Chapter Eighty-Two
Chapter Eighty-Two
For a moment, Charles stared at the serious expression on his father's face. Then he shoved his hands
into his pocket, frowned, and said, "I'm going to sell DreamTeam."
"What!" William lashed out in shock.
As his face hardened, Charles shot his father a warning look and coldly uttered, "Watch the volume of
your voice!"
"How could you think about doing something like that!" William asked in a calmer tone.
"DreamTeam is beyond saving, and if I continue trying to keep it running, I will be at the losing end.
That's why I'm going to file for an 'administration bankruptcy' and sell the company."
"Charles!"
"Father, that's the only way I can get out of this mess with fortune and start over. But if I don't act now, I
get nothing and lose it all!"
Even though William hated the thought of his son selling a company that have been within their family
for years, he knew Charles was right.
As he was about to speak, his words got stuck in his throat while he watched Susanna approach them
with a tall haughty looking man following her and two police officers.
"Good morning, Charles Barlow!" The fellow called out when he and the maid got closer.
Immediately, Charles' face became pale, and he slowly turned around to face the man before forcing a
smile.
"Mr. Willberg!" Charles uttered, keeping the stiff grin plastered on his face. "What are you doing here so
early?" This content belongs to Nô/velDra/ma.Org .
"Are have a court order to repossess DreamTeam and the entire Barlow's properties since they are
collateral for the loans that you owe us." Mr. Willberg said as he handed Charles an envelope.
"Wait, what!" Charles shouted while he quivered with frustration and accepted the envelope.
Hearing his loud voice, the rest of the family rushed from the living room and entered the hallway.
"What's going on here?" Mr. Barlow asked with a look of worry on his face.
"Charles had missed a payment for our loan, and under the security agreements, we as the creditor,
are entitled to take the collateral." Mr. Willberg calmly explained.
"What?!" Madam Barlow said in a choked voice.
After scanning through the paper from the envelope, Charles glared at Mr. Willberg and cried, "It was
one payment!"
"You miss even one payment, you have defaulted on your loan!" Mr. Willberg casually uttered.
With fear glowing in his eyes, Charles frowned and said, "But the bank didn't notify me on this!"
"You waive the right to receive advance notice since our contract doesn't specifically oblige us to do
that, and it's your commitment to pay your debt on time!"
After hearing those words, Charles's eyes were lined with anxiety as he harshly uttered, "You guys
can't do this to me! I have the right to cure default!"
"You can try, but I think it's too late for that Mr. Barlow. You see, the court wouldn't have given the order
if they had seen you fit to repay your debt. But we all know how worrisome your finances are, Charles."
Mr. Willberg uttered. "Also, we know that you have plans to sell the company!"
Then his face hardened as he announced, "We have the right to seize the Barlows properties,
repossess vehicles, and freeze all bank accounts that relate to those working for DreamTeam
according to the security agreements!"
Those words sent panic to Anthony and Elijah's hearts, and Anthony shouted, "Charles, what have you
done!"
"Don't yell at me!" Charles lashed out, throwing his uncle a dirty look.
Then he ran his fingers through his hair and his face grew dramatically stricken as he cried out, "I'm
fuck!!"
Ignoring his cries, Mr. Willberg looked at their faces and said, "The only thing you all are allowed to
take from this house is your clothes. These very nice officers will help escort you all out after you guys
are done!"
With his face flat and white, Anthony threw his gaze at the ceiling and mumbled in frustration, "I am
doom!"
Immediately, Madam Barlow's eyes jumped with fear as she looked at her husband's pale expression
and cried out, "Honey! What are we going to do!?"
"What do you think we can do here, woman!!!" Mr. Barlow screamed as he glanced urgently at her,
eyes wide, sweat beading on his forehead.
Then he shook his head and mumbled beneath his breath, "We have lost it all?"
In that instant, his gaze unintentionally landed on Charles and he rushed to his grandson, collared his
shirt, and drove him against the wall.
"This is all your fault!" Mr. Barlow screamed in his face.
Ignoring his father as he vigorously struck Charles in the jaw, Elijah looked at Mr. Willberg, and his
blood went cold as he asked, "But if you freeze our accounts, how do you expect us to withdraw money
and find somewhere new to stay."
"You have to take that up with the new owner of DreamTeam." Mr. Willbery said. "Also, I need you all
out of this house by today!"
With rage burning in his eyes, Charles vigorously shoved his grandfather off him, and Mr. Barlow took
two unstable steps back before Edward grabbed him in his arms.
"You idiot!" Mr. Barlow screamed and then clutched onto his chest as he started to experience a
shortness of breath.
Paying no mind to his grandfather, Charles looked at Mr. Willberg and coldly asked, "New owner? What
do you mean by that?!"
"Excuse me," Mr. Willberg uttered, turning away.
As Charles watched him walk down the hall, he screamed, "Who are you giving DreamTeam to?!"
"Show up to work tomorrow, and you will find out!" Mr. Willberg shouted back without stopping.
Widening her eyelids, Madam Barlow's face grew dull, and she sobbed softly, "Honey!"
"Dad!" Edward mumbled, tightening his grip on his father as Mr. Barlow's body became weak in his
hand.
"I will call the ambulance!" A police officer hastily said, focusing on her phone screen.
Not minding what was happening to his father, Elijah clutched his fist, and his expression grew
worrisome as he mumbled, "So the bank is selling DreamTeam to someone else?"
With his hands resting on his hips, Anthony paced back and forth and then said, "But who?!"
"Who else has the power to screw us all up!" Richard uttered with heavy sarcasm.
After a brief pause, Charles let out a shuddering sigh and mumbled beneath his breath, "I thought it
was a bluff. But that person really let Rome have the Barlow wealth back… But why? Why would they
use me just to allow things to end this way?"
Finally getting over his shock, William looked at his son and hastily said, "We should go to the office
tomorrow like Willberg said and beg Rome to spare us!"
"Yes! I'm sure for Catherine's sake, he will pity us!" Anthony cried, feeling a spike of hopefulness.
"Can you guys get over your egocentricity and help me with father!" Edward lashed out as he struggled
to balance Mr. Barlow.
Frowning, Elijah narrowed his eyes and said, "Ain't you taking care of it!"
Hearing those words, Mr. Barlow wanted to lash out at his son, but he felt too weak and a discomfort in
the center of his chest as he break out into a cold sweat.
"You ungrateful children!" Madam Barlow cried in a fit of rage with tears in her eyes.
"Can't you see that we have better things to worry about here!!" Anthony shouted in a fit of rage.
Staring at her son with a look of disbelief on her face, Madam Barlow cried out, "How heartless can you
all get!?"
"What do you want us to do, mother. None of us are doctors here! So tell your husband to hold on for
his dear life and wait for professionals, okay?!" Elijah said without a look of remorse in his expression.
Watching from afar, Richard scowled at the chaos in the hallway. Then his phone buzzed in his hand
and he looked at the screen, reading silently, "I can get your brother out of prison and have you two
settle in another country if you do a small task for me."
"The ambulance is here!" An officer announced, and Richard raised his gaze, feeling his sense of
dilemma growing stronger by each passing second.
Then as he watched the EMT team rush towards them, rolling a stretcher, he casually placed his phone
back into his pocket and his eyes grew dark.
