Pups 35
Chapter 35
RAQUEL’S POV
When the car pulled to a stop, the dark figure of a little human stood on the front porch. I didn’t need a genius to tell me who it was. Immediately.I climbed out of the car and drew him into a big hug, tears found their way out of my eyes. His whole body was tense and I could feel how scared he was, “Mommy, why are you crying? Did anything happen? Where is Alec!” All questions at a time and I couldn’t help but shed more tears. How was I supposed to tell him that his brother was gone! His other half, his best friend. How? Leo was standing behind me now. He was also in a sour mood, but it was all his fault. If only he had listened to me and let the poor babies be on their own. If only he had waited a little longer for them to get a little bit older. If only… He placed his hand on my right shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze, it made me inhale sharply. Aiden untangled himself from my embrace and ran to Leo. “Dad! What happened? Why is mummy crying and where is Alec?” He knew something was up. He knew something bad had happened, that explained why he was awake by now. He was already asleep by the time Cade brought him in and then announced to us, that Leo was in search of Alec and he didn’t know where or what direction to search
Raymond. Kate and I were in Leo’s study, in search of a document that one of the pack members claimed to have given to the Alpha to safeguard it for him, when Cade walked in and passed the news, Immediately, I rang Andrew and he came right away and together we all went to the training ground where the tragedy happened. I couldn’t bring myself to tell Aiden about it. He would be more devastated than I was and trust me, you do not want your child to pass through such a phase. Leo looked like he was going to tell him, but I shook my head negatively indicating that he shouldn’t. But when has Leo ever listened to me? Never. He went ahead and told Aiden that his brother was gone. Though he didn’t tell him precisely how it happened because no doubt that was going to traumatize him
The little boy stared at his father for a few minutes without saying a word, then turned to me and stared for the same amount of time. He did that for a good five minutes then stopped and began to stare at his toes. A drop of tear fell to the ground. “What do you mean when you say he is gone? Did he get angry and decided to run away? Did he no longer saw me as his best friend?w will he come back?” So many questions, there were answers but those answers were heavy. Not even Leo could bring himself to answer those “Go to sleep Aiden, we’ll talk better tomorrow okay? I’ll tell you everything” He said and ruffled his hair with a faint sad smile on his lips. Aiden nodded and went back to his bedroom. I wasn’t having that. Even though Leo had made seven guards stand outside his door, fifteen outside, by his window and five inside the bedroom, I still wanted him by my side. I wanted to watch him by myself. I wanted to make sure that he was alright and that he would never be taken away from me. I carried him to our bedroom and laid him down on our bed. if whoever the culprit was, could sneak on an Alpha, then what are twenty seven guards? Don’t ask me who I was, I was a mother who would do anything to make sure her son, the only son, the only family she had left was never going to be taken away, even if it meant not taking my eyes off of him forever. I watched him sleep throughout the night, while Leo watched me watch him sleep throughout
the night
Whoever this villain was, he was definitely a powerful one, one who could make one of the world’s most greatest Alpha scared to his bones. That’s right, even if he didn’t show it, even if he was still able to keep that mask of zero emotions on his face, I could still feel what he felt. I could feel how scared for his family he was. That was enough to make me think deeply and discover that it was not his fault, neither was it mine. What was meant to be would be and there was nothing any of us could have done to change it. Even though Leo hadn’t taken the kids to the training ground, The kidnapper would have found some other day to carry out his evil deeds. Leo wasn’t anywhere near at fault..wait! it was his enemy right? Okay, he was a little bit at fault for keeping a lot of enemies that he could not even pinpoint who was actually behind all of these. it was all still under speculation. But the point is, he was just a father who would have loved his kids to be able to defend themselves even at an early age. I could not blame him, it was what most Alpha daddies would have done
Soon, it was dawn, Leo went to Address the pack. A whole crowd had gathered in front of the house even before it was bright
“Alpha Leo! What happened?” A man asked, Yeah, I followed him, Aiden was in the care of Andrew, so I wasn’t worried Yesterday, something tragic happened, something unexpected. My Son, Alec was kidnapped right under my nose and I didn’t know. He was murdered a few hours after, Just as you all know, My luna was almost kidnapped a few weeks back Which means, Someone is after my family, and that someone is very close to me. I can feel it, but I don’t know who it is exactly. But you all should worry less. I have put measures in place to track down that bastard. And when I do track him down, I would make sure to make him suffer miserably. There’s no cause for panic. He or she is only after me. He won’t go.
near you all, that I am sure of” If I didn’t know better, I would have thought that he only cared about making that bastard pay. His voice, his face, his actions, they were all void of anything related to emotions. He didn’t sound sad, he didn’t sound angry, he didn’t sound devastated. If calm and collected was a person right then, it was surely going to be him
*Alpha
Leo, we are worried about you, it is better if they come after us. they should leave your beautiful family alone. We are your pack members. If they have a problem with you, then they should also have a problem with us too. I assure you Alpha Leo, we would find the culprit and he would serve his head to you on a gold platter” A man gave his word, the rest agreed and Leo nodded. Other people who wanted to talk said their piece, and soon, the crowd dispersed. Flowers and notes were being sent to us. The notes were emotional and I wasn’t surprised that I wasn’t crying anymore. There were no tears left. I was going through the same thing that made me step foot in here in the first place. Losing a loved one. Andrew tried his best to comfort me, while taking care of Aiden.
Two weeks had passed. Leo and I didn’t talk to each other. No, we weren’t mad at each other. We just needed our own space.1 was trying my best, looking for a lead, looking for anything that could lead me to the criminal but so far, I’ve recorded zero progress. Leo was doing his part. He had come to the conclusion that who ever was behind this, was definitely in his pack and was
most definitely in his inner circle. Though he didn’t say it to them or anyone for that matter. Don’t ask me how I knew. Its getting old already
He ran a background check on all of his close friends, none of them could be implicated by anything, they all had strong alibis. Then he ran one on Kate, he could find nothing. He didn’t leave Andrew out of it of course. Even after I told him that Andrew would never. I mean, he saw them like his kids
“Or was it my father?” He asked, no one in particular, but I answered “Is your father that evil? Would he murder his own grandson? His own flesh and blood?” I asked and he turned to me “Yes. My father would murder if he needed to” I was shocked and at the same time confused. “I don’t understand” I said and he sighed “Of course you wouldn’t” He muttered and turned back to his computer. I wasn’t letting it go. I needed to understand. If he was feeling anything, anything at all that could lead to us uncovering the murderer then he needn’t hide it from me “Make me understand” I answered. Surprising how he didn’t just ignore me and continue his business
way.
“My father is so bad, that he would murder me if he needed to. If he wanted something and I was standing in his knowingly or unknowingly, And the only way to get rid of me was me being six feet under, then he wouldn’t mind. He would do it. That’s how bad he is. He is a monster and I am nothing like him. That is why whenever you make mention of the fact that I was being like him to the kids, I get very upset” Yeah reminds me of the day he almost hit me, because I said that he was acting like his father towards my kids. I had no idea that his father was this cruel, but then, hadn’t his father left? How would he have known about me and the kids?
“My father has an informant in this pack. I don’t know who it is, but what I do know is that the informant is close. Very close” This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
