Be Your Lover Forever (Alicia)

Chapter 1214

"I was late for less than five minutes when I ran all the way here, and I did not receive any inquiries from her on my cell phone. I ran over from the other side of the road, and I did not see her before I crossed the road. If I minus two minutes, I was, at most, only late for less than two minutes!" He questioned himself in bewilderment.

She didn't answer the call, nor did she reply to his texts. All she did was respond with such a short sentence after a long period?

That woman!

Feeling his blood boiling, Willy was seething that his face turned purple from fury. He did not notice that her reply was "Our date", not "Today's date". Although there was only one word different, it had totally different meanings to them.

It was almost nine o'clock. Without realizing it, he had waited for more than fifty minutes. His seven orifices seeped with smoke. His fingers flew past the keyboard before he dialed her number once more.

"Sorry, the number you have dialed has been turned off..."

After several tries, her phone was turned off.

Gritting his teeth, Willy could barely hold himself back from losing his temper. "Turned off? Turned off!"

That d*mn woman. What an odd temper she had!

Why wouldn't she inform him before leaving?

Well! That said, it was his fault since he was late! Before she left, however, why didn't she ask him where he was? Couldn't he be stuck in the traffic or delayed from an accident for merely two minutes? So be it if she wanted to leave, but she should, at least, give him a heads-up. Why would she want him to waste his time waiting?

That instant, he wanted nothing more than to give her a good beating. After closing his eyes and taking a few deep breaths, only then did Willy manage to suppress the surging emotions in his heart.

If it were to be Laurie, she would have obediently waited for him...noveldrama

All of a sudden, Willy's heart seemed to have been hollowed out. In an instant, all his emotions were replaced by a deep sense of loneliness and regret. His mind lingered with the scene where she waited for him in the lobby of the company and under the bridge. Feeling dispirited, his shoulders drooped.

"Waiting turns out to feel so awful..."

He had waited for less than an hour. Each time, she would wait for such a long period, but as he recalled, she had never complained! Laurie only knew to quietly contribute and would never take the petty issues to heart. It was him. He was the one who had not cherished her. It was him who had lost her!

Turning around, Willy's emotions were stained with sorrow.

By the time he came to his senses, it was raining. Shivering, he rushed to the nearby parking lot.

As soon as he closed the door, the rain began to splatter against the glass. Feeling the need to explain to her, he picked up the phone and dialed the same number.

"Sorry, the number you have dialed has been turned off..."

All at once, his wrath surged again. Willy rolled his eyes in speechlessness. If he had not received her reply, he would have suspected that an incident might have happened to her!

Did she turn off her phone on purpose?

Willy had initially wanted to enjoy a good meal with her before he went on business trips. Never in his wildest dreams would he have expected things to end up in such a manner. Willy could not hold back his fury.

Outside the window, the rain grew increasingly heavy as minutes passed. He withdrew a cigarette and lit it up.

The moment he started the car engine, he turned around.

By the time he arrived at Lauren's door, it was ten o'clock and was raining cats and dogs. He called her a call, but her phone remained turned off. When he got out of the car, Willy was almost sure that she did it on purpose!

He had no choice but to smash the door in the rain.

Soon, the butler, Hart, emerged with an umbrella in hand. Seeing Willy who was wet all over, he was shocked. "Mr. Bowles? You..." "Where is Tevye? I want to see her!"

Willy attempted to make a move, but he was stopped in time. "Mr. Bowles!"

Hart then proceeded to speak in a respectful tone, but he remained blocking Willy's way. "Mr. Bowles, it's late. It's inappropriate!"

"All I want is to say a few words to her!"

"Mr. Bowles, Miss Tevye was busy for the day and is suffering from a mild cold, so she doesn't feel comfortable. She has just fallen asleep and reminded me not to let us disturb her! Mr. Bowles, my apologies, but Miss Tevye doesn't entertain guests at night. You'd better not make things difficult for me! You see...it's inconvenient!"

Hart didn't withdraw his arm, but he tilted to one side and moved the umbrella to give Willy a glimpse of the dark building. It meant that everyone had fallen asleep. Since both of them were men, it wasn't appropriate to disturb the ladies at that hour of the day!

Willy gave a faint sigh. He felt extremely wronged as he thought to himself, "I can't even talk to her!"

His gaze fell on the dark window on the second floor. Willy stood still for a long time.

"Mr. Bowles, no matter what it is, you should come back during the day! Mr. Elijah has always doted on Miss Tevye, so he instructed me to take good care of her. I dare not disobey..."

Willy regained his senses and shot him an icy glare. "So you're pressuring me with your master, huh?"

Was he warning him not to barge in by force?

He had forgotten about Elijah! He had never heard him mentioning Tevye, but since he was willing to send his trusted confidant over to be her butler, it must be true that Elijah cared for her!

"Mr. Bowles, don't blame me. You have a close relationship with Mr. Elijah. I dare not do so!"

Elijah had two right-hand men. Hart

Forbes and Hudson Forbes, the two brothers. One was experienced in handling household affairs for him The other specialized in martial arts and was his special assistant Rumors had it that the two men had been trained by him since they were young, so they could be all described as childhood mates!

Although he had seen the two of them more than once, it seemed to be their first time having a private conversation!

"Why do you sound so insincere

when you say that? Hart, this is Elijah's villa, isn't it? I've never seen nor heard of the eldest daughter of the family. She doesn't look the slightest like Mr. Luther either! By the way, what's her full name? Why didn't she live in Luther's residence? She's a stark contrast to the second daughter of the Luther family, Isla Luther..."

"Mr. Bowles, there's something you don't know! Miss Tevye is a child of Mr. Luther's first wife, and she resembles Mr. Luther's late wife. Her real name is Yesmine Luther. When she was a child, she was really naughty and mischievous. The-

smart girl she was, Mr. Luthere

her the nickname 'Laurie'. Both Mr. Luther and Mr. Elijah often called her 'Laurie'. She used to live in Mr. Luther's old mansion, but since Mr.

Luther misses his first wife, Mr. Elijah picked her up and demanded her to settle down here, claiming that she might lag behind in society if she continues to indulge in the past!"

"So that's how it is!" Laurie, what a coincidence!

Willy murmured, not able to hide his faint disappointment. It was true. The butler of the Luther family, Hart, was around. How could it be made up?

Just then, he did so to deliberately test him out!

"I was too brusque! Could you apologize to her for me? Tell her that I'll treat her to another meal and apologize to her face-to-face..."
