Pursuing My Ex Wife in Full Blooming Spring

Chapter 54

“Why are you here?” Amelia crossed her arms as she glared at Scott.

Despite being close friends with Naomi for many years, she had never been introduced to her friend’s husband. It was not that Naomi was unwilling. Rather, there was never an opportunity or time.

To be precise, people simply did not take her seriously.

In the past, when Naomi and Scott were still married, she refrained from speaking out. They had been divorced for some time, however, so she no longer had reservations.

Scott stared at Amelia’s hostile expression. It was as if he owed her the entire world.

Without uttering a word, Scott’s eyes revealed nothing

expected Amelia to question Scott So his thoughts. His emotions were inscrutable.

Naomi had not She was afraid that Amelia would keep confronting Scott, so she had not told Amelia that the person she rescued was Scott’s cousin’s daughter.

If Amelia were to find out, it would be even more troublesome.

Quickly stepping forward, Naomi reached out to pull Amelia. “Amelia, let’s talk inside.”

Amelia was not a fool. There had to be more with Scott’s presence. She looked at Naomi, her eyes narrowing dangerously as if saying, “What are you hiding from me?‘ © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.

Seeing the expression in Amelia’s eyes, Naomi sighed inwardly. “I’ll tell you inside.”

Observing the tension in Amelia’s expression, she instantly smiled, turning to Donna and Dean. Please take Naomi inside now. I’ll come in later.

The elderly couple could tell that Amelia wanted to vent her anger for Naomi. Although they were also upset, they were not the kind of unreasonable people who wanted to make their daughter even more heartbroken. Thus, Dean said, “Amelia, we’ll go in.”

Amelia smiled. “Don’t worry, Mr. Goodwin. I know what to do.”

With that, Amelia turned to the approaching Charles and waved. “Charles, long time no see! I won’t chat with you now, though. You take Mr. and Mrs. Goodwin, along with Naomi, to see the doctor. Don’t delay the medical checkup.”

“I’ll come in a bit.” Charles had already averted his gaze and looked at Amelia. Upon hearing her words, he nodded. Amelia appeared carefree, but she was actually quite measured in her actions. She knew what should or should not be done.

As Charles approached, he said to Dean and Donna, “Please trust Amelia.‘

Charles also spoke, and the two elderly people were finally at ease, no longer worried.

However, Naomi remained uneasy. She frowned at Amelia and said, “Amelia…”

The words had just left her mouth when Amelia pointed at her, threateningly declaring, “If you try to stop me again, believe it or not, we’re done.”

Naomi was speechless. It was not that she was truly intimidated by Amelia’s threat, but she saw sternness in Amelia’s eyes.

Unable to speak, Naomi looked at Charles, whose expression was different from usual, deeper. She

could not read him.

With a glance, Amelia signaled to Charles.

Understanding, Charles came to Naomi’s side and said, “Let’s go inside.”

Naomi looked at Charles. His expression was somewhat different from usual, making it hard for her to discern. With the words Amelia said echoing in her mind and the situation at hand, Naomi nodded. “Okay.”

The group entered the hospital together. Scott still stood there, silent and unmoving. He did not speak, nor did he step forward or follow Naomi into the hospital.

His hands were in his pockets, watching Amelia. His deep gaze became increasingly inscrutable.
