Chapter 7 A Stroke of Cosmic Karma
Edmond returned to work at the hospital. Once the waiting patients had left, his colleague, Alan Canning, stealthily closed the door with a penchant for gossip.
"Dr. Agos, you took leave last Friday. Telling me you were getting a marriage certificate. That was a joke, right?"
"No, it was real."
"Holy shit! Who is the unlucky one then?"
Alan blurted out inadvertently.
Edmond heard, took it in stride, and looked at Alan with a playful smile in his enchanting eyes.
Alan asked, "The woman must be pretty, right? With a great figure?"
He thought for a few seconds, his mouth curling into a smirk. "A knockout."
Another "holy shit" flew out of Alan's mouth.
"Dr. Agos, will you ever settle down?"
"What do you think?"
"I think not."
Edmond watched him with interest.
Alan gathered the courage to continue.
"People like you, inherently a playboy, surely live a life of indulgence and freedom! How could you become chaste just because you married a beautiful woman? There was a nurse who saw you taking a keychain from your drawer and staring at it for a long time. They secretly speculated that you are a love-struck man. And then you went to a bar to pick up hotties over the weekend. That was hilarious! Most women are so unrealistic, always thinking they can tame a wild stallion."
Edmond's gaze flickered and fell on the drawer, silent.
Most women are unrealistic?
Not all, necessarily.

Alicia received a phone call from Grace that evening.
Grace was extremely excited.
"Bestie, guess what explosive news I heard?"
"Your ex died in a car accident?"
"I wish! But the gossip I have is about Edmond."
"He's had more scandals than I've had hot dinners. What's so intriguing?"
Grace laughed cunningly.
"He brought eight girls up to his hotel room at Mint Bar the other day."
Sitting in the dining room with her phone on speaker, Alicia turned on the hands-free, took a sip of her hot milk, and responded nonchalantly.
"I know."
"And guess what? He didn't touch a single one of them. He sent them all away! This didn't create much of a stir initially, but then someone on the forum claimed that none of the women he's ever dated have ever really been touched. They've kept quiet because Edmond paid them off. Oh my god, I believe you now, bestie. Edmond really is impotent!"
He hasn't touched any of them?
Pure nonsense.
Edmond tormented her until late at night that day. He didn't seem to be the abstinent type at all!
Just yesterday, he was intimate with Diane, and the photo was in her inbox this morning.
She wouldn't believe for a second that he hadn't touched other women.
Alicia was about to retort when there was a clicking sound from the front door.
Her face changed.
She looked up to see Edmond changing his shoes at the entrance, his expression as calm as a pond without a ripple.
"bestie, why aren't you saying anything? Are you so happy that you're speechless? Well, isn't this a stroke of cosmic karma? It looks like Edmond has finally drained his vitality, hasn't he? Hahaha..."
Grace's crazed laughter blared through the loudspeaker, echoing through the empty villa.
Alicia nervously hung up.
Edmond, having changed his shoes, shot her a meaningful look before heading upstairs.
She felt somewhat annoyed.
If she'd known he was coming back to the villa today, she would have gone to her own apartment.
After some thought, Alicia decided to move to the guest room to sleep.
Calculating that Edmond should still be taking his shower, she stealthily sneaked into the room to gather her belongings, only to find him leaning against the balcony railing, smoking.
His white shirt was fully unbuttoned, half-open, revealing his muscular chest and abdomen.
His eyes squinted slightly. He watched her through the smoke, a teasing smile on his lips.
Alicia had to admit Edmond was incredibly attractive, but she didn't believe his hormone-fueled allure was because he was interested in her. Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
Perhaps he wanted to disprove the rumors circulating outside.
After a while, the man opened his lips slightly.
"So, I heard you've been telling everyone I'm impotent?"
