Chapter 1090 Miscarriage
So, is my own family conspiring with outsiders to betray me?
Scarlett couldn't bear such a blow; her legs gave way, and she collapsed onto the ground.
The room was filled with shards of glass she had shattered. As soon as she sat down, her legs were
immediately cut by the sharp fragments, and blood gushed out profusely.
Yet, she seemed impervious to pain, laughing wildly as tears streamed down her face relentlessly.
“Justin, how could you be so heartless? Even if you don't love me, even if you don't want to see me
scheming against you, you didn't have to be so ruthless. I love you deeply, yet you treat me so poorly,
injecting me with some stranger's sperm. How can you be so heartless?”
A cold smirk played on Justin's face as he mocked, “When did I ever inject you with some stranger's This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.
sperm? It was clearly you.”
Scarlett's laughter grew even crazier, and the tears streaming from the corners of her eyes became
even more torrential.
She couldn't fathom, even in death, why all her efforts failed to earn even a fleeting glance from this
man.
Not only did he refuse to look back, but he also treated her cruelly, shattering all her hopes.
She had lived for so many years, yet she had never encountered such a heartless person.
“I was wrong. I shouldn't have met you, shouldn't have fallen in love with you. If I could do it all over
again, I would never let you into my heart again, to hurt me at will.”
“Wonderful,” Justin said coldly. “If it weren't for you, Veronique and I would have been together long
ago, living a fulfilled life. If it weren't for you, my wife and child wouldn't have suffered so much. Meeting
you was the biggest disaster of my life, so please do me a favor and stay away from me in the future.”
Scarlett slowly stifled her laughter, her pupils reflecting a profound lifelessness devoid of any focus.
She awkwardly caressed her slightly protruding belly, her face showing a hint of menace, her features
gradually contorting.
Her gaze swept around the surroundings, finally landing on an iron rod used by the security guard.
“Since it's not your child, there's no point in keeping it. It's better to destroy it now and make a clean
break.”
As her words fell, a streak of determination flashed across her eyes. Then, abruptly, she reached out to
grab the rod. Lifting her arm, she then brought it down with all her might.
A heart-wrenching pain began to spread from her lower abdomen, quickly coursing through every limb
and bone in her body, causing her to tremble slightly in agony.
Yet, she seemed to feel nothing, her hand rising and falling, striking her abdomen over and over with
force.
A child of unknown paternity, an illegitimate child, doesn't deserve to grow within me. I want to destroy
it, to annihilate it.
“Haha, I initially thought it was a time of captivating romance where a couple was deeply in love. Little
did I know, it was all but a dream, a fleeting illusion. In the end, it all amounted to nothing, nothing at all,
haha.”
Scarlett seemed to have lost her mind, striking her own belly while laughing hysterically.
Before long, the floor was drenched in dark, black blood, winding and twisting in a sight that was
shockingly alarming.
Justin stood still, his face devoid of any expression. Yet, the fingers hanging by his side subtly trembled
a few times.
With some difficulty, he averted his eyes, refusing to look at her in such a pitiful state.
Everyone has their obsessions, but pushing oneself to this extent is truly not worth it.
He modestly believed he had no extraordinary qualities, yet this woman was willing to do anything to
win him over. In the end, it all boiled down to her vanity.
That was because she couldn't bear to see him stay with Veronique. Hence, she repeatedly made
grave mistakes.
If she could calm her mind and carefully consider, she would realize that she wasn't absolutely
dependent on him, nor should she have ended up in this state.
“Mr. Justin, the people from the Fletcher family have arrived.”
The sound of the security guard's report from outside brought back Justin's wandering thoughts.
He glanced back at Scarlett one last time, then strolled out of the security room.
The Fletcher family sent over the head butler, a man in his forties or fifties, who was calm and
reserved.
“Mr. Xuereb, I was sent by Mr. Raiden to pick up Ms. Fletcher. May I ask, how is she doing now?”
Upon hearing that Raiden had sent him, Justin immediately put aside his concerns. He succinctly
relayed to him the events that had transpired in the Xuereb family.
After hearing this, the head butler nodded and responded, “It seems that Mr. Raiden's prediction was
accurate. Before I came here, he also instructed me to take her straight to the psychiatric hospital. She
needs proper mental treatment.”
A faint glint flashed in Justin's eyes. He figured Raiden must have guessed that he would reveal the
whole truth to Scarlett. Upon hearing it, Scarlett would be greatly devastated, possibly even suffering a
mental breakdown, and would need to seek psychiatric help.
Although Scarlett was malicious at heart, she was fortunate to have a good brother who protected her
time and again.
Hopefully, after experiencing this heart-wrenching pain, she can transform anew and strive to be a
better person.
“Fine, take her away. From this day forward, she and I have nothing to do with each other.”
Upon learning about the events that transpired in the Xuereb family, Bailey immediately felt a sense of
satisfaction and silently applauded Justin.
If Sylvester had the same skill as Justin, he wouldn't have been played by a woman to such an extent
that he even lost his beloved girl, as well as the child in her belly.
When dealing with such a third party, one must act swiftly and decisively, showing absolutely no mercy.
Otherwise, this kind of pity will turn into a double-edged sword, hurting oneself and the ones they love
at the same time.
“Ms. Bailey, Mr. Hollett is here, and he wishes to see you. Mr. Zeke is asking if you would like to meet
him. If not, he'll simply order his men to kick him out and close the doors to all visitors.”
Bailey flashed a cold smile.
Speak of the devil, and he shall appear.
He has arrived just in time.
Ha, I can guess why he's here to see me even without giving it much thought.
"No, how dare this scoundrel inquire about Rainie's whereabouts?"
"Is it just because he's handsome?"
Bailey wondered when she would have the opportunity to release her anger towards Rainie by
disfiguring his face.
"I don't want to see him. Let my brother kick him out immediately."
"Understood," the housekeeper replied and left.
Upon reflection, Bailey realized that she couldn't let that scoundrel off so easily. She had to take action,
even if it was just to hurl a few harsh words at him to provoke a reaction.
With that in mind, she set aside the brocade and needlework she was working on and confidently left
the room.
After exiting the mansion, she headed straight to the main house and finally encountered Sylvester in
the reception room.
"Bailey, I'm sorry..."
Sylvester began with an apology.
Bailey couldn't help but chuckle. "You haven't wronged, deceived, or insulted me, so why are you
apologizing?"
With a cautious expression, Sylvester asked, "Bailey, where is Rainie? Can you tell me? She's in a
dangerous situation right now. At any moment, those reporters could find her. I need to send someone
to protect her."
"Hah." Bailey laughed as if she had just heard the funniest joke in the world.
"Am I dreaming? The esteemed heir of the Hollett Group actually has a moment of compassion?"
A hint of embarrassment and discomfort flickered in Sylvester's eyes, but in front of Bailey, he dared
not show his anger or raise his voice too much.
"I genuinely want to protect her. Please, Bailey, tell me where Rainie is. I beg you."
Without saying a word, Bailey casually picked up the teacup from the table and forcefully splashed its
contents onto his well-defined face.
