Chapter 26
Chapter 26
The wolf man.
.. With full speed, he got to the beach and dropped the surfing board close to the waves. He looked, he could hear the yacht zooming. It was just a matter of time before the yacht past the island. The driver wasn’t intending to stop at the island, Damien could tell. He flipped out the system window and scrolled through. He exchanged 3000 experience points for a skill called SURF LORD. He got the level three. Like a pro, he picked up the surfboard and threw it on the nearest steady water, he hopped on it and began to surf as quickly as possible. All he could feel was that his body was moving, his frame pushed down occasionally to ensure force, then he stands up to go faster. “Woo!!!”
He was enjoying it. He had never felt so exhilarated in his life. The crashing breeze against his soft skin and sensation almost made him forget that he had a mission. The yacht zoomed past him up ahead. “Oh shit.”
He was knocked back to reality and increased the velocity and vigor. The yacht had past the island now zooming through the endless blue ocean.
“This is it.”
Damien realized that he needed to be swift. He noticed that he was going far and far away from the island.
He gained momentum on the yacht and hopped off the surfboard. He landed on the deck of the yacht. He pulled out his revolver, he only had one bullet.
Lucky enough for him, there was only a driver. He couldn’t see any other person in sight.
“Hey, bitch!!! Get off my property now!!”
The driver, yelled as soon as he saw Damien. You could tell that the middle aged man was struggling to share his attention between Damien and the steering of the yacht.
“You wish.”
Damien kept advancing towards the man. “I said stop!!!”
The man pulled out a gun, aiming at Damien, while trying to drive. “You don’t want to do that!!!” Damien had no fear. There was no reason to be afraid. He aimed his revolver at the forehead of the man.
Suddenly, Damien heard whimpering from a corner in the yacht. His curious eyes travelled in
the direction. There was a young lady whose hands, legs and mouth were tied. She looked pale and a side of her face swollen.
“Who’s she?” “My wife!! You have a problem with that?” The man switched his aim and aimed at the lady.
“Get the fuck off now. I won’t warn you again. Do anything stupid and she die!!!” Damien could tell by the devilish eyes of the man that he wasn’t trolling. He really meant it. Yet Damien tried to take a risk. He took a step forward and the man shot! But not at her. He shot at the body of yacht next to her. She shuddered, shivering in shock.
“You’ll shoot your wife?” Damien couldn’t believe his eyes. “Take another step and you’ll get the answer.”
The man looked like a bitter bastard. Damien was racking his brain. He needed to act quickly. But he needed to buy a little time.
“How could you do this to your wife?”
Damien couldn’t help but pity the woman. “Who gives you the right to judge me? She’s just some dumb bitch who wouldn’t –”
Damien let a bullet out which sank in the forehead of the man. The man dropped down dead.
Damien hurried to the woman and untied her. Gaining her freedom, she rushed to the corpse of her husband and began to wail.
“How could you do that?”
She blamed Damien. He got really mad and yelled at her, “Are you dumb or stupid? Let’s say you were both of those… Are you also blind? What if I’d taken a step and he’d shot you, do you think he would be regretting his actions? Did you even know what I missed by saving you? I guess I shoulda just let him kill you.”
He turned away from her. He realized that he didn’t have to take out his rage on her. The rage he’d been keeping since he left the girls. How could he had used her as a scapegoat? Probably because she was a stranger.
“Can you drive a yacht?” He had turned back reluctantly to her. She looked up at him, her eyes were red. She nodded at his question. Damien couldn’t help but feel pity for her. “How far is your home from here?” “Several hours, but I’ll be fine.”
“You should return home.”
He walked away from her to the edge of the yacht. He heard her call.
“Thank you for saving me.”
He looked at her with no precise expression.
“You don’t want to take the corpse home with you.”
She smiled at him. His eyes strayed to a fancy surfboard he didn’t notice earlier.
“Can I use that?”
“Of course.” He walked back to the surfboard and picked it. He couldn’t find his anymore. It must have been driven away by the waves when he abandoned it. “Goodbye then.”
He was now on the surfboard, on the ocean, trying to regulate his balance
“Thanks for not asking me what happened.”
He smiled back at her and surfed away. Was that even a thing? He wasn’t interested in her problems that was why he didn’t ask her any questions. But he didn’t have to tell her that. (Ping! Lost the yacht and lost 5000 experience points.] Damien should care that he lost the points, but he didn’t. He had just knuckled under a new discovery THERE’S LIFE OUTSIDE THERE. THE MISSILES DIDN’T MEAN THE END OF THE WORLD. THERE’S HOPE FOR ME. ESCAPING THIS ISLAND IS CERTAIN!
He smiled sheepishly at himself at the thought. The thoughts of the balls of gold gave him joy.
The surfboard was tightly pressed to his side, under his left arm, as he walked through the woods.
I WILL KEEP IT AWAY FROM THE GIRLS. IF I TELL THEM NOW, THEY WILL ACT IRRATIONALLY, LETTING THEIR EMOTIONS RULE THEM. AT THE END, MIGHT LOSE THEIR LIVES. PLUS, WHO KNOWS HOW FAR IS LAS VEGAS FROM HERE? THIS MIDDLE OF NOWHERE!!!
near the watchtower. He walked in and placed
Damien got to the small wooden roo. the surfboard in the right corner.
“She didn’t come back.”
He muttered, looking at the empty room. He sighed and walked out. Making to return home. Allison had been alone all day long. Evening was approaching. Then he began to hear the cries of the girls from distance. It was quite a luck that the girls found a cave which wasn’t too far from the watchtower.
“What was that?”
He swallowed and began to run in the direction of the noise. When he got there, he saw the girls clinging to one another in fear. There was a wild animal growling at them.
Teriman
“No way.”
Damien was very surprised to see the white wolf. The wolf was advancing at Claire, she was the one standing at the front, trying to fit the position she’d created for herself. Damien knew that it was just a matter of time before the wolf snapped at her body. “Hey!!!”
He called on top of his voice. All the girls looked in his direction, but he wasn’t looking at them. He was looking at the wolf. His voice made the wolf turn. Seeing him, the growling wolf slowly began to calm. Damien walked closer to the white wolf. “Don’t, Damien.” NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
“It’ll kill you.” *
“Let him be, he likes to show off.”
Damien paid no attention to none of the girls. He was worried enough. His heart was in his mouth. He didn’t plan to attack the wolf. He wanted to —
The wolf slowly walked to him and put her down. Damien was flustered. His heart thumped violently in his chest. He felt so refreshed. The feeling was close to being on top of the world.
He squatted by the wolf. He wasn’t sure of what he was doing. He slowly brought his hand down till it touched the fur of the Wolf’s head. The wolf didn’t make a fuss. He began to caress.
“There girl… good girl…” The girls watched in awe. Gaping.
