Belong to the Lycan Alpha

Chapter 159

Emergency calls only O

Aiden looked more agitated than usual this morning because he was going to attend his trial. He stared at his reflection on the mirror and couldn’t help, but growl in annoyance. This was not the look that he wanted to see.

He looked so haggard and awful. This was the result of pitying himself for a whole week. His eyes suck to their socket and his complexion looked very pale, as if his skin had never touched the sunlight. His hair was messy and he looked like he lost so much weight. The look of an alpha, who had ended the war with the lycan and killed their alpha was nowhere to be found.. Even he himself pitied the reflection of the man on the mirror. This was not him.

Today Lilac would attend. He couldn’t be seen like this. This was humiliating.

“Are you ready?” Ruby asked, she entered the room to find Aiden was staring at the mirror. His eyes looked empty. “Your mother asked me to check on you.”

Ruby stopped her step for a while, she felt this pity in her heart, but this must be because the remaining of the bond that they shared. Having his mark was one of the foolish decisions she had ever made.

“Aiden?” Ruby approached Aiden, but the man didn’t show any indication that he heard her. “Aiden, are you

okay?”

She stopped right behind him and touched his shoulder to get his attention, but then he flinched and turned

around.

“Ruby?” Aiden called her name, his voice was a mix of sadness and sorrow, which made Ruby’s heart fluttered.

Was he in this so much pain? Why he looked like he was going to cry? And more importantly, why would I care?

Ruby didn’t want to care anymore about him, but it was hard to do so when you were tied by the bond of the

mate.

“Are you… okay?” Ruby couldn’t help, but asked him. She had this urge to reach out to him, to touch him, to console him, which was very ridiculous because she had determined to destroy this man. She didn’t want to care

about him anymore.

And then, something even more unanticipated happened, that was when all of sudden Aiden hugged her. He

hugged her closely. Squeezed her body and rested his face against Ruby’s neck.

“Aidan… wh- what are you doing?” Ruby felt her heart warmed up. She couldn’t remember the last time he hugged her like this. She couldn’t remember when he treated her nicely.

However right now, it felt like her longing for him came forward. She couldn’t deny that deep down, she missed him.

Only if Aiden treated her right, she wouldn’t have done what she did with alpha Ramon, the deal with that alpha would certainly hurt Aiden.

Ruby was in dilemma right now. Was this a chance? Was there still a chance for them to be together happily?

No matter what, Aidan was still the father of her child. There was no way she didn’t feel anything when she intentionally was going to hurt him.

But, Ruby should learn this. How fool she was to think she saw hope in their relationship with only a simple hug. This mere hug didn’t even cut it for what he had done to her all this time and all the hurtful word that came out of his mouth.

Because once again, the moment he opened his mouth, he shattered her heart into pieces.

“I hope I have never seen you. I hope I have never chosen you,” Aiden said with his sad voice that mixed with sorrow. “If I have never met you. I will live happily with my mate and she will be the one, who gave birth to my firstborn.”

Out of instinct, Ruby pushed him away, as she stepped back to see his face. Her eyes widened in disbelieve and what was more annoying was how her tears threatened to come out. She didn’t want to cry, but her tears streamed down her face.

Meanwhile, Aiden simply stared at her, as if he had never done something wrong. Her tears didn’t move him at all. How could Ruby the only one, who felt this strong feeling, while Aiden’s feeling went to Lilac even after what had happened and the rejection?

This was not fair.

Ruby opened her mouth a few times, as if she was trying to find the right word to say, but in the end, she gritted her teeth and turned around.

“Your trial will be held within an hour. You need to be there soon.”

After saying that, Ruby walked out of the room. Her heart felt so heavy. This was not the first time her heart was being broken, but she cursed herself for being very stu pid to think there was a chance for them.

The trial was held in the main hall, where all the alphas attended and in stead of Aiden, it was alpha James, his father, who sat on the chair of the alphas.

Meanwhile, the lunas sat behind their respective partner, waiting for Aiden to make an appearance.

Lilac was sitting next to luna Jasmine. Even without saying anything or looking at her, she could feel how much she hated her now. After all, it was her mate, who had put her precious son into this trial, despite the fact Aiden was the one, who put himself into this trouble.

However, no matter how long they were waiting, Aiden still didn’t come.

“Ask someone to check his bedroom.” Alpha James looked agitated, but somehow, alpha Ramon didn’t look impatient like the rest of the alpha. Probably, it was only him and Hunter, who didn’t seem to be bothered by Aiden’s absent.

Not long after that, the warrior that was ordered to fetch Aiden from his room returned, he looked troubled.

“Alpha James, alpha Aiden is not in his room,” he said, whispering to alpha James’s ear.
