Too Late To Realize
The Day of the fight
Axel walked into the arena, shirtless, the only thing he had on was a boxer that did not do much in covering how big he was.
His eyes roamed the crowd until it settled on Hazel who was surrounded by two wolf guards of Alpha Damien.
Her teary eyes, the tiredness on her face, the visible sadness on her face. It all infuriated him badly.
He could not wait to get over with this and take her back to his pack where he could make her happy and wipe away the tiredness on her face away.
Hazel’s eyes seemed to be pleading with him do something. She shook her head in a negative manner as if she was telling him not to go on with it but that would be the last thing Axel would do, leaving his woman with another man who she did not even want to stay with.
His gaze remained on her while Hazel tried to tell him not to go on with this anymore. She could not stand being the reason behind his death. She would rather live with the devil rather than watch him die because of her.
Alpha Damien eventually walked into the arena and loud cheerings arose amongst the members of their pack. They were confident that their Alpha was not going to lose to anyone as he had never done in the past.
Damien smirked as he looked towards Axel.
“Alpha Damien” Axel called out loudly.
“Fighting against you is no little thing”
“But me winning you won’t be a surprise” Damien responded.
“Definitely. Alpha Damien, you have possessed the moon stone for a few years now. If I do win this fight, will Alpha Damien grant the moon stone to me?” Axel asked.
Shock flashed through the face of Damien. He was definitely not expecting such a demand from Axel in front of everyone.
“And why would I do such?” He questioned Axel.
“Is Alpha Damien scared of losing to me? If not, why can’t you put the moon stone on the line?” He questioned and the crowd start whispering and murmuring.
“The last thing I would be is scared of you.”
“Then put the moon stone on the line, Alpha Damien. If you are so confident of your capabilities, then you should not be scared to put anything and everything on the line”
Damien glared hard at Axel. Axel had deliberately brought out this proposal in public where he would not be able to reject it.
“Fine! What do I have to fear when I know your head would be rolling down like a stone very soon”
Axel’s lips curled into a smirk.
“It’s a pity that such a young wolf like you decided to put an end to your life today”
“No. It is a pity that such a promising Alpha like you decided to humiliate yourself in front of every other Alphas today” Axel replied and anger flashed through Damien’s face.
He hated disrespect and Damien’s words were disrespectful to him.Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.
He growled as he shifted into his wolf form, his bones breaking as he shifted. Axel glanced at Hazel one more time before shifting into his wolf form.
While Damien was fighting for respect, Axel was fighting not only for his woman but also for his life.
The two wolves prowled the arena while the people watched with hitched breath.
Hazel had her hands to her chest as her breathing turned harder.
She looked up into the night sky and pleaded with the moon Goddess one more time.
“Please, just this time. Listen to me just this one time” she pleaded and just then heard a growl.
She looked towards the arena and found that Axel had been rolled into the dust.
She gasped.
Axel quickly regained his stance and rushed towards Damien’s wolf. He pounced on Damien, pushing him into the dust.
Axel sank his teeth into his skin causing Damien to growl. Damien pushed him off with his strength and sent Axel off a few meters away.
The both of them walked around each other, waiting for who was going to be the first to attack and it was eventually Damien.
Damien ran towards him and went for his legs, his claws scratched at Axel’s legs. His speed was way too much for Axel to dodge.
Axel groaned but knew that losing meant leaving Hazel with this man forever and also meant him losing his life.
This fueled him. He jumped to pounce on Damien but Damien dodged successfully and reached out his claws.
His claws tore through the skin of Axel, making blood gush out.
Axel fell a little bit away from Damien who was now sure that he was winning this one.
Cheerings had started amongst the crowd while more tears rolled down the cheeks of Hazel.
Damien let out a low howl as he walked towards Axel and kicked at him. Axel’s wolf tossed in the dust as more blood gushed out of him.
“Axel!” Hazel cried out loudly.
“This is way too easy” Damien thought to himself as he approached Axel who had gotten on his feet now but the tear underneath him still dripped out more blood.
“He is losing so much blood! Stop this!! Stop it!!” Hazel screamed but no one was willing to listen to her.
The fight had started and it had to end…. With a winner.
Axel’s yellow eyes seemed to be flashing a red color every now and then as if his Alpha side was trying to take over but it was not happening.
Damien charged towards Axel who rolled away from Damien and sent his claws to Damien’s back.
He scratched at Damien’s back but it was definitely not up to what he had on his stomach that was still bleeding blood profusely.
Damien growled as he felt the pains.
“I have had enough joking around. Time to eliminate him” he thought to himself just as Axel grabbed his leg and threw him off.
The crowd began mumbling and murmuring while Hazel’s prayers to the moon goddess increased.
Damien rolled into the dust, his bloody back rubbing against the dust. He got on his feet in a second and charged fiercely at Axel, ready to eliminate him.
He pushed Axel into the dust and held him down, revealing his terribly injured stomach. Damien raised his claws to bury it right into the stomach of Axel and win the fight immediately.
“Axel!!!!” Hazel screamed out his name, tears dropping repeatedly on her face as she tried to run to him but was held back by the two wolf guards.
“Axel!! You cannot give up! Axel!!” She screamed even louder but it did not seem like Axel could do with any more motivations.
It seemed like this was really going to be the end.
The fear and panic in Hazel’s heart. She would have never reasoned that she could feel such for this man.
It was at that point that she realized just how much he meant to her but it was too late now.
