After mom 3

As soon as he entered, he began searching the house.
Finally, he came back to me and asked, “Where’s mom?”
I stared at him in disbelief, “What do you mean?” Belongs to © n0velDrama.Org.

“Don’t play dumb with me. You know exactly what your mom did. Why did she steal Buddy when she knew how important he is to Emma? Emma relies on him!”
“I’ve told you many times there’s nothing between Emma and me. I just treat her like a sister. She’s an orphan with poor health, what’s wrong with me taking care of her? Why does your mom have to target her because of you? Can’t you two just accept her?”
Buddy was Emma’s dog.
Jacob’s voice was ice–cold, but his words made me feel a surge of emotions, anger choking me until I could barely breathe.
I had originally thought he came looking for my mom to apologize for his and Lucas’s behavior.
Or maybe he had learned about my mom’s death and came to express remorse.
But I never expected they were here to accuse my mom over Emma’s dog.
How ridiculous. My mom was dead because of them, and now they were slandering her.
They wouldn’t even let her rest in peace.
My eyes were filled with venom as I spoke, “Jacob Thompson, I don’t care about your dirty business with Emma, but don’t you dare smear my
mom’s name.”
“See for yourself!” Jacob shoved his phone screen in my face.

It was a surveillance video.
In the video, a woman sneakily entered Emma’s house. After a while, she came out just as sneakily, carrying something in her arms.
The person in the video didn’t show their face clearly, but their build and outfit were very similar to my mom’s.
“The evidence is right here. What else can you say? Abigail, tell your mom to return Emma’s dog right now!”
I looked at the date on the surveillance footage and felt a surge of anger that made me want to laugh.
By that time, my mom was already dead!
Emma, with red–rimmed eyes, spoke up, “Abby, after your mom went to my place yesterday, Buddy disappeared. I know you and your mom don’t like me, but Buddy is innocent. Please, just give him back to me…”
She cried pitifully, looking extremely wronged.
Lucas felt terrible for her and clumsily tried to wipe her tears, “Don’t cry, Emma. I’ll beat up the bad guys for you!”
Then, he ran up and kicked me hard, “Bad mom, tell bad grandma to give Buddy back! Or I’ll let dad beat you both to death!”
What a vicious threat, coming from my own son.
Jacob looked pained and exasperated, “Say something! You and your mom are setting a terrible example for our son! If you don’t change, you’ll lead Lucas astray!”
“My mom didn’t steal any dog. What do you want me to say?!”
I grabbed a broom nearby and tried to chase them out, “Take your son and your woman, and get out of my house!”
The bodyguards rushed forward and pinned me down.
The three of them ransacked the room, searching through closets, boxes, and every corner they could find.
My once clean and tidy home was left in a mess.
On the sofa was a half–knitted sweater my mom had been making for Lucas. They carelessly tossed it in the trash, “Who would wear such an old–fashioned thing anyway?”
That sweater was knitted by my mom, stitch by stitch, with her own hands. And they just trampled on it like that!
I broke free from the bodyguards like a madwoman, rushed over, picked up the sweater, and screamed, “That’s my mom’s thing! How dare you throw it away!”
The once–white sweater was now stained with dirt.
Emma looked lost, while Jacob shielded her behind him, his face indifferent, “It’s just a sweater, why make such a fuss? If it’s dirty, your mom can knit a new one. It’s not like it’s some precious treasure.”
Just as he finished speaking, a bodyguard came in and whispered something in his ear.
After listening, Jacob looked at me, his face ashen. He waved his hand, signaling two bodyguards to grab me and head towards the door.
