Stuck In The Wrong Marriage

Chapter 68

Happy reading…

“How is Juan, Doc?” asked Hera with a worried expression on her face.

“Thankfully, the situation is gradually improving,” replied the doctor, making Hera unable to hold back a smile while breathing a sigh of relief. Not much different from the people who were also there. Ara and Haidar, who faithfully accompany Hera, take care of Juan. Even so happy to hear that her son was getting better, Hera didn’t realize that she was now hugging Haidar tightly.

“Ah, I’m sorry,” Hera said awkwardly when she realized what she was doing. Moreover, it wasn’t just the two of them there. Haidar just smiled knowingly there.

“Then I’ll excuse myself,” said Emi’s doctor.

“Yes, Doc. Thank you,” replied Hera, smiling faintly.

Hera then walked over to Juan’s bed. She took her tiny hand and kissed it a few times.

“Thank you, honey, for surviving. Get well soon. I really miss wanting to play with Juan,” Hera whispered. Her eyes flashed a very longing for the son who was sleeping. Earlier, the adorable baby woke up feeling hungry and after being fed directly by Hera, he fell back asleep. He was still very weak, but at least Juan had regained consciousness after nearly five hours of unconsciousness due to fluid loss.

“Uncle Haidar also really misses wanting to play with Juan,” said Haidar, stroking Hera’s shoulder. The woman looked up and smiled meaningfully.

Ddrrrttt….

Haidar’s phone vibrated to distract him. He reached into his cell phone to see who was calling.

“I’m out for a while,” said Haidar to which Hera nodded. It’s not that he don’t want to answer there but Haidar doesn’t want to interfere.

“What is it, Ridwan?” asked Haidar matter-of-factly when he was already in the hospital hallway. “I already told you, please take care of everything first, I still—”

“Mr. Thomas is in the office now, sir.”

“What?” Haidar was surprised. Why did the father suddenly come without telling him first?

“Yes, sir. And he wants to meet you,” answered Ridwan.

Haidar took a deep breath, gently massaging his throbbing temples.

“Okay, I’ll be right there,” said Haidar then hung up the phone.

He turned to go back into Juan’s room. But stopped when he saw the existence of Hera who was standing staring at him.

“Any problems at your office?” asked Hera bringing Haidar to sit on the waiting chair there.

“My father suddenly came,” said Haidar honestly.

Hera smiled faintly. “Then you must get there as soon as possible, Haidar.”

“But what about you?”

“Juan’s condition has improved. You don’t have to worry anymore,” Hera said trying to reassure Haidar.

Haidar bit his lower lip trying to consider what kind of decision he should make. He still hesitated to leave Hera. Really. Seeing Haidar who was still hesitant made Hera hold the big hand that felt very warm.

“Really, Haidar. I’m fine. You don’t have to worry,” said Hera, smiling wider.

“You don’t have to smile like that. You make me even more worried,” said Haidar, ruffling Hera’s hair, inviting an annoyed snort from the woman.

“Then what should I do so you don’t worry?” asked Hera while fixing her hair which was messed up by Haidar.

“Just kiss me.”

“What?”

Seeing Hera’s shocked face suddenly made Haidar burst out laughing.

“I was just joking,” said Haidar in between laughs.

“Tsk! Basic!”

“Then, I’ll go first. I’ll be right back after taking care of everything,” said Haidar.

“Yes. All right,” replied Hera.

Haidar slightly adjusted his messy tie before getting out of the car. Even though he was in the hospital, Haidar still maintained his appearance. Apart from not wanting to look bad in front of Hera, if one day there was a situation like this, Haidar didn’t have to go back to his apartment to change clothes.

When he came down he saw Ridwan already standing in front of the lobby waiting for him.

“Where’s my father?” asked Haidar as he walked in front of Ridwan.

“In your room, sir,” answered Ridwan, trailing behind Haidar. The man just nodded, continuing his steps towards the elevator. Greetings from the employees were only answered by a nod or a slight smile by Haidar.

“Mr. Haidar?” called Ridwan when they were in the elevator.

“What is it?”

Ridwan leaned forward a little and whispered in Haidar’s ear. Don’t know what the man whispered, but Haidar immediately rolled his narrow eyes.

“Oh shit!” Haidar cursed with hard jaws.

When he got out of the elevator, Haidar’s steps were faster, he seemed to be in a hurry. Even when he opened the door to his room, Haidar opened it rather roughly.

“You came?” Thomas greeted seeing his son’s existence with a smile. Instead of returning the smile, Haidar just glared at him. But not on the father but on the figure who was sitting in front of his father while smiling at Haidar.

“Good afternoon, Mr. Haidar,” he greeted as if nothing had happened between them.

“What are you doing here, Mr. Jayden?” asked Haidar without changing his annoyed expression.

Yes. That figure is Jayden Xavier, a man that Haidar hates. Even just looking at it made Haidar’s blood boil instantly.

“Dad, who called him here,” said the middle-aged man–Thomas–making Haidar suddenly looked at his father confused.

“What?”

“Why do you look so surprised? Don’t you two have a project together at the Alatha Center?” asked Thomas.

Oh shit! Haidar forgot about it. He was too busy with Hera that he forgot that his partnership with Jayden was still going on. Haidar should have cut off the relationship before his father found out.

Thomas brought Haidar and Jayden to sit on the sofa. It was uncomfortable to have to talk while standing. Especially business.

“That’s true, Dad. And—”

“That’s great, Haidar. You didn’t do anything wrong to invest your stake in Jayden,” Thomas cut in and then Jayden laughed. Only Haidar and Ridwan stood there like idiots who didn’t know anything.

“What do you mean Dad?” asked Haidar.

“Alatha Center is now the most sought after place by many people, causing the selling price of the place to skyrocket. And when I heard that you also took part in being an investor, it was a very wise decision. I’m proud of you, son!” Thomas patted Haidar’s shoulder taking all his pride while continuing to laugh happily.

Haidar looked at Jayden who was smiling faintly there. How could he miss something like this? If it’s like this, it seems difficult for Haidar to cut off their cooperative relationship. Moreover, his father already knew, Haidar was sure that his father would not want to let go of this cooperation just like that. In fact, he was the one who would help Jayden complete the project. “Didn’t Father teach me?” said Haidar reviewing a fake smile. “I have to be smart to find a partner who can be profitable for me.” When he said that Haidar looked at Jayden with a smirk. But Jayden didn’t seem bothered at all.

“Yes, you are my son,” said Thomas. “Mr. Jayden, please take care of everything well. If you need anything you can contact me,” continued Thomas glancing at Jayden.

“Sure thing, Mr. Thomas. Don’t worry I won’t let you down,” said Jayden, bowing his head slightly.

What a sly man. Haidar thought. He never thought at all if Jayden could go this far in defending his dream. Even he didn’t hesitate to attack Haidar at his weakest point.

So now what should Haidar do?
