Fated is overrated

Chapter 17

Chris

POV

What the F*CK has just happened? No, really, WHAT THE HELL? I watched the whole scene unfold like it usually does, Ashton beating the shit out the disrespectful brat. She always takes the punches like the sad omega wolf she is so what happened just now? My head still can't wrap around it.

Did she really just kick the sh*t out of my Beta like that?! An omega and not to mention a female? I know he only lost because she caught him completely off guard.

Hell, she caught us all off guard. We were all just standing there like idi*ts watching the whole thing, while we should have helped Ashton. But we were all too stunned watching with our mouths agape, rooted to the spot.

We shouldn't have even needed to help him though. Regardless of being caught off guard - he is the strongest in line after me. He should have gotten a hold of it sooner, but he let himself be thrown off guard constantly by his opponent which is a big mistake in any battle and I'll be sure to talk to him to never underestimate an opponent in the future. I am still dazed when I hear the teacher commanding us to the principal's office.

Looking at my friends I can tell they are too, we are all still rooted to the spot with shocked expressions on our faces. Lola on the other hand has already stormed out of class, I assume towards the principal's office.

"Erhm... let's go guys" I meet their gazes and can tell none of us will even know what to say to the principal. We look like lost little puppies right about now. Many paragraphs are missing. Read the complete book on J o bn ib.com. I need to get a grip on myself. Broadening my shoulders and lifting my chin, I hope to feign some confidence as we walk towards the principal's office. The entire walk there, none of us talk.

Upon entering his office I notice Lola is already seated on the far left chair, facing towards the left wall and still completely fuming.

Her arms are crossed and she is leaning as far away from the other chairs as possible. Ashton, Kendrick, Nigel and I proceed to sit on the other chairs. None of us are talking and the tension is palpable, you could cut it with a knife.

"So. Any of you want to start first and care to explain what happened?" the principal speaks with his most authoritative voice. Although my father is in charge of the school (as it is a part of the pack), they have a good relationship together and I know better than to let the principal get any air on what has been happening regarding Lola.

My father would immediately be informed and I would never hear the end of the lecture he would give me, not to mention the disappointing looks I would be receiving. My father is a great man, but too soft for his own good and too kind for the weak. When I take over, people will have to learn their place and remember not to mess with the Alpha, especially not those weak females.

Snapping from my thoughts I decide to speak up "there was just an argument between Lola and Ashton, nothing more". Lola's head snaps in my direction, with a look on her face indicating she is ready to kill.

She is normally always so soft spoken and happy go lucky, this new side of her today is a surprise to say the least. A bad one though. Females need to know their place and obey men.

"That is not what I heard from your teacher. Care to try again?" before I can speak up I hear a snort on our left "an argument? Is that what you call beating up a female for no reason, not to mention using your wolf powers?".

Anger flares inside me at her defiance. She should know better than to snitch on us. I will personally teach her a lesson as soon as we step outside of school today.

I can feel my wolf fighting for control, but I can't let him with the principal here, who is giving me a scrutinizing look as it is. I try to keep my cool but then she goes ahead and pipes up again "maybe you should tell the principal how I got my face bashed in a few weeks ago, Chris? Sorry, I mean Alpha" stretching the title to bring across the exact point she is trying to make. That I should be protecting my people.

But I don't owe anyone anything, and especially not defiant little b*tches like her. I can't help the growl that escapes from my chest and I know my eyes have gone black.

The principal is looking at me with intensity, monitoring our interaction, and I know he is connecting the dots. "Care to explain that, Chris? I have been asking Lola about that incident, but she has remained silent until now and I intend to find out why". This b*tch! I know I need to say something, anything, to diffuse the situation. But I honestly can't think of what to say at this moment. Before I can register or try to stop him, Ashton decides to join the proverbial party. Once again reminding me my Beta is all muscle and no brains "look, sir. Lola keeps getting into altercations with us because she keeps disrespecting us.

As the ranked members of our pack she needs to show us the respect we are entitled to. And we are rightfully teaching her not to disrespect us".

Well that couldn't have gone any worse than that, my goddess.... I mind link him 'you idiot!!!, while I hear the principal clear his throat, here it comes."

Thank you for your input, Ashton. With that, I have heard enough. All of you except Lola are excused from my office", giving me a side look that is telling me he is going to talk this through with my father. F*ck. She is so dead once she leaves the school premises tonight! This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.
