Chapter 32
Sabrina looked at Nelson lounging on the couch. He was still as good-looking as he was when she first met him at 19.
However, the 30-year-old Nelson's actions were nothing like they used to be. Even when he smiled, he seemed like a jerk.
Sabrina took a deep breath and approached him.
Nelson seemed pleased with her attitude. He naturally placed his hands on either side of the couch and lounged lazily.
Sabrina loved basic clothes. This day, she wore a black sweater with a pearl necklace adorning her slender neck. She paired it with wide-leg black pants, creating a perfect blend of professionalism and understated charm.
He squinted slightly as he stared at her.
When Sabrina stood in front of him, he unbuttoned two buttons of his shirt.
However, the scenario he anticipated, where she would please him, didn't unfold.
Sabrina lunged at him and grappled with him. What did this son of a bitch take her for? She was blind to have ever loved him.
Caught off guard, Nelson received a sharp scratch on his neck.
However, Sabrina wasn't much of a fighter. Nelson quickly subdued her and pinned her down on his thigh.
With her arms pinned behind her, Sabrina had to stare back at him.
Nelson was ruthless. He sat upright and held her wrist firmly so that she had no choice but to stick close to him.
"You jerk! Let me go!" Sabrina cursed.
He didn't seem bothered. Instead, he was smiling.
Sabrina was furious. "How can you do this to me?"
"You're so unreasonable, Sabrina. You're the one who didn't listen to me and didn't keep your promises. I asked you to move back in and let Pamela be the ambassador, but you ended up slapping her.
"I've been patient, bringing you meals and staying at your place to accommodate you. I've given you so many chances, but you've ignored me. This is the only way to get you back home."
Sabrina said nothing, just glaring at him with teary eyes.
Why didn't he mention how Pamela broke the brooch? All this talking and doing was just to avenge his sweetheart.
Nelson held onto her, not letting her escape.
Sabrina's nose tingled. Just then, he leaned in to whisper, "I didn't set you up. You said I could ask you to do anything. I hadn't even mentioned it. You forgot about that yourself."
In other words, she brought this on herself.
"Don't defy me anymore," he warned with a chilling voice.
Sabrina couldn't help but tremble.
With the brooch in his hand, she had no choice but to behave.
She closed her eyes, then opened them to meet his gaze. "Will you give me the brooch?"
"Probably?" he replied.
Sabrina snorted and pulled her wrist from his grasp. "So, it's possible you won't give it to me. Let's be straightforward here." Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.
Nelson leaned back against the couch and nodded for her to continue.
"You brought me meals and stayed at my place to 'accommodate' me. All that gentleness and affection, acting like a changed man just because you want me, right?"
Nelson didn't deny it. Sabrina did have a special allure for him.
"You don't like it when I do things for you reluctantly, do you?"
He couldn't help but smile. "Sabrina, you're a lot more interesting than I imagined."
He looked forward to seeing Sabrina's furious reaction upon finding out the brooch was back in his possession, and it was exactly as he had anticipated.
If she reacted the same way as last time, it would be boring.
Well, Sabrina was quite clever.
"Continue," he said, genuinely intrigued.
"If you give me the brooch, I'll do anything for you willingly."
Nelson shook his head. "What if you run away after I give you the brooch? Fulfill your promise first. I'll give it back to you tomorrow."
