Chapter 238 Memories Restored
Chapter 238 Memories Restored
Nathan and Britney were discussing ways to deal with the ungrateful woman, Rowane, when suddenly,
Nathan's phone rang. It turned out to be Edric who had called. After Jordan called Nathan, he gave
Edric a call and told him about Rowane's amnesia and that she was with Nathan.
Hearing that Rowane was still alive, Edric was very surprised. With Marie's vicious nature, if she knew
that Rowane was still alive, she would definitely go after Rowane as she was an important witness. If
Rowane were to tell the truth, that would be the end of Marie and she would definitely go to jail.
Therefore, he immediately called Nathan and asked, "Nathan, is Rowane with you?"
"Yes, she is."
Edric then told Nathan about Rowane being Marie's and Steven's daughter. He also told Nathan about
Marie's assassination attempt on Rowane too, "Rowane is an important witness. Since Marie failed to
end her last time, I am worried that she will attempt to do so again. Please look out for Rowane at all
times and keep her safe."
Nathan was stunned. He immediately hung up on the phone and went to look for Rowane, but Rowane
was not in her room. He then asked the other servants, but they did not see her either. Later, the
security guard reported that Rowane had ran out with her hands covering her face.
Nathan immediately ordered for people to search for Rowane, but she was nowhere to be found. He
asked the security guards to check the surveillance, and found that Rowane had been kidnapped.
Nathan immediately reported the license plate number of the kidnapper to the police. The police started
going after the criminal.
After Dunn knocked Rowane unconscious, he dragged her into the car and left immediately. Initially, he
had wanted to kill Rowane immediately, but after seeing the unconscious Rowane, he was reluctant to
do so. The unconscious Rowane looked gorgeous, and flames of lust burned in Dunn's chest. Killing
such a beautiful woman would be a waste. He wanted to enjoy his time with her before killing her off.
Therefore, he brought Rowane back to his hideout.
He brought Rowane into a room and placed her on a bed. Then, Dunn began to take off her clothes
quickly. His harsh actions caused Rowane to wake up.
When she saw Dunn taking off her clothes, she was shocked. She tried to escape, but Dunn grabbed
her hair and dragged her back.
"Let go of me!" Rowane struggled with all her might.
"Hey beautiful, you'd better be obedient. If you make me happy enough, I might just let you live a few
more days," Dunn said lasciviously while continuing to take Rowane's clothes off.
"You pervert! Aren't you afraid of karma?" Rowane struggled.
"Me? Afraid of karma? Why should I be?" Dunn laughed harshly, "I have been killing people since a
young age, so this is nothing to me!"
"Go to hell! You will surely get your karma! Even if I die, I'll come back to haunt you," Rowane cursed
angrily.
"If there really is karma, I would have gotten it since the day I hit you with my car, but here I am, still
very much alive! However, what about you? Don't you know you are very near to death?" Dunn mocked
her.
"You hit me with a car?" Rowane looked at Dunn, shocked.
Dunn's disfigured face bore a sinister expression and his eyes were vicious. The scar on his face would
bob whenever he chuckled. Where had she seen his face before? Her head hurt so badly that she
couldn't think about anything else. 'An accident! There was an accident!' Those words continuously
flashed past her mind, making her mind more and more chaotic.
With Dunn's sinister grinning face and fierce eyes in front of her, pieces of undesirable memories
suddenly flashed through Rowane's mind.
One late night on the street...she had been panicking...a car was closing in on her...
The scar on Dunn's face and his fierce, cruel eyes kept flashing across Rowane's blurred memories.
They quickly overlapped as if she was having a nightmare. Rowane then came back to her senses as if
she had just woken up from a dream.
Murderer! He was the murderer who had hit her with a car!
"Ah!" Rowane let out a terrifying scream.
Bang! The sound of heavy objects falling sounded from outside the room. "Dunn!" Dunn's subordinates
shouted in horror. After the first call of his name, there came a long silence.
The door was then suddenly kicked open, and Dunn subconsciously turned around. At the entrance of
the room, stood a group of policemen in uniforms, with black muzzles in their hands that were aimed at
him...
The news of Lily giving birth to green-eyed babies was published in the newspaper the very next day
and the media milked that piece of news the best they could. The articles read that although Lily looked
innocent on the outside, she would go to nightclubs in secret during the night. Her foreign children were
the results of intimacy with a foreigner whom she had met in a nightclub. In an instant, everyone
thought that Lily was a wh*re and a sl*t, and she became a hot topic among many. She was looked
down by others in disgust.
Deborah and Logan weren't aware of the news of Lily's babies being delivered since Lily had given
birth earlier than the expected date and Marie was taking care of Lily instead. They had been having a
hard time and were thinking of ways to bail Heather out. They had no time to pay attention to gossip, so
naturally they knew nothing of that.
Under Edric's orders, Simon went to meet Deborah and Logan the next day, ready to put on a big
show.
Simon hailed a taxi and arrived at Deborah's and Logan's hideout. He was very familiar with the place
since he had surveyed the location prior to this visit after being informed of it by Edric's men.
Hearing the doorbell rang, Logan walked to the door and looked through the peephole. When he saw
that it was Simon, he was shocked. He turned and said to Deborah in a low voice, "It's Simon."
