Swept Into a Fairytale Marriage

Swept Into a Fairytale Marriage 96

Chapter 96 What a Coincidence

It had been a while since Germaine had felt this happy. Her lips couldn’t help but curve upward, and her eyes sparkled with joy, resembling a young girl in love.

She laid her suitcase open on the carpet in the walk–in closet of her apartment. Although she had many nice outfits, she rarely had the chance to wear them. This made it difficult to choose which ones to bring for this trip.

She was filled with excitement for this business trip.

After much deliberation, she finally picked out her clothes and prepared her perfume and jewelry, pairing them with three different pairs of shoes. She hoped to present herself as the most dazzling presence in front of Adrian.

Later that evening, in the master bedroom at Floral Spring Residences, Farrah opened her suitcase and began to pack after finishing her ravioli.

Adrian watched her with a puzzled expression. “What are you doing?”

“Starting tomorrow, we don’t need to report to the office every day. I’m going out to seek inspiration,” she replied, packing her things. “You don’t need to worry. I won’t return before you do. Just send me a message when you’re back.” Material © NôvelDrama.Org.

She added with a smile, “Grandpa won’t suspect anything if he sees me leaving with my things.” Her expression was innocent and harmless.

Adrian didn’t say anything, but his heart felt uneasy. Did she really not care about Sierra? Did that mean she did not care about him either?

He had eaten ravioli earlier and was now preparing to sleep, which allowed her to pack without interference.

The next morning, the rain continued to fall, and the temperature had noticeably dropped.

Adrian and Germaine were seated together in the back seat of the Lamborghini.

Kenneth was driving them to Harmony Hills. It was a village still under development.

Germaine had dressed particularly softly today, wearing a simple makeup look with a black spaghetti strap maxi dress and a white V–neck knitted cardigan that elegantly accentuated her neck

Her earrings were chosen with care, giving her a strong artistic vibe

But in Adrian’s eyes, she looked no different from before.

He didn’t spare her a glance, focusing instead on the laptop resting on his lap as he reviewed a set of data. The way he appeared when working made her heart race.

Perhaps the scent of her perfume was too strong. On this rainy day, he actually rolled down the windows, leaving Germaine feeling exposed and awkward.

She turned to him. Mr. Locke, have you had breakfast?

“Mm.” He didn’t look up

She retracted her gaze, falling silent. The dynamic between men and women required mutual willingness.

Otherwise, if only one party became emotionally involved, it could lead to an uncomfortable situation.

After a lengthy journey, they finally arrived at the only guest house in Yerrington Village. Kenneth helped them unload their luggage. Then, someone came out to greet them and showed them to their rooms.

As with the previous business trips, Germaine was assigned a room next to Adrian’s since there was much work to coordinate.

Watching Adrian walk into his room without a backward glance, Germaine felt the distance grow between them. It had been like this ever since Farrah’s appearance.

This made her feel sad, and she regarded Farrah as an eyesore.

Soon, Kenneth completed the check–in process and stepped out of the hotel, where he spotted Farrah getting out of a cab. He was momentarily stunned before walking over to her.

“Kenneth?” Farrah exclaimed, surprised to see him while carrying her suitcase. “What are you doing here?”

“Ms. Tate, did you follow us all the way here?” Kenneth asked, somewhat astonished.

“What?” She looked innocent. “Why would I follow anyone? I came here to find inspiration. I heard many old houses are waiting to be demolished in this area!”

Having worked with Adrian for a long time, Kenneth had learned to read people’s expressions. From Farrah’s eyes, he could tell she wasn’t lying.

So, this really was a coincidence.

“Let me help you check in.” Kenneth bent down to take the suitcase from her, his face filled with a kind smile. “Please, right this way.”

Farrah quickly realized what was happening. “Okay, thank you!” she said, hurrying after him. “Is Adrian here too?”
