One-Hundred Fifty-Six: Pregnancy and Kids Part 2
Leah
So far, being pregnant hasn’t been that bad. I have been nauseous, but so far, no vomiting. Thank god.
I remember poor Kylani and what happened when she was pregnant with the twin. I mean, she got hit
with both morning sickness and the stomach flu at the same time. We had our first ultrasound a few
weeks ago, and the doctor said that everything was going well. It is still way too early to tell what the
sex of the baby is, but that’s ok. I do know that there is only one. I had the doctor make sure since
Mykayla got a surprise.
“How are you feeling baby?” Marcus asks.
“Very good actually,” I tell him.
He has been really good so far. Thankfully, he has not been too overbearing. Well, not too overbearing
yet. I am sure that is coming at some point. I am just starting to show. Marcus leaves to do something
with Jason and security. I really don’t care. I decide to walk over to the packhouse and see what crazy
shit I am missing. I walk in the back door, and all is quiet. I walk into the kitchen and there is Araya
cooking. Mitchell, Seth, Brighton, Xion, and Royce are sitting there waiting for whatever it is she is
making. I swear I am not sure how we feed all these guys and don’t go broke buying groceries. These
guys are all bottomless pits.
“If they start bothering you let Mykenzie and Kylani know and they will make them disappear,” I tell her.
“We are not bothering her.” Seth snarks.
“Has she told you that you are not bothering her?” I ask.
He doesn’t have an answer for me. Besides, does he really want to argue with a pregnant woman? I
am hoping he is smarter than that.
“Hey Seth, Heaven,” I tell him.
“I hate you.” He grumbles.
That shuts him up, and he folds his arms across his chest and pouts. That is still a sore subject for him.
I keep walking and rub my small bump. I haven’t felt the baby move yet, but the doctor says that it
should be soon. She is not sure when I will actually have the baby. She figures somewhere between
five and nine months. Shifters aren’t pregnant as long as everyone else. I am not sure if I should be
happy about that or not. I head down to the rec room cause I can hear noises coming from there. It
sounds like kids are playing down there. I was right. All the kids are down here. Kylani has her three, as
does Mykayla, Mykenzie has Xaydyn down here, and Bryn has her twin down here as well. Nymyra is
also down here. I have a seat beside Nymyra, and she hands me a bottle of water.
“Why are they all here and not outside playing?” I ask.
“They wanted to play down here.” Mykenzie answers.
“Besides it’s a good area to let these six roll and crawl around in.” Bryn adds.
“Plus we can block the entrance with Phantom,” Kylani says.
I have to laugh at that. Mainly because it’s true. Phantom is lying in front of the door, so all the kids are
trapped in there. One might say that Xaydyn and Jordyn could just appear anywhere they want. That
would be true, but with Mykenzie and Kylani their powers don’t work. This is nice, and it’ll be fun to add
mine to this little group. I do like the fact that mine will have the same age. I know Nymyra is excited
about the same thing. She doesn’t have any siblings.
“So are the twins crawling yet or still trying to figure it out?” I ask Bryn.
“They just figured it out last night. Donte saw it and got so excited.” She replies.
I can only imagine how comical he looked when that happened. Honestly, I have a feeling that Marcus
will be the same way. He might look all big and scary, but he is a giant teddy bear. He hates it when I
tell him that. I can only imagine how he would act if this were a little girl. Oh god, that’ll be fun. I bet he
will act like Kaleb.
“Damn it Phantom, get out of the way,” Chris says.
“He is keeping the kids in the room so shut up,” Kylani tells him.
Chris finally makes it over Phantom and sits between Nymyra and me. He starts rubbing her belly,
which is still perfectly flat, by the way. He is so ridiculous. Nymyra slaps his hand away, and I laugh.
Yeah, these men are all big softies. I bet the rest of them start filtering down to this room to see what is
going on. I can’t wait for mine to be born.
Nymyra
If Chris rubs my stomach one more time, I will chop off his hands. Seriously I am not even showing yet.
He is absolutely insane. I am sitting in the bathtub relaxing in a nice hot bath. I love Chris, but he is
already getting annoying. I hope this doesn’t get worse.
“Is that water too hot?” Chris asks.
“No, go away. I am trying to relax.” I tell him.
Here we go. Maybe if he comes close enough, I can drown him. I will have to ask either Mykenzie or
Kylani if that is possible. I have a feeling that it is not possible, but there is always hope. He does leave
me to my bath. Thank god.
I am sitting on a stool watching Araya cook the next day when Seth, Mitchell, Ashton, and Xion come
walking in. They join me. I know they are looking for food. They always are. Whatever Araya is cooking
is not settling well with me and I take off running. Damn it I was hoping that I could get lucky like Leah
and skip the morning sickness shit. Obviously, I don’t have that kind of luck. I barely make it to the toilet
before breakfast comes up. When I stop vomiting all my internal organs I sit back against that wall.
“Here they help with nausea and vomiting.” I hear Rye say.
I look up and he has a bag full of what looks like hard candy. He hands me one of them, and I pop it
into my mouth. It doesn’t taste bad, and I can feel my nausea dissipate. I smile at him and take the bag.
“Are you ok?” Chris asks.
“Yeah now that I have these,” I tell him.
He smiles at his best friend and helps me up. I keep a tight handle on my new favourite things.
“One should last 24 hours so that bag should last a while. If you do run outlet Aunt Imyra know and she
can get more.” Rye tells me.
“Sometimes he can be helpful,” Mykenzie says as she walks by.
“Oh fuck off Mykenzie.” Rye snarks.
All I see is her flip him the finger, and I hear her laugh. I just roll my eyes at them. This is so normal that
it doesn’t even warn a response. Very few others could get away with telling her that.
“I wonder if I could get away telling her that?” Ashton asks.
“No.” Chris deadpans.
He is right; if Ashton says that to her, she will probably turn him into something which might be funny. I
head back to the kitchen, and Araya looks at me.
“It is ok. This is what happens.” I tell her. Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.
It is not her fault. It is not her cooking. All my senses are just hypersensitive now. I hope mine isn’t that
bad. Leah is so lucky. It will all be worth it when I get to hold this little one.
