Revenge After rebirth (Mayra and Anderson)

Chapter 41

Anderson had already put on his clothes. He reached out to tidy her messy hair. "Do you not like it?"

Mayra pursed her lips. "It's too expensive. I can't take it." She grabbed his hand and placed the bracelet in it. "Andy, your gift is too expensive. I can't accept it no matter what. If I drop it or it gets stolen, I can't afford to replace it."

She was always different from Anderson. He was the heir to the Belchester Barlow Group. A few hundred thousand dollars was only enough for one of his meals.

Things would be different for her in the future. As an adult, she didn't want to rely on him. Regardless of the circumstances, she would always be the humble one.

Anderson's gaze turned cold. "Are you angry with me because I didn't bring you home together?" The home he was referring to was the Barlows'.

Mayra immediately denied it. She frowned at him. "I've never thought about it that way. I've never coveted anything from you." She was so determined to prove something that she even stopped calling him "Andy".

She sincerely regarded him as the elder who had raised her. He wasn't her relative, but he was better than her real relatives.

Her parents died in a car accident, leaving her alone with no relatives willing to take her in. Anderson was the one who offered to raise her and organize her parents' funeral. She wouldn't be where she was today if it weren't for him.

She had gotten to that point in her previous life because she had the wrong mindset. She was too pampered and greedy, which was why she ended up like that. This time, she had completely changed. She would never think about harming Isabel again.

What Mayra feared the most was that Anderson would mistake her for someone obsessed with fame and money.

She raised her hand and swore, "If you don't believe it, I can swear on it. If I covet anything from you, I'll be abandoned and betrayed by everyone in the future. I'll die alone." NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.

"Enough! I can afford to raise you. I won't take back anything I bought. If you don't like it, then throw it away." He hated to see a humble Mayra.

He could give her whatever she desired. Even if she was haughty, it wasn't a problem as long as she obeyed him. He was capable enough to let her live a happy and worry-free life.

Anderson flung the bracelet at Mayra and turned away angrily. "Tidy yourself. We'll go downstairs and eat."

With bitterness in her heart, she squatted and picked the bracelet up. It seemed as if an invisible hand was clutching her heart and pinching it hard.

She muttered inwardly, "Anderson, you know what? No matter how horrible I was in my previous life, I never considered getting anything from you or attaining any goal because of your identity. Alll I wanted was your love. But now, I..."
