A Divorce After My Rebirth

Chapter 48

Chapter 48 Isabella’s Request

Natalie didn’t agree to go back to the Johnson Manor for Elizabeth’s birthday, and Cedric was getting increasingly agitated.

At least today, the design submitted to him was satisfactory.

However, with Natalie causing a commotion, his mood…!

“Yuvan!”

“Yes, sir. Where would you like to go?” Yuvan asked.

After leaving the cafe, Cedric wandered around for a while, and Yuvan was uncertain about his

destination.

In the past few days, Cedric grew noticeably colder each time they approached Scarlet Villa. The driver and Yuvan were eager to drop him off at the end of each day, worried their hearts wouldn’t endure the

stress much longer!

“Let’s go to the hospit

to the hospital,” Cedric eventually said after a brief pause.

Upon hearing this, Yuvan and the driver grew even more apprehensive. Every time they left the hospital,

Cedric’s mood was even worse.

It seemed they wouldn’t have an easy time tonight.

They soon arrived at the hospital, and Yuvan followed Cedric to the ward.

Inside the hospital room, Isabella’s eyes were covered by a white cloth. Her long black hair cascaded down, and she sat on the bed. She looked delicate and vulnerable, evoking sympathy to everyone who saw her.

“You’re here,” she said before Cedric could speak.

Her voice was gentle and soothing to the ears.

Cedric was momentarily distracted. Without waiting for him to respond, Isabella smiled and continued, “I was impulsive before. If she doesn’t want to apologize, it doesn’t matter to me.”

She was referring to the incident where she asked Natalie to apologize to her.

The first time Cedric was here, he learned that Isabella knew how Natalie had bought off those thugs.

As Natalie’s husband, he had agreed to her request without hesitation.

However, he had not expected Natalie’s reaction to be so severe.

Not only did she refuse to apologize, but she also displayed an unconcerned attitude. Natalie had shown no remorse for her actions, and her attitude seemed to convey that she no longer wanted Cedric.

Her behavior left people feeling exasperated.

However, Isabella was now willing to let it go!

Her generosity tugged at people’s hearts, making them treasure her even more.

“Bella,” Cedric began, his tone somewhat stern.

Upon hearing Cedric calling her by her nickname, Isabella smiled gently. Her appearance already made

her pitiful, and her demeanor now evoked a protective desire from those who looked at her.

It was evident that she was miserable!

And it was all due to Natalie’s actions.

Cedric’s suppressed emotions were increasingly apparent.

“Rest assured, she will face the consequences she deserves,” Cedric stated.

He had been too lenient with her over the years, which had allowed her to change so drastically.

Isabella asked, “How so? Will you let her go to prison?”

Cedric was silent.

No, he couldn’t.

He wouldn’t!

After all, they had shared ten years of their lives together!

The ve

years he had spent with Natalie used to fill him with pride. However, now they felt suffocating. He had been mistaken about the woman he had been with for a decade. 1

“Sorry,” Cedric eventually said with a heavy heart.

Isabella’s smile faded, replaced by a sense of sadness.

She told him, I know you can’t bear it, just let it go.

Cedric couldn’t help but feel that Natalie deserved to be punished when he heard that.

How could Natalie be so heartless to someone like Isabella?

Natalie had never truly understood her. How could she refuse to apologize for her actions?

The more he thought about it, the angrier Cedric felt inside.

“But the next time…” Isabella began, seeming to sense his emotions and pausing for a moment before continuing. “Next time, I won’t forgive her. I’m only forgiving her because of you.” Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

So, she was forgiving Natalie for Cedric’s sake?!

“Don’t worry, there won’t be a next time,” Cedric declared firmly.

One time was already too much for anyone to bear.

So, how could there be a next time?!

Before Cedric could say anything else, there was a knock on the door. A doctor and a nurse entered after

a moment.

They respectfully said to Cedric, “Mr. Johnson, Ms. Morgan needs rest to recover.”

“Alright.”

Cedric stood up and told Isabella, “Don’t overthink it. Rest well. I’ve got everything covered.”

The last part of his sentence made any woman who heard them feel filled with security and reliance. Isabella smiled beautifully, her angelic presence making everyone feel at ease.

Cedric, the doctor, and Yuvan left the room together. Cedric asked the doctor, “What are the potential complications from the infection? Does she need surgery soon?”

“As it’s an infection, the risks are naturally high. She’ll need the surgery as soon as possible,” the doctor replied.

Cedric’s heart tightened. Isabella had already been in the intensive care unit twice. When he had seen her earlier, she appeared weaker than before.

Every time Cedric met with the doctor, the latter would undoubtedly talk about the surgery and hope Cedric could find a living donor as soon as possible.

They needed to at least let Isabella go through the surgery first.

“It’s not that we want to push you. But you’ve been determined to help Ms. Morgan recover We ca

Cedric was silent.

“But if we leave it open like this for much longer and she keeps getting infected, it will also be dangerous

for her.”

“I got it already!” Cedric said with a bitter expression. 1

Yuvan stood behind Cedric, feeling equally worried. Yuvan had been handling this matter all along, and he understood how crucial a living donor was for Isabella now. However, even in a world where people were short of money, no one would willingly give up their own eyesight.

What was the use of money when one couldn’t see?

Cedric was already in a bad mood, and after he visited the hospital, his mood was worse.

He couldn’t help but compare Natalie and Isabella.

At one time, Natalie was equally gentle and understanding, but who would have thought that beneath her

kindness, there was…

Bam!

He slammed his fist into the wall, leaving behind bloodstains instantly.

Yuvan tensed up from where he was standing behind Cedric.

In the coffee shop where they were working late, Natalie was in for another sleepless night.

The team was busy working when the shop’s door was thrust open with a loud bang.

Everyone glanced up, looking toward the source of the commotion.

A few people in the group, particularly the girls, couldn’t help but brighten up when they saw Cedric. His reputation in Verde City was widespread, making him a well–known figure.

But when they saw the icy glare in his eyes, they couldn’t help but look at Natalie.

She had also seen Cedric. When she noticed the fierce look on his face, she closed her eyes and stood up

As Cedric approached her, she grabbed her coffee and threw it at him.

“Get out!” she demanded.

Everyone was left stunned.

Karina was speechless.

Natalie was furious.

This man had just left not too long ago, and now he was back.

She was no fool and understood precisely why Cedric had returned.
