Rekindling Her Affection (Sabrina and Nelson)

Chapter 45

When Sabrina woke up, the room was still dark.

It was late at night when Nelson brought her home.

She was out of energy, so she let him bathe her. Suddenly, she came to a realization, wondering who between them was the one being drugged.

A gentle knock sounded, and Joanna's voice came from outside.

"Mrs. Tucker, are you awake?"

"Come in," Sabrina said.

She noticed her voice was very hoarse.

Joanna entered and drew the curtains. The light was so bright that Sabrina struggled to open her eyes.

Joanna was momentarily stunned when she saw Sabrina's appearance. Since she started working at Nelson's place, she knew Sabrina was an absolute stunner.

Now, Sabrina's long hair was draped over her shoulders. She wore pajamas with a wide neckline with the top sliding down one shoulder, revealing her flawless skin.

The faint hickeys left on her would make any woman envious of her. Even the bruises on her face didn't diminish her beauty. Instead, it evoked one's pity.

"Mrs. Tucker, you must be tired."

Joanna was happy for her.

She walked up to the bed and smiled, saying, "Mr. Tucker wants me to apply some ointment for you."

"It's okay. I can do it."

Sabrina felt embarrassed under Joanna's gaze and subconsciously pulled up the collar of her pajamas.

"Let me do it. You can have your lunch after I'm done applying it. It's already 1:00 pm."

Sabrina didn't expect that she would sleep until the afternoon. She lay against the headboard as Joanna applied the ointment. Joanna was gentle when she applied the cold ointment on her face.

"I started working here after you married Mr. Tucker, so I know your hardships. Things change between a man and a woman once they've become intimate."

Sabrina looked up at Joanna.

She recalled that Nelson was very cold toward her during the first year of their marriage.

Joanna was more anxious than Sabrina as she said, "When Mr. Tucker returns, you must wear pretty clothes and flaunt them before him."

Sabrina had done that before, but Nelson merely frowned at her.

During their second year of marriage, Joanna would often mutter in front of her, "You're so beautiful, and he doesn't even look at you. It's either because he's impotent or that he likes men. Were you tricked into this marriage?"

Joanna didn't know what transpired between Sabrina and Nelson but was under the impression that Sabrina was head over heels for him.

Joanna happily advised, "This is a good start. While he's into you, show him your excellent personality and that living with you is comforting. Then, he won't be able to leave you."

Sabrina smiled.

"You're quite the relationship expert."

Joanna clicked her tongue.

"I'm not a relationship expert, but I have been through it. Men are all the same. You might feel tired for now, but don't worry. I'll give you supplements to get you back up so you can win Mr. Tucker's heart as soon as possible." NôvelDrama.Org © content.

Sabrina initially was upset and conflicted, but Joanna's advice made her laugh. Her mouth hurt when she laughed. She didn't want to reject Joanna's good intentions, so she simply nodded.

At lunchtime, she saw a table full of nutritious dishes and knew Joanna wasn't joking.

After lunch, Eva and Oliver visited.

"George turned himself in this morning and confessed to everything. Amanda came to me, apologizing for nearly causing you harm. She wants to see you."

Sabrina remained silent. She wondered why Amanda was feigning innocence. She remembered Amanda telling George to hurry up and ensure to get her face on camera.

"I returned to the private room and couldn't find any recording device."

Oliver added, "In my opinion, Amanda and George are in this together."

"Without any evidence, Amanda definitely wouldn't admit to it."

Sabrina said, "Call Sebastian and tell him to find another supplier for Amanda's goods."

After Oliver left, Eva asked, "Would Amanda stoop so low because of the issue with Mr. Smith?"

As a woman, Eva knew that if Amanda had her way, it would drive Sabrina to the brink. Eva wondered why a conflict in their collaboration would lead to such cruelty.

"Amanda isn't the mastermind. There's someone else pulling the strings."

"Who?"

Sabrina shook her head.

"I have no idea, but we'll find out eventually. Don't worry."
