Luna Of The 40
"JUST STAY BEHIND MY BACK,"
As soon as the Alpha King onders Helga to stay behind him, she can't help but comply. She bites her lip, noting that this is the first time she's experienced such a powerful command from him. Even when he used his authority on her in the past, wasn't as strong and she was able to resist it, like during the full moon incident. This makes her realize that he had been holding back before, perhaps because he didn't care much. But now, his determination to protect Helga compels him to use his full force of command to ensure she follows his orders without he itation. "Do the guards on patrol notice who is attempting to attack the land?" Helga asked, walking closely behind him as they made their way through the forest just outside the mansion's walls. "No, but I could sense that it's Sierra," His voice was steady, but Helga could hear made her feel a lump forming in her throat. If his sister was here to harm them inderlying tension in his words, which

the palace had been discovered. However, Helga couldn't help but wonder how Sacra knew they were on this island. It seemed like she was still fully aware of everything going on in her brother's life.
"If that's the case, does that mean there are still spies within the royal pack?" she asked, and Siegren nodded.
The thought had crossed his mind as soon as he sensed her sister's presence, but what intrigued him was why she didn't try to conceal her scent and instead made it known that she was near. "What are your plans? Are you going to fight her?" Helga's voice was laced with worry, which only intensified the knot growing in his stomach. As soon as he felt Sierra's presence, he was already set on protecting Helga. After all, it was Dat was in danger, the same woman who his sister was after. life
"If she poses a danger to you, then yes," he answered without hesitation, and this only heightened Helga's worry that the situation could escalate beyond what she had expected. She had hoped for justice to be served when she discovered that Siegren's sister was responsible for the deaths of the other candidates and the attack on her, but she didn't want to see the siblings hurt each other, especially after learning of their close bond in childhood.
The bitter taste of regret lingered in Helga's mouth as she thought about Siegren and his sister's past. If only the previous Alpha King had not forced Sierra into a loveless marriage, she and Siegren could have ruled the country together with their combined intelligence and strength. But instead, they were now an estranged family, torn apart by duty and beliefs. "Can you even afford to hurt her?" The weight of Helga's question hung heavy in the air, carried by the wind as it rustled through the branches of the trees surrounding them. Suddenly, the royal guards behind them began to shift and transform into their wolf forms, gracefully bounding ahead to scout for any potential dangers lurking in their path. Siegren shot a quick look at Helga before picking up the pace, his boots crunching on the fallen leaves and twigs that littered the forest floor
"I can't, but if push comes to shove..." he paused for a moment before adding, "I can always kill her if she dares attack you in my presence. I won't tolerate her harming my mate and Luna."
The statement Siegren had uttered filled Helga with a mix of anxiety and gratitude. She appreciated his dedication as her husband, but she couldn't shake the fear that he might actually harm the only blood relatives he had left, and it weighed heavily on her mind, "But-"Helga's sentence was cut off mid-word by the deafening sound of gunshots that reverberated through the dense forest. Both she and Siegren froze as they looked at each other. Without hesitation, they turned and ran toward the source of the noise, their feet pounding against the soft forest floor. As they emerged into a spacious clearing just below the looming mountain rock, the bright moonlight illuminated a chaotic scene before them.
The enemy wolves howled and snarled; their sharp teeth bared as they launched themselves at the royal guard. The defenders fought back with all their might, some transforming into their wolf forms while others brandished 000 protect the island from the invaders. The Alpha King and Helga stood on the sidelines as they watched-how they were surrounded on all sides by the overwhelming number of attackers. Despite being heavily outnumbered, the royal guard held their ground, determined to protect their island at all costs.

"Siegren, fell from her lips like a plea. While she focused on the wolves attacking each other and the humans still fighting in a chaotic dance of bullets and blows, Siegren's attention was fixated on something else entirely. The air was thick with tension and the metallic smell of blood as if they were indeed in the midst of a war. Helga could feel her heart pounding in her chest as she watched the intense battle unfold before them.
"If you're not going to help, then I will-"For the second time, her sentence was interrupted. But this time, it was because Siegren grabbed her and pulled her closer, furning towards the forest where a cloaked figure emerged from the shadows. The Alpha King's deep growl caused Helga to freeze in fear, especially when she felt him tensed up, ready to attack whoever dared to approach them. He quickly shielded her behind his body, his skin radi at as if he could shift into his wolf form any moment. Then, abruptly, he froze in place. The figure in the cloak slowly reached up and pulled back the hood, revealing a woman with short black hair that shimmered in the moonlight. Her golden eyes glinted like stars, piercing through the darkness of the night. It took Siegren only a moment to recognize her, and it sent a chill down his spije. The eerie sounds of groans, growls, and screams echoed through the air, accompanied by the rustling of trees under the weight of ari unexpected reunion.
"It's been a while, brother."
