Chapter 1456
Rebirth, a chance to turn back the clock and craft a world where happiness reigns supreme. But can everyone truly find joy in this world? If someone's discontent, they might wish for a do-over, trapping the world in a never-ending loop. Human desires, after all, know no
bounds. Once you get a taste of something, you crave even more.
Sophie shook her head gently, saying, "I was just talking off the top of my head. In real life... you don't get that many chances to start fresh."
"You're such a dreamer," Colby murmured softly. "Meeting you is the best thing that's ever happened to me."
Sophie beamed, "Meeting you is the best thing that's ever happened to me too."
As the night deepened, Sophie was already fast asleep in bed. After making sure she was sound asleep, Colby changed his clothes and headed downstairs.
Colby's crew had been waiting in the courtyard of the White family estate for a while. When Colby emerged, they stepped forward and reported, "Boss, we've looked into it thoroughly. Mr. Odie hasn't gone anywhere this past month. He picked up a package from Summerfield and went straight back to Devonport without meeting anyone privately."
"Got it," Colby nodded.
He had suspected all along that Odie wasn't capable of pulling something like that off. It had to be Gordon who sent the package to Odie.
"Any news on Gordon?" Colby inquired.
"Uh..." The subordinate hesitated at Colby's mention of Gordon. "Boss, you know how Mr. Gordon is... If he doesn't want to be found, there's no way we can track him down."
Since early that morning, they'd been hunting for Gordon's overseas hideouts, checking one place after another until their feet were sore, but Gordon was nowhere to be found. Realizing this was likely just Gordon throwing them off the trail, Colby said, "If you can't find him, just leave it. Let him do his thing."
"Yes, boss."
The subordinate continued, "But we did track down a few of those overseas churches you asked about today. Do you want to check them out now?" "Get the car ready."
"Yes."
"Hold on," Colby added. "She's a light sleeper. Park the car outside the courtyard so you don't wake her."
"Don't worry, boss, you've reminded us plenty of times."
Colby glanced back upstairs, saying, "Make sure this place is secure. Whatever happens, keeping her safe is top priority." "Yes, boss."
Meanwhile, over at the Pollard family
estate, Kiran sat in a secluded room
packed with medical equipment. Caelum stood by a glass pane, observing Kiran inside, his brow furrowed, "Is there still a chance?"
"Sir, the doctor said the young master's will is exceptionally strong. Unless we do what we did five years ago and convince him that he's... well, no longer alive, there's no other way."
Caelum took a deep breath.
Inside the room, Kiran slowly rose and walked to the mirror. From his side, it was just a mirror, but he seemed to peer through it as if seeing beyond. A sly grin spread across Kiran's face as he pointed to his head, his smile widening.
Such blatant provocation made Caelum's expression darken even more.Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
