Chapter 395
Chapter 395
Luca’s pov
Sofia met us in that state.
No one had noticed her presence until a gasp tore out of her throat, and then in the next moment, she
was zapping towards Sarah to gently envelop her in her arms.
“What happened to you?” She cried out against Sarah’s head and I watched as she broke down as
soon as Matilda, eager as ever, explained all that had happened in details to Sofia without wasting
time.
“Oh my gosh, Sarah, you shouldn’t have overworked yourself! You should have said something all
these while. You should have requested for a break or for some tone off, Luca would have given it to
you immediately.” Sofia admonished as she gently rocked Sarah in her arms.
“I suggested she did just that, but you know how stubborn she is.” Matilda pointed out.
“I’m not that sick, and besides, you need me here, Armani needs me here. He just got back, he –”
“No, Sarah. Yes, we do need you, but never at the expense of your health. Armani wouldn’t be happy
should he be informed that you’re in this particular situation because of him.” Sofia explained to Sarah
in a low, soothing voice.
“Exactly. That’s what I always say to her. It’s a good thing the master came into the kitchen right in time,
at least now he has given her a leave that she wouldn’t be able to deny or go against.0 Matilda
continued and in the next moment, the three women all huddled on the couch all turned their heads
around to regard me for a moment.
Sofia was the first to avert her gaze, but I had already caught how red rimmed her eyes was, and how
wet her cheeks was.
She really do like Sarah. I noted to myself as I breathed out a small sigh.
Sarah continued to speak to Sarah and Matilda, and as I listened to her speak, I couldn’t help but he in
awe of how sensible she sounded.
She also sound more confident around them right now, compared to how it used to be between them,
back then when she had just gotten married to me.
I heard Sofia sniff again and I jerked my gaze back to her. She was holding Sarah tight and whispering This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
something to her that was making tears slid out from Sarah’s face.
Feeling awkward as hell just standing here and doing nothing, it didn’t take me long to decide on
existing this sitting room for now.
I did just that, making my way towards my office almost immediately, and there, I got my phone out and
made a few phone calls to the doctors which I usually make use of.
The same hospital which Aria was still in.
Which reminded me… Aria.
I haven’t seen her in weeks. Although I told the doctor to give me a call as soon as something happens,
perhaps she opens her eyes or something. But, I got nothing.
That means she’s still in the same condition I last saw her in.
For a moment, I wondered if James used to go visit her on his own, because I knew he liked her, even
though he never admitted that to my face before.
I’m really hoping she’d wake up soon, which reminds me, I’m going to have to pay her a visit this week.
Poor Aria…
It didn’t take me long to set up a schedule with the doctor and for an ambulance to come pick up Sarah
later today.
Once that was done, as I existed my office, I scrolled through my phone while walking.
It was right there, in the hallway, that I came across Sofia.
It was obvious that she had just been coming from the sitting room.
Probably because she wanted to go cry her eyes out on her own, away from Sarah and Matilda –
because, tears were sliding down and cheeks and her sweater paw was pressed over her lips,
probably to stop her sobs from echoing out.
As soon as she spotted me, her eyes widened and she turned around, probably instantly deciding on
going upstairs instead, but I reached out and clasped her wrist to stop her.
She tugged on her wrist and tried to get out of my hold to no avail, because I didn’t bulge.
There was no way I’d leave her on her own right now, cause In a way, seeing her this way seemed like
it was my fault, since there’s something unsolved between us.
I tugged her against me and wrapped my arms around her middle, pulling her against me and stroking
my fingers through her hair.
She stiffened at first, but it only lasted for a few seconds before she melted against me, clutching his
middle tight as she cried into my naked chest.
I had literally forgotten that I hadn’t been writing a shirt.
The feeling of her tears sliding against my bare chest and the feeling of her lithe body between my
arms somehow finslly made me feel sane once again.
This was what I’d have killed to have last night, when it had felt like I had been going insane.
We didn’t say a thing, not a single word was uttered as I comforted her, which in turn, comforted me
and brought some sort of peace over the raging turmoil in my heart.
A very temporary peace to my turmoil, but a little amount of peace, regardless.
Once she finally quieted down, I gently took her by her arms and led her to the bathroom into my office,
and there, I sat her on the counter and gently dabbed at her face with a wet wash cloth.
Her wet lashes were curled and wet with tears which I softly dabbed away. She was looking at me as I
took care of her, and I was doing the same thing as well, our eyes getting locked every few seconds.
She slid off the counter herself once I was done. She opened her mouth next to speak but I shook my
head.
“You haven’t eaten today yet. We both haven’t. Let’s have breakfast first, and then we can have a talk.”
