Chapter 31: (Xavier's POV)- That's My Girl... Not
"Julie, we're starting the game come on, worst-case scenario, you cook lunch with someone," I
groaned speaking to her lowly so the other two didn't hear. I knew Aubrey was gonna win, that's why I
suggested the losers cook lunch thing, I just had to make sure I won so she'd be stuck with me.
"Ready?" Aubrey smiled as the countdown began. She sat on the edge of her seat, of course, ready to
win.
Julie groaned before asking me which button to press. Well, this will be entertaining. Julie screamed as
she failed to get the kart to move forward while Aubrey's shot through with a rocket start. We were
about twenty seconds in and Julie already tried thrice to hand me the remote and get me to play for
her. Now that it didn't work, she was trying to get Peter to do it.
"It's your game." He put his hands up in surrender, pushing her off of him slightly.
"Wouldn't be surprised if you played with the ladies," I mumbled under my breath, not missing the glare
Aubrey shot at me.
"At least my lady knows how to play." Peter glared as Aubrey nudged him.
"Boys, be nice," she demanded before starting the second lap while Julie was halfway through her first.
Aubrey slipped up once and fell into second before getting back to first, crossing the finish line with
flying colors.
That's my girl.. not, but I wish she was.
Julie gave up, tossing the remote to me. I finished the race for her before Aubrey picked the location for
us. "Play fair," she said while Julie groaned and went into the kitchen while Aubrey shifted and sat
between us as the countdown began.
We both shot through with me leading in first and him coming in second. We both had our fair share of
screaming at our characters when we occasionally got inked or got a banana and we both were
practically standing as we kept edging closer and closer to the edge of the couch.
"Come on!" Aubrey cheered, keeping who it was for a secret.
It was for me, something just told me it was, maybe it was her shoulder gently nudging mine. We
finished off an extremely close tie, me winning of course. Material © NôvelDrama.Org.
"Good game," I offered him a hand to shake which he slapped away, making me smirk in victory. The
three of us headed into the kitchen to see Julie scrolling through her phone.
"So," Aubrey took a seat. "Will you be making us lunch?" Aubrey teased, using her words from earlier.
Peter rolled his eyes before grabbing some spaghetti after Julie told him which cabinet it was in.
"We'll wait there." I gestured to the living room with my eyes before grabbing her arm, taking her with
me.
"Congratulations on winning the game, Parker." She turned to me as we seated ourselves on the
couch.
I smirked. "There are more games I'll be winning, love," I teased before we glanced over to see Julie
climbing Peter while he tried to make the spaghetti in peace.
"Would you mind?" he hissed at her.
I rolled my eyes while Aubrey smirked at me. "You have one hell of a girl," she laughed.
"I do." I locked eyes with her, that was intended for her and she knew it, her surprise gave it away.
"You wish, Parker. But you don't." She walked up and headed up the stairs and into my room.
I don't, but I do want her, and I will have her. I followed her up and entered my room to see her trailing
her finger along my bookshelf, looking for a book to read. "Would you kiss me if you had the chance?" I
blurted out my thoughts without thinking, groaning under my breath as the words fell out. "I mean,
kissing me doesn't mean you fell first." I shrugged, trying to get her to kiss me to give me a little hope.
"Why would I kiss you if you haven't proven to be the better guy yet? My kisses are very precious,
Parker. Why waste them on you?" she smirked as she walked up to me, stopping just an inch away.
"Prove it and I'm yours," she repeated her words.
I closed my eyes and let out a frustrated sigh, she's really testing me right now. "It's one kiss, Aubrey. It
won't mean you lost," I groaned not realizing how desperate that made me sound.
"Are you saying you want me to kiss you, Parker?" She arched an eyebrow at me.
I rolled my eyes at her tricks not because they were pathetic, they weren't in the slightest, but I rolled
my eyes because they were working.
"Tell me, Xavier," she whispered, "How badly do you want me to kiss you?" Her finger traced my jaw.
I inhaled a sharp breath before losing it and lifting her onto the desk, my hands beside either of her
legs. "Your boyfriend is downstairs." I pointed out.
"So is your girlfriend, yet here you are, asking me to kiss you," she teased.
I sighed, "I need to know if you would react that same way you used to if I kiss you. Would you?" I
asked.
She remained silent, looking straight into my eyes. I could see the small golden flecks in hers as her
pupils dilated.
Only one way to find out.
I placed my hand on the back of her neck and pulling her lips to mine. At first, she didn't react and my
heart dropped, but then she kissed back, just as passionately as I did. As I suspected, the kiss turned
passive-aggressive and soon enough, purely aggressive. It consisted of biting, her trying to push me
away, my grip on her waist tightening, and more.
Once I got the response I wanted, which also meant I now found my proximity to be her weakness, I
pulled away only to find her looking at me with confusion. "Again?" I asked.
She nodded almost immediately and without hesitation, I locked lips with her again.
Sadly, we were soon interrupted by Peter's voice, "Lunch is ready!" he announced.
We groaned in sync before she rolled her eyes and pushed me away, hopping off the desk and heading
downstairs, not before stopping in my doorway and saying, "Wait thirty seconds," she demanded before
heading downstairs.
Once she left the room, I let the smile form on my lips. She still liked me. I still had a chance. I was
being cocky all this time but those kisses confirmed it, I will win.
Once the thirty seconds were over, I headed downstairs, making sure I didn't look too disheveled, just a
little so he would notice. I went downstairs and saw her sitting with Peter on the barstools while Julie
was sitting on the ones opposite, calling me over to sit beside her.
I resisted an eye roll before putting on a fake smile and taking a seat next to her. "So, how long have
you two known each other?" Julie questioned Peter and Aubrey. I noticed Peter smirk at me before he
began doing the talking.
"We go way back, more than friends."
I didn't miss Aubrey squirming in her seat.
"Yeah, unfortunately, things didn't work between them," I smirked while glaring straight at Peter who sat
directly in front of me. "He cheated," I stated.
"All is forgiven," Aubrey cut in, looking at Peter with a smile.
I watched carefully as he reached out, placing his hand over hers which was resting on the table.
"What about you two?" Peter directed his question at Julie.
I decided to let her talk, who knows, maybe it'll rile Aubrey up. "We've been on and off, it gets
complicated between us," Julie lied while grabbing onto my hand which I suppress the urge to tear
away.
I watched as Aubrey eyed our held hands before holding Peter's a little tighter, making my jaw clench.
We were all just sitting in an aggravating silence, waiting for one of us to snap at the other for taking
their guy or girl.
I could see the top of Peter's arm move closer to Aubrey behind the table and I knew what was going
on.
I straightened up just enough to peer over the edge before snapping at the sight. I saw his hand resting
on her thigh, ever so disgustingly inching up. "Alright, hang out over. You can leave." I directed to Peter.
"Both of you." I then turned to Julie who was sitting in utter confusion.
"I'll call you later?" Peter asked her before grabbing his keys.
She hesitantly nodded before he left.
What the fuck was that?
