Chapter 3: Tell A Lie
Chapter 3: Tell A Lie
"I knew that he had nothing on him."
I march out angrily, my hands almost breaking the door as I walk through.
"His only help was to stare at me."
"At least he didn't ask you on a date."
When she says this, I stop and turn to her.
"I wanted him to ask me on a date.I would have accepted so that I could stare at him with wide eyes and an open mouth all through."
I begin to walk away after my remark, following the path that led us here.
"Or you just wanted to have a brand new boy toy."
"I don’t have boy toys, Trixie."
I breathe out and stop when I accept the fact that I can’t go home easily without a portal.
"Sure you don't."
Her sarcastic tone comes to my hearing.
"I think that it's almost dinner."
"And how does that relate to me?"
She squints at me and places her hands on her hips.
"You said you would be back before midnight, not before dinner."
"Can you just open a portal for me?"
"Why would I do that?"
"Please."
My voice decreases.
"Please can you send me back home."
"Fine."
She rolls her eyes and immediately a portal appears on where I stand.
My eyes widen and I begin to fall inside till I land on something bouncy...my bed.
I look up, glaring at the portal over my head.Trixie pokes her head out with a silly grin.
"Have fun at home and don't get any more boy toys."
The door opens slowly, stopping me from responding to her though my ears picks up the sound of the portal closing.
"Princess Isabella."
A male guard hovers at the door of my room and I search his face, wondering if I have an appointment with him.
He certainly doesn’t look like any of the males I have laid with.
His eyes moves away from me with anxiety and I jump out of my bed with zero effort.
"Is there any problem?"
"The King and Queen would like to see you in their office."
He bows his head in my direction and turns on his feet to leave.
I am not surprised that my aunt sensed when I came in.
My next actions are to take a quick shower and put on some fresh clothes.
When I am done, I walk to their office and as I open the door, I feel the heat of my uncle’s glare.
Beside him is my aunt and two cousins.
I have a hunch of what this is about but I keep silent.
If I act out I will only be confirming it to them.
"I thought I made the ‘wait for your mate’ rule very clear."
"Yes, you did." I nod at my uncle's words.
"And I simply decided not to follow it."
"You simply decided not to follow it."
My uncle’s voice fills with venom as his glare becomes more intense.
I look away from his eyes immediately and I bow my head, exposing my neck to him but I don’t stop my sharp tongue from allowing me to speak.
"That’s what I said and besides, you didn’t wait for your mate, a whole lot of males don’t do that.So why should I? I don’t need a mate anyway."
A thunderous growl vibrates in the room, if my wolf wasn't blocked she would have flattened down her ears in submission but I am alone in my head.
"Do not speak to me like that."
I don’t have to raise my head to know that my aunt is trying to help him control his wolf.
He did sleep with other females before he met her, what's the big deal of me sleeping around then.
There is a high chance that my mate- if I have one- has been doing the same thing all his life.
Werewolves have very high hormones and sometimes we need a way of blowing off steam.
I turn to my cousins, my glare focused on Ronald.
"You sold me out." Summer nods, answering for him.
"Yes, he did. He sold you out without even getting any benefits."
"You should be ashamed of your brother, Summer."
I shake my head at him as he keeps mute, not wanting to say anything that will get him into trouble.
"l am ashamed of him, very very deeply."
She also shakes her head at him and her long dark hair bounces around her shoulders.
Aunt Minerva’s eyes widen and she turns to little Summer while my head keeps giving me warning signs.
"You knew about this. You are involved in this too?"
"Yes, she did."
The mute Ronald speaks with the clear aim of putting his sister into trouble.
She turns to him and steps on his foot, very hardly with her pretty little face blank.
"l am only twelve! I can’t do that."
She emphasize , her little voice coming out in a squeal. The little devil of my world...Her mother keeps her gaze on her and so does her father.
"Summer, did you know what Isabella was doing is a bad thing to do in her case?" I ignore the glare that my aunt throws at me for a second before she looks back at my little cousin.
Summer shakes her heads and whispers out.
"No, it’s no bad.She told me that it’s not bad."
I look for a seat and when I am seated, I hide my smirk.Oh, she is good.
"Because it isn’t bad.I have no idea why you guys are worrying. It's not like I am pregnant."
I whisper out the last sentence but they are able to hear me and the next things I am looking at are wide eyes.
"Are you pregnant?" My uncle asks.
"Of course not. I'd be very stupid to let myself get pregnant."
"I'm glad you know that."
Ronald whispers under his breath and my eyes snaps to him.
"Say another word and I'll cut you open and use your intestines as a skipping rope."
"If only you knew how to skip."
His eyes darkens when he say this, just like I expected.
"You won't be able to try that because I am going to use your eyes for a torchlight."
"Ronald, Ronald." I tisked in mockery.
"All talk but no bite. I'd like to see you touch my precious eyeballs."
He opens his mouth, ready to say something as a comeback but he ends up been stepped on by Summer again.
"Shit!"
I almost laugh at his facial expression.
"Mom wants to say something and you two keep talking."
She states and Ronald winces in pain.
"Then why didn’t you step on Isabella, too?"
