Chapter 27 Chapter 27. Nelly’s POV.
| had just stepped out of the shower, the water still dripping from my skin, when | noticed that Alpha Kex was no longer in the room. | wrapped a towel around my waist and then pulled on a short silk gown, the fabric brushing softly against my skin.
As | gazed into the mirror, | noticed the mark that Alpha Kex had left on my neck, a red, irritated patch of skin that stood out against my pale complexion. My cheeks burned as | thought about how that mark had gotten there, my heart racing at the

| was still staring at the mark on my neck when the door burst open. | jumped, my heart racing, and in the mirror | saw Alpha Kex walking towards me. Before | could say anything, he had wrapped his arms around my waist, his hands warm against my skin.
“Good morning, beautiful,” he said, his voice deep and husky. “Good morning...... Alpha... Kex,” | stutter.
With a sudden movement, he turned me around to face him. Before | could catch my balance, he was already spinning me around in circles. | gasped as | fell into his arms again and again, the room whirling around me.
“You are such a weakling,” he said, his laughter filling the room. “You only have a sharp mouth.” | looked at him confused, my head still spinning from his antics.
“Everyone knows Nelly has a sharp mouth,” he repeated, his laughter echoing off the walls. | put my hands on his chest, trying to slow his spinning and his laughter.
“Shh,” | said, my voice low. “You are making too much noise.”
His laughter stopped abruptly, and he looked at me, his eyes dark and unreadable. “How dare you tell an alpha to be quiet?” he said, his voice low and dangerous.
“I'm sorry, Alpha Kex,” | said, my voice trembling.
He broke into a sudden laugh, catching me off guard. “I scared you,” he said, his eyes glittering with amusement. “I scared Nelly, he repeated, laughing again.
“Are you okay?” | asked, my confusion growing.
He pulled me close, his arms strong around my waist. “You look so beautiful, Nelly,” he said, his voice husky. “You don’t know how much | crave you.”

He paused, his eyes locked on mine. “Well?” he asked, a smirk playing on his lips. | couldn’t speak, my mind reeling from his words. “Is that good enough for you?” he asked, a teasing tone in his voice.

He shrugged his shoulders, and | watched as his shirt slipped down his arms, revealing a sculpted torso. “They call me Mr. Romantic,” he said with a wink.
As | opened my mouth to speak, he silenced me with a kiss. He pulled away, his eyes intense. “I want to kiss you like this every morning,” he said, his expression serious. “I would like to wake up with you in my arms.” My heart raced at his words, my mind whirling.
“| don’t understand,” | said, my voice small. He took my hands in his, his touch warm and reassuring.
He started to laugh, his eyes twinkling with mischief. “Look at your face,” he said, his voice playful. “You are completely befuddled.”
He pulled me over to the mirror, his hand on my shoulder. | tried to protest, but he wouldn’t listen. | looked into the mirror, my face flushed. | did look completely confused, my eyes wide and my mouth agape. Alpha Kex chuckled, his laughter reverberating through the room.
My eyes caught something and | looked up at my reflection again, my hair in complete disarray. “What did you do to my hair?” | asked, my voice incredulous. He was still laughing, his arms folded across his chest.
As | turned to face him, he bolted, running across the room. | gave chase, determined to get back at him for ruining my hair. He jumped onto the bed, throwing a pillow at me. | ducked, and the pillow flew past me, hitting the wall with a soft thud.
Alpha Kex had never been this playful before. He was always so serious, so focused. “What the hell is wrong with you today?” | asked, rubbing my face where the pillow had
hit me.
He stopped in his tracks, a look of concern on his face. “Did | hurt you?” he asked, his voice soft. “Are you okay?”
| nodded, trying to keep a straight face. But then | couldn’t help it laughing. “You are such a dork,” | said, shaking my head. -| burst out
He tossed another pillow at me, and | scrambled to grab it out of the air. We were both laughing now, playfully dueling with the pillows. They flew back and forth, each of us dodging and weaving to avoid getting hit.
It was like a game of tennis, except with pillows instead of rackets. The laughter bubbled up from my chest, and | felt giddy, carefree. | hadn't felt this lighthearted in ages.

We collapsed on the bed, our laughter echoing in the room. | lay there, looking up at the ceiling, trying to catch my breath. | heard Alpha Kex call out my name, and | turned to see him looking at me. His face was flushed from the exertion, but his smile was wide and genuine.
“That was fun,” he said, his voice filled with mirth. “We should do that more often.”
| propped myself up on my elbow, my cheeks still sore from laughing.
Just as | was about to say something, there was a knock at the door. | jumped up and walked over to open it, feeling a jolt of surprise when | saw who was standing there. It was Emily.
“What do you want?” | asked, trying to sound casual.
“Just wanted to check if you are okay,” she said, her voice small.
| hesitated, unsure how to respond. “As you can see, I’m okay,” | finally said, feeling a
little irritated.
She looked me up and down, her gaze thoughtful. “And Kex?” she asked, her brow furrowed. | felt my heart skip a beat.
Before | could even begin to form a response, | felt Alpha Alex’s hands wrap around my waist. | felt a jolt of surprise as he kissed the back of my neck, his lips soft against my
skin.
Asmall giggle escaped my lips, and | heard Emily let out a gasp of surprise. She stared at us, her eyes filled with envy and irritation.
| managed to choke out the words, “Emily’s here, stop.” But he didn’t seem to hear me.
Instead, he continued kissing my neck, his lips trailing down to my collarbone. | shivered, my body responding to his touch despite myself. | could feel Emily’s gaze burning into my back, her teeth gritted in frustration.
“Kex!” Emily roared, her voice filled with rage. Kex stopped, his head snapping up at the sound of her voice. “Later, Emily,” he said, his tone dismissive.
With one swift motion, he scooped me up into his arms, carrying me away from the door. | couldn’t help but stick my tongue out at her as we disappeared into the room, the door closing behind us.
