Chapter 36 Both of Us Cheated on Each Other
“When? With whom?”
Mrs. Old Byran stood up in surprise.
Iverson’s expression remained unchanged. “You’ll know soon.”
With these words, he glanced at Victoria and Lydia. He said casually, “So no one else needs to worry about my marriage.”
When Victoria heard this, she looked embarrassed and said, “It’s good to get married, but at least we should be mentally prepared. Which family’s daughter is she?”
“Yes, who is she?” Lydia asked, full of disbelief.
Although she had just returned to the country, she had known Iverson for many years. She had never seen any other woman around him. Even those women who had pounced on him had been driven away by him.Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
“When she settles down, I’ll bring her to see Grandma.”
Iverson obviously didn’t want to reveal her identity too early.
No one knew what was going on.
Mrs. Old Byran finally came to her senses. “Getting married is a good thing. Why are you still so mysterious? But I believe that you have good taste, Iverson.”
It was a pity that Lydia could not marry Iverson.
Mrs. Old Byran glanced at Lydia beside her.
The Byran family had always been on good terms with the Ginos family. When Mr. Old Byran was still alive, he had been a perfect partner of Mr. Old Ginos. She had thought Lydia could marry Iverson, which would fulfill Mr. Old Byran’s last wish.
During dinner, everyone had something on their mind.
Lydia and Victoria kept asking who Iverson would marry, but he didn’t say anything.
After dinner, Mrs. Old Byran asked Iverson to send Lydia home.
Iverson agreed verbally, but he asked the driver to send her.
“Iverson!”
Lydia refused to get in the car and asked, “Do you mean you’re getting married?”
“Why is it not true?”
“Then who is she? Is she someone I know? Why have I never heard of her before?”
“You don’t know her.”
Iverson glanced at his watch and said, “It’s getting late. You should go home. Mr. White, take Miss Ginos home.”
The word “Miss Ginos” revealed her status.
For Iverson, they weren’t that familiar with each other, and he wasn’t happy that she had come uninvited.
Seeing Iverson leave without looking back, Lydia got into the car with a sullen face, unable to accept the fact.
“Who on earth is going to marry Iverson?”
An image suddenly flashed through her mind.
Could it be that woman from that day?
It was late at night.
After washing up, Amanda saw an unread message on her phone.
She swiped the screen and saw the words “good night” sent by Iverson half an hour ago. She immediately typed “Still up?” and was about to send it when she hesitated.
In the end, she deleted that message and replied, “Amanda.”
A week later, the court officially entered the court mediation procedure of the divorce lawsuit. The lawyers of both parties met.
When Amanda received a call from the court’s staff, she immediately rushed over.
They made an appointment at the cafe downstairs of the Sean Group.
“Miss Jewell, Mr. Dolley.”
The court worker, dressed in a black uniform and wearing a mediator’s name tag, said, “Hello, just call me Lori.”
“Hello.”
After Amanda and Patrick sat down, they checked the time simultaneously.
It took a long time before Halley finally came.
“Mr. Sean, you are really a busy man. You even asked us to cooperate with you to mediate, making us wait so long. Those who don’t know the truth will think you don’t want to divorce.”
Patrick’s mood soured the moment he saw Halley.
Halley did not stand at the ceremony. “Mr. Dolley, it’s true that I don’t want to divorce. My wife proposed it, but you seem to have a problem with me.”
Patrick immediately interrupted and warned, “You will be sued for slandering someone’s relationship and causing any negative influence.”
“Well, you two, we are here to mediate your marriage conflict.”
The topic changed back to the right track.
Leaning against the back of the chair, Halley looked at Amanda across from him and paused for a moment.
Amanda was wearing a green satin shirt and skirt today. Her long hair was tied behind her head by a ribbon. The soybean-colored lipstick made her look gentle and elegant. This set of matching clothes was delicate and lazy.
Halley felt that she was even more beautiful than she had been in university. His tone softened as he said, “Amanda, long time no see.”
Since the arrival of Halley, he had been giving tit for tat with Patrick. Amanda didn’t even give him a glance.
It was only then that she raised her head, revealing a pair of beautiful eyes.
“We haven’t seen each other for a long time, have we? Didn’t we just meet a few days ago? It’s dark and windy on the mountain. Didn’t Mr. Sean see me clearly?”
Her apathetic words woke Halley up from his stupor.
“Amanda, must we shed all pretenses like this? After all, we’ve been married for three years.”
Amanda was terrifyingly calm. “Aren’t you the one who’s going to fall out with me? You cheated, transferred the property, and threatened me… Weren’t you the one who destroyed our marriage?”
“Do you dare to say that you are always loyal to our marriage? Don’t think that I don’t know anything.”
“What do you know?”
“Both of us cheated on each other, not just me.”
Halley sneered and handed her a photo. “You’re the one who went to get a room with someone in this photo, aren’t you? Amanda Jewell!”