"Because she is far away from me, you are much more closer."
Her eyes turns to me as she stands on her feet.
"I feel like I am the only adult here and I am positive when I say that this is meeting is adjourned."
She is been slowly put back to her seat by her mother as the moment ends quickly.
Uncle Sebastian hasn't said a word for a while and it keeps me on my toes.
His eyes watches me like a hawk, almost like he can see through everything but I know that he really can’t.
Summer is very likely to have hidden everything that points fingers to me or her and here is the catch, she hides things so well that even I am not able to find it.And I should be able to find them...
"You will be in charge of the new team’s training from now on." He speaks, knocking me out of my mild reverie.
"You are referring to the wolves that recently got their abilities. The wolves that have no control over their emotions. The newly turned." I shake my head with a laugh after my emphasis.
"No, I will not be a babysitter for pups."
"Yes, you will be their babysitter,’ He leans forward in his chair.
"You know why, because I say so." I watch them stand to their feet and my eyes doesn’t leave my uncle.
He stares at me too.
"Training starts tomorrow."
They walk out of the room, leaving me staring at the wall and immediately the door closes, I stomp my foot on the ground with force.
The ground doesn’t take the force I use, it breaks and my foot passes through.
I roll my eyes at its weakness.
"For a werewolf you can’t keep your mouth shut."
I smirk at my own words as I pull my foot out of the hole carefully and I stand on my feet.
Ronald and Summer are still seated in front of me and their eyes never leaves my face.
"I agree with my cousin, brother. You blabber too much."
Summer turns to her brother who lets out a scoff.
"Mom was already on to it and she thought that I was involved."
"Have you ever heard of a lie before?" Summer raises an eyebrow.
"You're a full werewolf and I am a full fey.I can’t lie, I can only twist my words but you can lie.You have the freedom of speech."
"Mom knows when I tell a lie." It’s my turn to scoff at his useless attempt of an excuse .
"That's because you don’t know how to lie, Ronald.Perhaps you need me to teach you that too."
"I don't need you to teach me anything."His eyes narrows.
"You're going to be the king, Ronald, and you don’t know how to lie or manipulate people.I'm disappointed."
I turn to his sister who says nothing.
"Come on, Summer. We have things to discuss."
She obeys and stands on her feet, leaving her brother behind.
We walk out of the room and when we have gotten to a far distance, clear from anyone’s hearing and view, she speaks.
"I cleaned up everything like you planned."
"What about Romeo?" I ask as we keep walking.
"Just as the other Romeos before him, he won't remember a thing. To them, you are just the wolf princess that they are guarding." I nod in satisfaction.
"Good, like always." Then I turn to her as I stop, she stops with me too.
She is barely up to my chest so I have to squat down to her height.
"Now, the cats out of the bag." Her blue eyes narrows.
She inherited them from her father.
"It's all because of my doofus brother.Maybe, I could use this to my advance to get back at him."
"Perhaps, or maybe, he is already expecting it but that’s not what I want to talk about."
Her eyes turns curious when I say this.
"What's that? Did you buy a gun for me?"
"No."
I frown and the curiosity in her eyes disappears.
"Why would you want to own a gun."
"Never mind that." She waves it off.
"What do you want to tell me."
Her eyes holds a new form of curiosity.
"I want you to promise me that you won't follow what I am doing." I say.
"But you aren't doing anything bad." I sigh out when she says this.
"I tell myself that it isn’t bad but I know that it is and you know that too." I intertwine our pinky fingers together.
"Just promise me that you won't follow my footsteps, you will be better than me and you won't hold a gun unless it’s necessary.Probably when you're eighteen, give or take, or when you get into trouble."
Her face breaks up into a grin and she laughs out, pressing her pinky hardly on mine.
"I promise that I won't sleep around and that I will only use a gun when it is needed." I ruffle her hair and stand to my feet.
"I almost thought that you would twist your words."
"Expect the unexpected. That's my motto for today."
"You change your motto everyday, Summer.I don’t bother to keep track of them anymore." I smile.
"My mother calls herself crazy but I call myself weird. Maybe I should be called ‘Summer the weird mate’ or ‘The Weird Summer Of A Mate’." I nod, thinking about it as we continue to walk.
"Or you won't get your own book."
"Don’t jinx this for me, Bella. This could be my book right now, this moment could be one of the chapters.I just feel it."
She explains with happiness written on her face.
"I can’t wait for who I will be mated to." I find myself nodding again.
"When your mom gets invited to the writer’s tea party again, you can go with your mom and ask her yourself."
"If only mother would let me go with her.I have a lot of things to ask the writer." I laugh at her tone, but I also reply slowly, my mind thinking over it.
"I have a lot of things to ask her too."
"You're going to be late for their first day of training." Uncle Sebastian narrows his eyes at me.
"You make it sound like it's her first day of training."
Beta Paul says, his eyes growing in mischief when he sees me walking towards the training grounds. I smile in his direction.
"Thank you for having my back, unlike some other wolves." I draw the last two words and this catches my uncle's attention immediately.
"Which other wolves?" He asks.
"You, you and you."
I peck his cheek and the hair on his stubble pokes me in that few seconds.
