Serenity and Zachary York

Chapter 3218

Chapter 3218

The two had breakfast together before leaving the suite.

The hotel butler would tidy the place and put things back in their original places for Zachary's next visit.

Imogen went back to her room to catch up on sleep.

Meanwhile, Dylan called Grandma May. When she picked up, he asked, "Where are you, Nana?"

"I'm at Wildridge Manor. What's up? Do you miss me? If you do, come back and have lunch with me," she said. "My fish is done grilling! It smells so good."

Dylan was speechless for a moment. "It's early in the morning and you're grilling fish to eat?"

"I'm not talking to you, I'm talking to my friends. And what's wrong with eating grilled fish in the morning? It's not that early anyway-it's past nine. Can't you see the sun is so high up in the sky?

"It's warmer out today, too, so I went fishing with a few old friends and we are grilling our catches. It feels like we're having a picnic and it's pretty nice."

Dylan could imagine the scene. There was a stream at the foot of the hill that ran clear and had many fish and shrimp.

The old lady would sometimes invite a few of her employees' mothers to catch shrimp in the stream together.

Under the big tree beside the stream, there were a few stone tables. All she had to do was say the word and Sam would move a grill there for the mischievous old kids to grill their food. If someone else did it for them, they would complain that it did not taste good.

Grandma May said that they just liked the process of grilling the food. Actually, they could not finish so much either. Whatever they could not finish would be shared with the employees.Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.

All the staff at Wildridge Manor knew that Old Mrs. York did not put on airs and got along with them like she was just the old granny next door.

"Nana, if you catch two more fish and grill them for me to eat, I'll come back right now." He needed to go back and talk to her.

"Fish them up yourself when you get

here. Once you clean them, I'll grill them for you." Nana said before

asking curiously, "Are you that free today? You've been back in

Wiltspoon for a while now but didn't come home-I thought you didn't dare to."

"Why would I not? I didn't do anything wrong. I've just been busy with work You know we have a lot of businesses and Zack can't handle it all. We have to help out at least a little, not to mention we have our own companies. It's easy to forget things when we get busy

The old lady cackled. "You forgot your Nana, but you didn't forget that nameless girl, did you? She came looking for you to settle the score, but you even hid from her. You might be able to avoid her now but you can't run forever. You took something precious of hers, so now you should hurry up and return it to her. I told you to court your future

wife, not be a thief."

Dylan inexplicably blushed. He had not told even his own brother what he had done, let alone Zachary, afraid of getting a scolding. How did his nana know when she spent every day in Wiltspoon playing around with her old friends?

"I-I didn't steal it. She lost it and I picked it up."

"Didn't I teach you to be honest? You should return it to her if she can prove it's hers."

Dylan protested, "She can't-that's exactly why I didn't dare to give it to her. What if it isn't and the real owner comes looking for me? What would I tell her then?"

She chortled. "Oh, Dylan. All nine of you are very smart, I admit. Your Gramps and I just had such good genes that your dads and you guys inherited it all. But smart people can sometimes get in their own way.

When Grandma May praised her grandsons, she praised her late husband while she was at it. It was precisely because they had good genes that they had outstanding sons who passed it onto their grandchildren too.
