He tapped his slender fingers lightly on the table for about five seconds. Rebecca was getting a little anxious. Then he said, “Okay.”
Upon hearing this, Rebecca immediately breathed a sigh of relief.
“So, Brother–in–Law, we’ll see each other tonight.”
After Rebecca finished speaking, she walked out of the office.
She closed the door and a smug smile appeared on her lips.
If she clung to George, he would only become tired of her and she’d get nothing in the end. But if she took the initiative to take a step back and she only asked for something that George could easily give, at least she wouldn’t offend him.
Then as long as she tried hard to make George bored with that little b*tch Sigrid, she would still be the winner!
She didn’t need to take George back. All she needed to do was to let Sigrid be abandoned.
“As long as Sigrid lives worse off than me in the future, I am the winner.“–
Rebecca left proudly on her high heels. Sigrid, who had been searching for a long time in the corridor but still couldn’t find the lounge, was walking in her direction and Rebecca met up with her.
Sigrid felt a little embarrassed, but Rebecca smiled gently as if nothing had happened before and said, What do you want to eat for dinner? I’ll go back and ask Auntie to buy the dishes you want.”
“Nothing.” Sigrid replied.
She couldn’t think of the name of the dishes at the moment, but Rebecca interpreted her words in a different way. It was that she enjoyed lots of delicious food with George and she didn’t care for the dishes of the Vincent family at all.
Rebecca clenched her fists, but the smile on her face became more gentle. “Sigrid, since things have developed to this point, I have something to make it clear to you. In the future, everyone can live a better life. I have no feelings for George. Since I started dating him we’ve been pretending in front of others. He doesn’t even like to touch me. It’s just that Dad always asked me not to offend him, so I never dared to break up with him.”
“About the matter with Edward… I’m sorry, but I think it wasn’t just my fault. When Edward was with me, he mentioned more than once that he felt very bored with you. He said you were too conservative st xually. In such an era, it was true that you made the man suffer a lot regarding his physical needs when you were dating.”
Sigrid frowned. If there had been no mention of Edward, she felt that she could have stayed calm when she faced Rebecca. But Rebecca had not only mentioned him, but she also spoke openly about those things Why did Sigrid now have the feeling that it was somehow her fault her boyfriend had cheated on her?
“I think that you and George are very suited to each other regarding this.” Seeing Sigrid’s sullen expression, Rebecca smiled proudly. “Dad told me before that after marrying into the Toland family. I must have a baby as soon as possible and I must try my best to have a son. Presumably, when you took my place, he whispered the same to you, right?”
Sigrid bit her lip. She knew that Rebecca was being sarcastic – the insinuation was that Sigrid was just a stand–in for her, and a fertility tool. She knew in her heart that Rebecca did not have good intentions and