"Good morning, my torturer."
"You knew what you would get when you first started it."
"I didn’t start it. I continued it."
When I begin to walk away, not waiting for his answer, Beta Paul's voice rings in the air, making me turn.
"What about my own kiss.Won't I get one too?" I roll my eyes and I say.
"No, you weren't there to help me last night." He pouts as I start walking backwards.
"But I am here now."
"That doesn’t count."
I end up shouting back at him because of how far I have gone. I turn forward and begin to jog to the training grounds and then I hear his loud yell.
"Why?"
"Because I say so."
I yell back, not bothering to turn back to stare at him.
The sound of grunts and groans comes to my hearing first before the sight of wolves actually sparing comes to my view, females and males alike.
When I step into the training grounds, they stop, immediately noticing my presence.
My eyes scan everyone until it lands on someone, a human.
A growl leaves my chest and immediately, I am in front of him, making him stagger back in fear with wide eyes but that is only for a second.
He gets himself back together so quickly that it’s unexpected and I blink at him.
My eyes trails down his bulky arms.
He has more muscles than most of the male wolves standing in this training ground now and he also have a fit air attached to himself.
He is taller than me and shirtless, I can see his abs clearly and his toned body.
"Like what you see, then maybe you won't be so unhappy to feel it." I don’t bother to take in what he says because I might kill him right now.
My eyes narrows at him.
"Why are you here, in the training yard for wolves."
"It's a honour to meet you too."
He stretches out his hand for a handshake but I don’t take it.
"You didn’t answer my question."
"It's not bad to be here, princess."
"That's not what I asked, human."
If my eyes could narrow anymore, then it does.
"It's not bad to be a human too."
I come to the conclusion that he is not worth my time.
"Follow my orders and keep a safe distance from the wolves. You do not want to get on their bad side."
I warn and he nods, acting like he understands but he ends up saying something stupid.
"Yes, and if I do get into this bad side of theirs, I am going to break their bones."A chores of growls follow after his remark but he doesn’t appear scared by them, if anything, he faces the growls that came from the wolves with boldness.
I don’t answer his statement, my attention is caught by something else.
A few meters away from the training ground is Summer.
She spreads a picnic mat on the ground and drops a basket beside it on the ground, before she sits on the mat.
She notices my eyes on her quickly but she makes no move to go away.
I walk to her with quick strides and her eyes follows me through out.
"What are you doing here, Summer."
Her eyes lingers on the training grounds and with the way they glimmer, I have a feeling that she just blocked the wolves and human from listening in on our conversation. Her eyes are back on me in a second.
"I need to train."
"But you do train, with your mother." I say, clearly confused.
"Yes, but that only involves magic.I need physical training." She explains.
"I am not going to hold a gun very soon so I have to learn this."
"And what is this exactly?" I ask when she gestures to where the wolves stands, waiting on me.
"Physical training as I call it."
"These wolves have not learnt control. They could kill you with a snap of their jaws." I state and she shrugs in little amusement.
"I could kill them with a snap of my fingers." She smiles .
"And besides, my cousin is here, you won't let anything happen to me. Also, I intend to only sit, eat and watch."
"That's better.Sit here and don’t you dare to step foot into that place. If not, you’re going to get your legs chopped off by me, before my head is cut off by your dad."
When I am done saying this, I walk back to the training ground and immediately hear her munching on something, probably from the basket beside her.
"Let's get into a little exercise before we spar."
My voice rings in the air, catching everyone's attention.
"As you all know, I am your leader from today-" and probably forever- "and I would like you to follow my commands and also-"
"No, can’t do, princess."
The whisper comes from the person I choose to ignore and I will ignore.
"follow my actions.Do I make myself clear?"
The voice comes again, this time it is not as a silent whisper.
It makes the whole place quiet and my wolf stir over the borders of my mind.
"Aren't you supposed to be in the castle with a pretty little tiara on your head and probably following your mates orders."
This makes me narrow my eyes at the smug looking human.
"Aren’t you supposed to be scared that I can cut your body in half in just a single second."
He doesn't appear shocked by my revelation or threat.
"Come on.Just in a few days of staying here, I have known that no one has ever seen your wolf.I don’t even know if you have on"
Before he can say another word, I am in front, holding his neck in my hand and his eyes widens. Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
He tries to pry off my hand as I squeeze tightly but he can't.
He can only make silly attempts to breathe and I watch him curiously, anxious for his blood to spill.
"With all the muscles and talks, you can’t stop this female from killing you."
"Isabella."
I feel a light touch on my arm and turn to see Summer with her blue eyes staring right at me.
"He’s not worth it."
Immediately, the rage I feel disappears like smoke and I squeeze tightly on his neck once more before I release him and he ends up falling to the ground, wheezing like his life depends on it.
Summer looms over his figure on the ground and though I don't see her eyes, I know that it’s attached with a glare right now.
"You should be lucky that I wasn’t the one trying to kill you.I wouldn't fail."
I am sure that shivers are rolling down his spine.
"Isabella!"
The growl makes me look up and I see my uncle with his eyes glaring daggers at me.
Shit!
