"No, but you need to understand the difference between the mastermind and the accomplice. It's more than just a question of sentencing." Yasmine said gravely. "Fine. I'll tell!" Yvette shouted.

"Tell me, I'll investigate the rest myself," Yasmine assured her.

Yvette closed her eyes, her shoulders trembling. "It's Irene, it's her!"

"So, Helen was the first scapegoat, and you're the second?" Yasmine thought there was more to the story. Indeed, just a simple question revealed the truth. Yvette nodded, "That's probably right," she nodded again.

Lately, Chuck had been feeling uneasy, perhaps because of Lucy or maybe because of the questions he couldn't answer. He entered the Dawn Bar, the place where he and Lucy strangely met. These past few days, he'd been frequenting that bar, driven by an inexplicable obsession.

But tonight, when he walked in, he instinctively glanced towards the corner and actually saw someone-it was Lucy. His heart raced as he approached. There was a bottle of wine in front of her, which seemed barely touched. Seeing him, Lucy looked up in confusion. "Don't drink," Chuck took the glass from her hand. He couldn't quite define how he felt, he just knew he had to do it, so he did.

Lucy stared at him in shock and asked, "Chuck, what are you doing?"

"Don't drink," Chuck said in a deep voice, his eyes reflecting a profound silence.

Lucy, a bit confused, snatched the wine glass from his hand and snapped, "What's it to you!" She gave Chuck a push, for the person she least wanted to see today was Chuck, yet here he was.

"Lucy, why are you drinking?" Chuck's eyes were bright and deep, like a tranquil lake.

"It's none of your business, Chuck. If you've got things to do, go ahead and get busy. If you want to party and drink, then just go ahead, but don't bother me." Lucy frowned slightly, this guy just wouldn't leave her alone. He wouldn't answer her questions, didn't even like her, so why was he always around?

"Let's talk." Chuck said in a low, serious voice.

Lucy didn't want to pay any attention to him. She raised the bottle again and took a big swig. She really didn't know what else she could say to Chuck; everything that needed to be said had already been made clear.

Chuck sighed, grabbing a bottle from a passing waiter. He opened it and, mimicking her, took a long drink straight from the bottle. Taking a deep breath, he said, "If you want to drink, I'll join you!"

Lucy stared at the almost empty bottle of red wine in his hand, momentarily stunned., "Crazy." Even though this type of red wine wasn't very strong, drinking a whole bottle was not going to feel good, especially without sobering up first. She could already picture how awful Chuck would feel. "Stop drinking!" she shouted.

Chuck seemed to have found a way to vent his feelings and went for another bottle of liquor, but Lucy quickly snatched it from his hands. She'd already drunk more than half and was feeling the consequences of drinking too fast. She was barely able to stand, using the table for support. Meanwhile, Chuck was slouched on the sofa, his cheeks flush red, looking quite amusing.

Lucy couldn't help but want to laugh. Under the sparkling, colorful lights, she looked stunning.

Chuck was niomentarily stunned, "Wow, Lucy, you're so beautiful"

"Real smooth." Lucy muttered drunkenly.

After another ten minutes or so, Lucy wasn't doing any better than Chuck. Both were pretty wasted, but Chuck retained a sliver of reason. He managed to call a car, give his home address and promptly passed out. When the driver woke them up, Chuck came to and realized that Lucy was still groggy. Unsteadily, he helped her into his house. The scene was eerily familiar, just like last time his friend brought Lucy to his place.

Once home, Chuck helped Lucy to bed. Just as he was about to leave, he fell heavily, only to feel an arm crawl up his chest. It was Lucy's arm. Gently, he tried to place it back, but each time he did, it found its way back. After several tries, Chuck finally gave up. Both of them reeked of alcohol. Chuck could turn his head and see Lucy's face. He stared for a long time until his eyes ached, then quickly looked away.

Lucy's sleeping posture wasn't exactly great. She rolled over right onto Chuck; her face nestled into his shoulder and neck. Her warm breath tickled his neck, making him feel itchy. Unable to resist the urge within him, he finally hugged Lucy tightly. Lucy held him too, the drunken couple again wrapped in each other's arms.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

The next morning, Lucy opened her sleepy eyes and was shocked to see Chuck right in front of her. Why was it him again! Memories of last night surged back, and she couldn't remember how she ended up at Chuck's place or how they ended up together in bed. She quickly scrambled out of bed, gathering her clothes to rush out, but as soon as her foot hit the floor, she twisted her ankle. "Ouch!" The pain made her collapse back down, rubbing her ankle in agony.

Chuck was startled awake by the sound, quickly sitting up to scoop Lucy into his arms. "What's wrong?"

Smelling Chuck's scent, Lucy smacked him hard. "Let go of me!"

"You've twisted your ankle, how are you going to walk?" Chuck refused to let go and placed Lucy back on the bed.

Lucy stopped resisting and watched as Chuck skillfully bandaged her foot, carefully massaging her ankle. She suddenly felt a peculiar sensation.

Chuck was lounging on the sofa, absentmindedly watching TV. Lucy lay on the couch with her sprained ankle resting on the armrest, surrounded by fruit snacks on the coffee table. The TV was playing the latest trending drama, and Lucy was ranting, "I mean, how dumb is this heroine? How can anyone be this stupid in real life?" She complained furiously, oblivious to the amused smile Chuck had on his face as he watched her.

Chuck watched her small hand reach for the grapes, which he'd just had someone buy and were freshly taken out of the fridge, still chilled. He frowned at the plate that was already more than half empty. He pushed it away, leaving Lucy visibly displeased. She had been enjoying them! Why take them away? She wanted to keep eating!

She gave Chuck a sidelong glance, trying to sneak the plate back when he wasn't looking, but Chuck was too strict.
