Beverly

Chapter 29

Clyde Dante

“Thankyou for taking me to dinner, it was lovely.” Anna said and I smiled. Having dinner with Anna is always boring. She rarely talks and everytime I start a new topic… she always got back to talk about herself. How much she loves makeup and how much she loves her nails. Suddenly I’m interested in hearing tuna more than makeup and nails.

Suddenly… everything that I do with Anna became so boring.

“I’m sorry for not trusting you today.” She said as she cupped my face.

“Anna…” I said as I looked into her eyes. Nothing. I feel nothing. Why is it different now?

“Hmm?”

“I don’t think you can trust me anymore.” I said truthfully and her face changed. She put her hand down and looked at me in disbelief.

“Beverly, isn’t it?”All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

“No… it’s me. Beverly was the one who was willing to help to get you again but since we broke up. There’s no spark anymore. I like being with you because somehow you were in my past. I tried to be with you again but… it just doesn’t work anymore.” I said and she suddenly chuckled. I raised my eyebrows.

“Well… I’m glad that you realize it.”

“What?”

“I want to be with you too but… just like you say it doesn’t work anymore. I love your family but the idea of stuck with them… really makes me uncomfortable. There are a lot of things that… makes me really uncomfortable. I was suspicious that you like Beverly but you kept saying no. You kinda proved me that you’re not interested in her but without you’re realizing you do care.” She said and hen she sighed.

“Do you remember when I took you to the mart to go groceries shopping for my house?” She asked and I nodded.

“Without you realizing, you kept saying… ‘Beverly loves this cracker… Beverly loves this tuna a lot… I bet she will love this… You love that stuff? Beverly hates it… Salmon isn’t that good… I love tuna more… These days Beverly has been giving me a lot of tuna…’ Gosh Clyde, why didn’t even you realize it? I was suspicious and became very jealous. Not only you but your family really loves her. She even visited your family after she left.”

“What?” I asked her disbelief.

“My cousin saw her at the Malibu Beach with your family. They’re having fun, talked a lot and they even ate a lot of food.” Anna said and I can’t believe it.

“Sorry, Anna.”

“Well we both do try but it didn’t end up good so… I’m sorry too.”

“I thought you’re going to slap me or something.” I said and she laughed.

“So… Sean and Beverly? Are they really dating?”

“Sean likes her and he knows a lot more about Beverly than I do.” I sighed and she suddenly tapped my chest.

“Man up, Clyde!”

“Easy for you to say.”

“Well… since I’m in New York, I better find hot cute guys to date since my ex-boyfriend here likes another woman.”

“Sorry.”

“Goodluck… you know for tomorrow.” She said and I nodded. She kissed my cheek and then she left. I took a really big breath and looked up to the sky. Gosh… that was kinda easy.

I got into my car and drove back to my house. I parked my car beside the new car that Beverly gave me. I walked into my house to grab the new car key. I unlocked it and got inside. I raised my eyebrows to see a tuna doll on the passenger seat. There’s a note too.

I’m sorry for leaving without telling you

Love,

Tuna

I chuckled reading it and looked at the doll. I smiled and looked at the car. I like the doll better than the car. I got out from the car and walked back into my house. I opened the new iPhone and got a note with a tuna sketch on it. She really loves tuna huh?

I’m sorry for everything. I hope you can forgive me.

Love,

Tuna

I chuckled again looking at it and I can’t believe she made this. I looked at the doll and the notes. I took out my phone and decided to change Beverly’s name into Tuna. I laughed weirdly seeing it.

“I miss her.” I sighed. I decided to call her and I bet she will pick it up.

“Hello.” She picked up.

“Beverly… I lost my sketch for the park section.”

“What?!” She bursted.

“Yup. I lost it.”

“You’re an idi- ugh how can you lost it?” I chuckled secretly because she almost called me an idiot.

“I don’t know.”

“Are you drunk?”

“I kinda are… do you know that frog can fly?” I asked.

“Don’t tell me you eat it! Why are you even drunk?” She asked disbelief.

“I don’t know… I think I flush it into the toilet.” I said and she squealed disbelief.

“Clyde!”

“Yes?”

“Where the heck are you?”

“My house… wow there’s a rainbow up there.”

“It’s 10, you idiot jerkface!” She bursted angrily.

“I think I used the sketch to cut onions.” I said in a drunk tone.

“You’re such a dumb guy!”

“Beverly… there’s a dragon flying holding my sketch in his mouth.” I ended the call and laughed my heart out. The sketch is safe by the way nd it’s in my room. I’m not that clumsy to use my sketch paper to cut onion or… flush it in the toilet. Beverly must think that I’m damn stupid.

“Tuna… you’re going to meet you owner, the Tuna girl.” I said to the doll.

“No… I’m just going to name you Tunayde and Beverly is the Tuna.”
