Chapter 31 Medical Mission in Tarlac
Aaron is growing up so fast. After his first-hand experience going with his cousins in Peru for the medical mission, he becomes more respectful and polite with the elderly and the people with medical conditions. This time, its medical mission hosted by his parents and business associates, and colleagues in Aeta's community in Tarlac.
Aaron hurry up, I don't want your cousins waiting in the airport for hours.
I am coming to Mom, I'm in front of the mirror checking if I'm handsome enough for their friend Melanie.
Opps....you mean Dr. Melanie Osea? Do you have a crush on her?
Yes, Mom....I like her a lot.
My son is a grown man now. Did you hear that Ari, has a crush on Dr. Melanie?
I hear you both loud and clear. Hurry up Aaron, we should be going, I wanted to avoid the traffic and I don't want Yssabelle and Simone waiting at the airport.
Dad, they are traveling in groups. Doctors without borders had fun on all their trips, they don't mind waiting at the airport. Remember, I was with them last year in Peru.
We are hosting them, Aaron, hurry up!
Okay, okay I'm coming.
Hannah is just observing father and son bickering each other.
As expected, its traffic from Tarlac all the way to Manila International Airport. They are traveling with 2 more vans to accommodate the doctors and medical staff for the Doctors Without Borders medical mission in Sepang Kawayan Village, Capas Tarlac.
The resident of Sepang Kawayan Village is 18,000 indigenous Aeta families. These families need medical attention thus Ari Davis of Davis's group of companies created advocacy headed by his wife Hannah Davis to invite foreign doctors to help. Yssabbella and Simone, her nieces are active in Doctors Without Borders. They traveled as far as Peru, Guatemala, and Costa Rica to help out indigenous tribe members with their medical needs. Hannah requested the group to help out the Aeta's in Tarlac and was granted. The Davis Group of Company is the main player and the members are 6 more private businesses to support the advocacy.
Yssabbella is a neurologist, Simone is a pediatrician both are practicing doctors at Stanford Health Care in Palo Alto, California. The mission group is headed by Dr. Trixie Hart, a practicing medical doctor at Santa Clara Valley Medical group. The group has 6 practicing doctors, 8 nurses, and 4 medical staffers. They will be housed at The Farmhouse which is owned by one of the sponsors. However, Yssabbella and Simone, and 2 more doctors will be staying at the Davis home.
The medical mission is good for 7 days, then the sponsors will bring them to Boracay for a 3 days R and R before flying them out to California.
Hannah is busy with the registrations and assigning patients to the doctors with the help of more than 10 staff. Additional staff was assigned to food preparations and transportation. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
Ari and the rest of his co-sponsors are also helping out to provide security and order.
It was a tiring but productive day. Ari did not fail to check on Hannah. He was very attentive to his wife.
One of the nurses told Aaron, your parents are the sweetest couple I've seen so far.
Oh yeah, they have a meal together 5 times a day without fail. I always caught my Dad kissing her almost every day and their hands are always intertwined and touchy with each other.
When my Mom will attend the school meeting, in 30 minutes Dad will follow.
Wow, you really lucky to have them as your parents Aaron.
Yeah, I know I am lucky but sometimes too much display of affection is killing me. My schoolmates tease me. Sometimes, I am embarrassed ....ohhhh, don't tell them that. I don't want to hurt my parents, especially my Mom.
Hey Aaron, have you seen Dr. Melanie?
I am looking for her too, her lunch pack is with me.
Hey! Aaron, where's mine and Simone's? I can't believe that you did not get mine and Simone's lunch pack
Yssabella is teasing Aaron.....
Okay, I'll go and get your's and Simone's.
No need, I got them! Ari said.
Dad, sorry! I was about to get them.
It's okay son, I got your's too and your Mom's.
Remember this son, family first. You have to learn that. I know you liked Dr. Melanie but don't forget to secure your family first.
Yes, Dad. I am sorry!
Ari just nods, he did not show his disappointment to Aaron. He continued saying to Aaron...You have to learn how to be a good person Aaron. It always starts with the family.
