Chapter 59
Noah
I was confused, as I kept wondering what turnaround the man who had introduced himself as Chase kept talking about.
And why did they have to abduct me to give my life the so-called turnaround he was talking about?
I looked around, taking my time to stare at the faces of each of the men there, and I could tell that they were some form of important person.
They looked like they had a lot going on with them, but none of them looked familiar, which still made me wonder why they abducted me.
Though I was a bit certain that they weren’t working for Jasmine’s mates, I wasn’t sure about what they wanted from me.
Chase pointed to one of the men, “Could you please explain to him why he was brought here, to clear his doubts.” He stated, stepping aside.
The man nodded and smiled as he walked to me, placing a hand on my shoulder, he began, “I would like to welcome you to our midst first.” He said, still with a smile on his face.
“You are welcome.” They all chorused.
I was still so confused, and I couldn’t wait for him to explain and clear my confusion. Who were they? Why did they abduct me only to tell me they were going to change my life, what do they want from me? I couldn’t wait to get answers to these questions.
He cleared his throat, “I am a friend of your late father, and each one of us here has had one of two encounters with your father,” he began.
My father? My heart began to race, hearing about my father had always made my heart race.
He walked to where he was sitting before and came back with a small box which he handed over to me.
“You might be finding it difficult to believe, so I have brought this with me.” He said and opened the box, bringing out the locket that belonged to my father, “This is your father’s locket, I picked it up after he was killed.”
I took the locket from him, and my eyes filled to the brim with tears as the memories of my family raced through my mind.
The laughter, the happiness, the pain, and the joy we shared swept through my mind, and my heart was crushed into millions of pieces. All of that had washed down the drain, and I was now alone, alone with the pain and despair.
“I witnessed him getting killed by Alpha Devon, the youngest of the triplet alphas.”
The man turned me to face him, his hands on my shoulders, “I was there and watched helplessly as Devon split your father’s head into two equal parts with b***d gushing out, killing him instantly. It was such a horrible pitiable sight. I watched them kill my friend and I was unable to do anything. How could I, their army was much stronger and well-armed than ours,”
My b***d boiled as I listened to him talk about how my father was killed, and how he was brutally killed for nothing.
All I could feel was revenge, I wanted to get my revenge on those who did that to my dad, they had no pay.
“I would have done just anything to save him, I would have fought hard for him to be alive, but I didn’t have the support and weapons I needed, so I couldn’t do anything.” The man went on. I could see the pain and anger on his face, it was written on his face. “it was a very bloody battle, one that also ended the life Lucas Amel, father of their current Luna,”
“I don’t understand, are you saying that the current Luna got married to the same people that killed her father,”
“It is exactly like you have said it,” Chase answered. “I guess money and power do make people forget who they are,” he added.
“Your father was a great man, and no day passes by without me thinking about him, he was a good friend,” He said as he slumped his head.
He kept his head bent for minutes, and I could see the tears in his eyes when he finally looked up. I didn’t know what to say to him if I should be angry that he couldn’t save my father when he needed his help or if I should condone him.
I believed he would have saved my father if he had the chance and the ability to do that, but I could feel that he didn’t have what it takes then.
“I am so sorry that I couldn’t save your father.” He sniffled, holding my hands with his eyes pleading, “I could have saved him if it happened now, but then, I didn’t have the support and weapon I needed to face those alphas, I hope you can forgive me, Noah.” He mumbled and pulled me into his arms.
I could understand him, and it wasn’t his fault. I wrapped my hands around him, moving my hand back and forth on his back as I tried to console him.
He pulled back suddenly and held me by my shoulder, he shook his head.
“ but now that you are old enough to revenge your father, now is the time for us to come together! To defeat those alphas and their sons,” He stated.
Despite wanting to believe all he was saying I couldn’t help but wonder what his interest was in working with him. I had been working alone for my revenge and goal for years now, and I didn’t understand what I stood to gain from joining them.
I turned to Chase. “What are your intentions and what do you stand to gain from this alliance?” I asked.© 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
He smiled, “My gain would be seeing you avenge your father’s death by taking down your enemies.” He responded, tapping my shoulders, “I want to watch you trash down the ones who took your father away. There will be no amount of joy compared to watching you tear to pieces the ones who killed your father.” He said.
Deep down I could tell that there was more than he was letting out. Being a rogue myself, I knew there was no way he was going to be me without getting something in return.
But since I was yet to have a reason to doubt his intentions, I asked the only question that I felt was needed at that moment.
“How do you intend to make me avenge my father’s death?” I asked, curiously.
He looked at me and chuckled, “I like the fact that you are so smart, come with me.” He said and led the way back to the hallway.
I followed right behind him, wondering where he was taking me and what type of power this man possessed.
The other men also joined us as we followed Chase’s lead. He got to one of the doors and opened it, gesturing that I come along with him.
I held out a loud sigh before entering the room with him. My mouth fell open with surprise as I stepped in.
How many years, how long did it take to have such a collection? How did he get so many weapons? I had never seen a large collection of weapons all my life, how could one person have so many weapons in his possession?
I turned to him, my eyes widened with surprise, I couldn’t believe it. There were shelves on each corner of the room, filled with rifles, guns, and weapons of different sorts, I had never in my life seen so many weapons.
I moved closer to the shelves, touching the rifles and the bullets that were placed beside each, wondering if they were real or just a facade.
I turned back to Chase and all he had on his face was a wide grin, and it was the same on the rest of the men’s faces. All these looked so surprising but he had just a normal look on his face, indicating that this wasn’t new to them and I was the only one who was seeing such a collection for the first time.
“How?” I asked, “How did you have so many weapons?”
He chuckled, moving closer to me, “This is small to what I have in my possession.” He smiled.
“How did you obtain them?” I asked, curiously.
“Smuggling weapons like this is my family’s main business.” He smiled, “This is nothing.”
I was still dazzled by what was before, my thoughts swaying through the shelves when someone tapped me.
I turned to find one of the men who handed a box over to me, I took it from him and placed it on the table which was at the center of the room.
I opened the box to find my father’s old sword. My mouth dropped, I never thought I could set my eyes on it again.
Chase patted my shoulder softly and murmured, “Do not let your father’s death go in vain, you have to avenge his death. We are ready to give you every support and weapon you need!”
His words fed the revenge bawling inside of me, my b***d rustled as I touched the sword. At that moment I decided that whatever it took, I was going to avenge my father’s death!
