shocking reaction from Harley, all Carlee's action gave to Carlee was a blank facial expression.
Seeing Harley go downstairs, Mrs. Barns couldn’t help but step forward to speak to him.
“Mr. Timothy, please ask Mrs. Carlee to come back. Mothers and sons are usually so affectionate. Why do you two have to keep fighting all the time?" “Mrs. Barns, go about your business.”
Harley let out a weary sigh. He knew Mrs. Barns was right, but he didn’t go after Carlee in the end.
For a long time, Carlee was overwhelmed by the state of Harley because of Nina. Thinking that she had not returned to her hometown for several years, it was not such a bad thing to go to her parent's house for a short period.
Now that there were only servants left at home, Harley gave a few instructions before driving back to the hospital. Walking into the ward, he saw Nina with his back to him, she looked out the window and
seemed to be in deep thought.
“Nina, I'm back!” Harley announced, stepping forward. He tried to test Nina's acceptance of him and stretched his long arms around her waist from behind.
At first, Nina was startled, feeling the tenderness behind her and perceiving the familiar scent of Harley's cologne. Without resisting, she continued to stare out the window, letting Harley rest his chin on her shoulder. The two remained silent and hugged each other for a few minutes.
It wasn't until Nina was a little tired from standing that she turned around and smiled at Harley “Go and sit, I want to lie down for a while.”
Realizing her limited physical strength, Harley moved quickly and hurriedly helped Nina back to the hospital bed. Pulling a chair beside the hospital bed, Harley sat beside Nina.
“What would you like to have for dinner? It's still early but I’m going to make it for you.” “Let's not talk about the food, did you go home just now?”
“Yes,” Harley replied, not wanting to hide anything from Nina. He told her the whole story of what happened in the villa.
However, Nina didn’t gloat at all but instead looked a little guilty. “I’m sorry, it’s all because of me, otherwise your mother wouldn't have been so angry that she would have returned to her hometown." she paused, smiling wryly. “To be honest, I don't want your mother and you to become enemies. Even if we go our separate ways in the future, I don’t want to be seen as a disruptor.” All text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
Seeing that Nina still thought of him, Harley was moved. “Nina, don’t think like that, it's not your fault. I have been very tired since I was a child because I found that my life seems to only be meaningful whenever it meets my mother’s various expectations. To put it bluntly, I am a person without control over my life. Even entering the entertainment was her idea.”
Hearing Harley confide in her, Nina asked with a smile: "You don’t want to be an actor, what career do you want to pursue then?”
“If I could choose again, I'd like to be a screenwriter or a painter, instead of acting in front of the camera every single day,” Harley replied. He was beginning to feel freer around Nina.
Nina spent a few seconds in thoughts and then continued “since you have a dream, why not try it? I think with your ingenuity, you can start by trying screenwriting, and then learn painting in your spare time.”
Listening to her giving advice, Harley looked serious and nodded. “Okay, when you marry me, I will stand by you and the baby while working hard to realize your dreams!”
Marrying Harley is a bit too exaggerated for Nina. After all, today Harley did not accept him back but instead agreed to give it a thought. Instead of a direct answer, she quickly changed the topic.
“Let's not talk about it for now, but... think you should go bring your mother home.”
“Let her stay there for now. I'll pick her up from my hometown later and visit my relatives as it's been long since I last visited them.”
Harley responded casually, thinking in his mind that if Carlee would hold on, then he would marry Nina first, and then go back to his hometown to bring his mother back.
“Nina, how about the day True Paul turns a month old, we also arrange the wedding. Would that be okay?" Harley urgently asked Nina.
“Ah... wouldn’t the wedding be too hasty?” Nina argued. “We can take care of the children together, but the wedding should not be rushed. I hope you can have your mother’s blessings in your life’s major events.”
Harley listened to Nina’s persuasion, and it made sense to think about it. “Then I will listen to you. True Paul is weak now. We will hold the wedding ceremony in a few months.”
He obeyed Nina, but with an additional request, he wanted to take her; his wife and True Paul to come live with him once they were discharged. Nina thought for a moment and nodded in agreement, promising that Harley would take the child to live with him after she was discharged from the hospital.
Days swept by and the day of discharge from the hospital finally arrived. The child had recovered and could be brought back to the home for careful feeding. Nina’s weak body has also greatly improved, and the haggard appearance had faded away to make way for her cheerful self once more.
On the day of discharge, Ariana was busy packing things, and Kasen Paul went upstairs to the attending doctor to get the medical records. Next to the hospital bed, True Paul, who was carefully held in his arms by Nina, was grinning at his mother from time to time.
Nina was directly adored by the cuteness of the little guy, and looked at Harley excitedly, saying, “The baby is smiling at me! she must know who I am! ”
“Why wouldn't she? True Paul came out of your belly.”
Finally able to get close contact with his daughter, Harley was also enjoying the joy of becoming a new father. The ward was full of happy faces, but standing in the corridor not far away was Tom, as cold and as still as a sculpture.
