Chapter 17 Are you done watching?
Pearl turned around.
Richard's was half-naked. He just came out of the bathroom. A towel was wrapped around his
abdomen. Water was dripping from his hair, sliding down the body.
The chemistry in the air suddenly made Pearl go blank.
"Are you done watching?"
Richard stared at her. His eyes fell slowly on her chest. He chuckled coldly, "Oh, I see, over the past
years, you have learned abroad that you should take off your clothes after entering a man's room ."
Suddenly Pearl snapped back to her senses. She widened her eyes and cried with surprise. She put
her hands over her chest hurriedly.
Richard could not be bothered to look at her anymore. He averted his eyes to get his bathrobe. Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.
Pearl was so embarrassed. "I don't know this is your room."
"Oh, do you know that this is my house?"
She was speechless.
"How long are you going to stand here?"
Coming back to her senses, she grabbed her clothes from the bed adn left."I'm sorry."
The door was closed. Richard now could exhale slowly and his strong chest heaved with it. He tied his
bathrobes.
After changing his bathrobes, Richard sat down on the bed. He took out a cigarette. When he was
about to light a cigarette, he heard a ringtone.
It's from Pearl's phone. She forgot it in his room.
'Baby', popped up on the phone. Richard's eyes were icy. His finger brushed across the screen. He
only hesitated for a second before answering the call.
A soft voice came from the phone. "Mommy, when are you coming back ? I want cupcakes! Brandon
won't let me eat them."
Richard did not speak.
"Sorry, my phone..."
Suddenly, Pearl opened the door. She saw that Richard was holding her phone. Immediately, her
expression changed many times. She rushed to Richard to grab her phone and hung it up.
Richard's stared on her. He asked slowly, word by word, "You're married?"
Pearl retreated away from him and her leg hit at the edge of the bed.
Richard approached her. His eyes were like a dark abyss. He asked angrily, "With whom? Alex?"
"It has nothing to do with you." Pearl wanted to leave.
She didn't want Richard to find the twins.
"Was that why you family kicked you out? Am I right?"
Richard grabbed her wrist and her phone slipped from her hand. And in the end, it landed on the back
of her foot. The sharp pain made her stagger so she fell on the bed.
Richard still had her wrist in hand so they fell together. His hands landed on her shoulders. The scent
of shower lotion filled the air. She could smell a faint scent of cigarettes. The tip of their noses bumped
into each other. Immediately, the temperature in the room seemingly went up.
Pearl came back to her senses and pushed Richard away. She was almost tongue-tied. She muttered,
"Wh-what are you doing?"
Richard frowned. He tightened his grip on her shoulders. "So you are thinking all men are foolish, and
you can play around? Where did you even get that confidence?"
"I never think in that way."
"But you're doing it."
Richard lowered his voice with some resentment. His voice was hoarse for no reason.
Pearl could hide the astonishment anymore. Was that pain in Richard's eyes? Was he suppressing his
pain?
The water drops from his hair fell on Pearl's neck. They rolled down her collarbone and some of them
seeped into her skin. The cold drops made her shiver. She came to her senses, "Richard, you're
getting married."
The word 'married' made him regain himself. At the same time, the pain vanished from his eyes. His
eyes became clear. He gripped Pearl's shoulder tighter.
Pearl was in pain and frowned.
Even until now, She didn't give him an explanation. More accurately, she never cared to explain.
He was the only one who always think of the past. She was more like a outsider in their relationship
now.
Richard was irked. His eyes turned cold. Finally he let go of her. He hissed, "Get lost!"
His voice was not too high, But the air went still and everything was seemingly frozen.
Pearl gritted her teeth. She picked up her phone, fleeing hurriedly.
"Bang!" The door slammed shut. Now they were separated by the door.
