Pursuing My Ex Wife in Full Blooming Spring

Chapter 52

Naomi had thick, jet–black hair. Normally, she enjoyed tying up her long hair, casually forming it into a bun when she pleased. However, most of the time, she secured it neatly behind her head. Without bangs, her hair parted in the middle, always impeccably combed, presenting a clean and tidy appearance. She rarely let her hair cascade freely.

Perhaps due to time constraints this morning, she left her long hair unbound, flowing down the back of her head. Strands of hair by her temples swept behind her cars, revealing her fair complexion and the subtle ear piercings adorning her earlobes.

She did not wear earrings frequently, only on special occasions did she adorn herself so. She exuded cleanliness, and a soft aura enveloped her.

Her appearance was like a crystal–clear spring in a remote mountain, a stream revealing its bed, free from any impurities.

Scott observed her gentle profile, fine lashes, and dark, shining eyes. Then, he averted his gaze. “Is there something you need to tell me?”

Naomi hesitated for a moment, turning her head to look at the man seated beside her.

Did he just…speak to her?

Scott grabbed a bottle of mineral water and sensed her gaze while he opened it. He turned his eyes toward her.

“Thirsty?” he asked, offering the opened bottle of water.

Naomi was surprised.

He was not someone who displayed consideration, as far as she remembered. To be precise, he had not been considerate nor caring–not at all.

However, it seemed that being with someone special brought a change in him. He seemed more attuned to being considerate.

Naomi smiled faintly and shook her head. “I’m not thirsty. You go

ahead.”

She shifted her gaze back to the window once more.

It was impossible to know if there was someone in his heart. Still, what could she do? She had no authority over his heart. Even if she felt uneasy, she could not change or control it. So, unable to alter the situation and unwilling to sully herself, she chose not to care.

Everyone had their lives to live, and she did not want to depend on anyone else to survive. She had a family who loved her, friends who cared for her, and the world was beautiful. She did not want to live a life filled with hardships. Thus, it was good the way it was.

Scott looked at her smiling face, calm and serene. He withdrew his hand, gazed ahead, and picked up

the water bottle to drink. His Adam’s apple bobbed as the water flowed down, refreshing like that night’s water.

It was silent throughout the rest of the journey. After more than two hours, three cars smoothly parked outside the main entrance of Horizon City Hospital. Amelia was already waiting at the hospital entrance.

On the way, she had called Charles, so she waited outside.

Naomi took a nap in the car and woke up just before arrival. From afar, she saw someone standing outside the hospital gate. It was a professional–looking woman in a shirt, trousers, and high heels. She had shoulder–length hair, and makeup on her face. Who else could it be but Amelia?

Naomi was surprised, not expecting her to come and wait at the hospital entrance.

Nonetheless, a smile quickly formed on her face as her eyes curved with happiness. She must have called Charles‘ parents and decided to wait here.

Scott sensed the change in Naomi’s mood, a liveliness that had not been there before. He looked at her, then followed Naomi’s gaze to the person outside.

Amelia was talking on the phone while looking at the white SUV behind the sedan. She walked over directly. Scott found Amelia’s face unfamiliar.

“Ouch!”

As Amelia was about to leave, Naomi instinctively opened the car door but forgot about her injured hand. The pain shot through her as she gripped the door handle.

“Don’t move.”