"He got released?" Deborah was also surprised. How did Simon manage to escape? She had even
bribed the officials in the past so that he would stay in jail for a longer period of time. She felt guilty
about it, so she lowered her voice and asked Logan, "How did he know about this place?"
"Perhaps Marie told him," Logan guessed, "Do you want to let him in?"
"Let him in," Deborah replied.
Logan opened the door and Simon entered the room, "Deborah, I've finally found you."
"When did you get released?" Deborah asked him as she invited him to sit down.
"I've been released for quite some time. I've been living with Marie for this period of time," Simon
explained.
"You're living with Marie?" Deborah looked at Simon suspiciously. She knew very well how much Marie
disliked Simon. Back then, she had tried so hard to send Simon to prison, so there was no way she
would let him live with her. Did Simon blackmail Marie to let him stay? Deborah's face hardened, "Did
you threaten her with Lily's matter?"
Simon said with a smile, "Deborah, I had nowhere to go. So I have no choice but to look to her for help.
She didn't want to take me in at first, so I had to threaten her." NôvelDrama.Org (C) content.
Sure enough, everything was within Deborah's expectations. Looking at Simon who was in front of her,
Deborah felt very uncomfortable. Marie was as vicious as her, but he still dared to threaten her. It was a
miracle that he was alive until then. Of course, what she was most worried about right then was the fact
that Simon might tell that matter of the past to Marie. If Marie knew that Lily was not her daughter, the
consequences would be unimaginable. Right then, the top priority was to persuade Simon to leave. If
he was willing to listen to her request, then she would spare his life. Otherwise, she would show him no
mercy.
"Simon, Marie is an incredibly devious person. She could kill you with ease. I think you'd better stop
fantasizing about being with her. I think you should use this matter to threaten her to give you some
money and then you can settle down in another place!" Deborah persuaded.
"I know that she's vicious. When I was living with her, she tried to kill me several times. Fortunately, I
was clever enough." Simon sighed, "I came here today because I have something more important to
tell you."
"What's the matter?" Deborah was satisfied with Simon's obedience, so she became more affectionate,
"Simon, if you need any help, just tell me."
"Deborah, I don't need your help with this. The reason I came to you today is to tell you about Lily. Lily
has given birth in the hospital. Do you know that?" Simon asked.
"Lily has given birth already? Why haven't I heard anything from Marie?" Deborah was puzzled. Why
didn't Marie let her know by giving her a call? Of course, she didn't know that Marie had been busy all
night for Lily's sake, "Is she done delivering the babies?"
"Yes, she has," Simon replied.
"Thank the heavens! Having a safe delivery is the most important," Deborah sighed with relief and
asked Simon, "How's Lily's condition right now?"
"Haven't you read the newspaper?" Simon sighed, "Lily's in such a pitiful state! Deborah, you'd better
go and see her!"
"What's wrong with her?" Deborah became highly concerned as a mother would upon hearing that
Lily's body was in poor state.
"Lily has given birth to two healthy foreign children. Although it was a premature delivery, the children
are healthy. However, she bled a lot when giving birth," Simon continued.
Simon spoke very slowly and he deliberately emphasized the word 'foreign children', but unfortunately,
it had never occurred to Deborah that Lily would give birth to two foreign children, so she only thought
that the children was normal. When she heard that Lily had bled a lot, she became very anxious, "Can
you hurry and finish your sentences? You are making me anxious by speaking so slowly!"
"Lily almost lost her life due to the bleeding, but Marie came to her rescue and saved her life," Simon
finished. Upon hearing that Lily was safe, Deborah became relieved, but then, Simon continued,
"Although her life has been saved, her uterus has been removed for good!"
"What did you say?" Deborah was very shocked. Although Marie had told her that there was something
wrong with Lily's body and that she might not be able to get pregnant again, being unable to get
pregnant and having no uterus bore two different meanings. How was Lily a woman if she no longer
had a uterus?
"Deborah, you should go and visit Lily quickly and comfort her. At this time, she needs the comfort of
her family members the most," Simon persuaded.
Deborah could not sit still. Lily was her own flesh and blood. How could she not worry about her? So,
she hurried to the hospital.
Lily was sleeping due to the sedatives. When Deborah entered the ward, she saw that Marie was
looking after Lily. Marie was surprised to see her, "Why are you here?"
"How can I not come here when Lily's like this?" Deborah anxiously walked to the bedside and asked,
"How is she?"
"She wasn't emotionally stable, so I gave her a sedative to let her rest," Marie answered, "I was going
to call you to tell you about the matter. She kept on bleeding due to the premature delivery, and I had to
save her multiple times. I couldn't think of any way to stop the bleeding, so I had no choice but to cut off
her uterus."
"Why did she have a premature delivery?" she asked. Since Simon had notified Deborah about Lily's
uterus being gone, so she was not too alarmed, but she was still puzzled as to why Lily had a
premature delivery.
"I don't know either. Lily had been sent to the hospital by Irene and the others. I guess that Irene was
the one behind her premature delivery," Marie still dared to frame Irene at that moment.
"Irene?" Simon had only told Deborah about the fact that Lily had her uterus cut, and he failed to tell
her the whole story. Deborah got furious when she heard that, "Irene! That b*tch, I'll never spare her!"
