The Ceo’s Contract Lover

The truth

Isaac’s face turned ashen, and he rushed toward Alaina.

Everything happened so suddenly that he could not react in time.

And when he came to his senses, there was already a long cut on Alaina’s forearm.

“Alaina, are you okay?” Isaac asked, his voice trembling with heartache.

“I-I’m fine,” Alaina nodded, though the pain was clear in her eyes.

Her arm continued to bleed, prompting Isaac to call out urgently, “Somebody, call an ambulance.”

Shocked, Emilia dropped the knife from her hand.

The blood drained from her face when she realized the gravity of her actions.

Everyone knew Alaina was the apple of Isaac’s eye and that he treated her like a treasure.

Emilia’s heart trembled when she thought about how she had inadvertently touched his Achilles’ heels.

She watched as everyone in the house scrambled to send Alaina to the hospital.

Overwhelmed with fear and guilt, he slipped away and retreated to her room.

She locked the door, hoping Isaac wouldn’t settle scores with her if anything happened to Alaina.

Meanwhile, at the hospital, Alaina was rushed to the emergency ward.

Alaina had RH negative, a rare blood type, and having lost a lot of blood, she required an urgent blood transfusion.

However, the medical team faced a critical situation.

The doctor informed Isaac that the blood bank did not have Alaina’s blood type and that they needed to arrange the blood quickly to stabilize her condition.

Understanding the gravity of the situation, Isaac acted swiftly, contacting all the blood banks in the city.

To his dismay, he received the distressing news that there was a shortage of blood.

Isaac extended his search to every hospital, hoping for a different outcome, but the results remained grim.

“Dr. Moore, if we can’t find her blood type, I’m afraid that Mrs. Moore’s health will be in grave danger. Please find a donor immediately,” the attending doctor informed him with a sense of urgency.

Isaac’s heart sank, and a wave of despair washed over him.

There was a buzzing sound in his ears, and his body shook.NôvelDrama.Org content rights.

“I’ll donate my blood.” A voice cut through the tense situation, like a glimmer of hope.

Isaac’s eyes lit up, and he turned around to look at the kind-hearted person.

However, when he saw who it was, his expression turned extremely ugly.

Nina stood in front of Isaac.

She shifted her gaze at the doctor and said calmly, “I have RH-negative blood. I can transfuse blood to her. Take mine.”

As a human, Isaac could choose to be selfish, but she could not. Especially when it concerned someone’s life.

“Okay,” the doctors immediately started to proceed.

Isaac felt a lump in his throat and said in a hoarse voice, “Thank you.” Nina nodded at him and went with the nurse.

Once the blood issue was resolved, the doctors proceeded with the operation.

However, when the blood was transfused into Alaina’s body, instead of showing signs of improvement, her condition took a turn for the worse.

“No.” The head doctor instantly sensed that something was amiss. “There’s a problem. Stop immediately.”

After the operation concluded, Isaac saw the doctor emerge with a grave expression, and he inquired, “What’s wrong?”

“Dr. Moore, you are a doctor yourself, and I thought you knew direct relatives couldn’t transfuse blood to each other,” the doctor said angrily.

Fortunately, they had the most experienced medical team and saved Alaina.

Isaac was flabbergasted. “What?”

He thought he must have heard incorrectly.

“It was so dangerous of you to let your daughter donate blood. Thankfully, my team noticed it on time. Or else…” The doctor’s words hung in the air.

“S-She’s not my daughter,” Isaac stammered, his voice barely above a whisper.

A bold thought flashed in Isaac’s mind, and his heart trembled in fear.

Alaina’s operation was successful, and she was transferred to the general ward.

Isaac arranged for experienced nurses to attend Alaina.

Once her situation had stabilized, he sought permission from the doctor to access his private lab.

Knowing Isaac’s status, the doctor agreed.

Isaac took the remaining blood that Nina had donated and personally performed a DNA test in the lab.

After a few hours of anticipation, the results were finally out.

With the DNA report in front of him, Isaac reached out to take it with a trembling hand.

As he scanned the results, it was as though a mountain had collapsed over him, and he slumped in the chair.

The report showed that the relationship between him and Nina, the father and daughter, was 99. 99%.

Shock coursed through Isaac’s veins, and he could not believe what he was seeing.

He had personally performed the DNA test and monitored the entire process, hence there was no chance of tampering with the documents.

Isaac felt the world around him spin, and he rubbed his tired face, still in a state of disbelief.

How could it be possible?

No matter how bad Emilia’s character was, she was still his daughter.

However,

Suddenly, he recalled the strange feelings he had experienced towards Nina, panic gripped him.

The weight of the truth proved too much for Isaac to handle.

His mind was flooded with countless questions, but he did not know where to start.

No, he had to get to the bottom of it!

Central Prison, Country N.

The atmosphere inside the prison was gloomy.

In one of the prison cells, a woman lay on the ground. Her body and clothes were unkempt, and she appeared disheveled, even worse than a beggar.

An officer knocked on the metal door and informed her she had a visitor.

The woman stirred and lifted herself off the cold floor.

In the visiting booth, the woman immediately covered her eyes from the light that reflected on her.

Adjusting her vision, she took a seat to see who had come to visit.

She froze when she saw the person opposite her, then suddenly burst into a fit of laughter.

The laughter was so intense that tears streamed down her face.

Seeing the tense expression on the man’s face, Kristen stopped laughing. “Isaac Moore, you’re 25 years late,” she said, shaking her head.

Hearing her words, Isaac shut his eyes in agony.

Alaina and Kristen were actually cousins from Alaina’s maternal side. Despite being family, their paths had taken different routes.

As the daughter of a tycoon, Alaina had it all-the beauty, the brains, and an impressive background.

She was the campus belle and attracted a multitude of admirers and suitors.

On the other hand, Kristen was born into an average family.

Having grown up together, Alaina and Kristen were as close as best friends, and Alaina never treated the latter poorly.

Though, on the surface, she acted as her best friend, she secretly harbored jealousy towards Alaina for the attention she received.

Taking advantage of their kinship, Kristen entered the modeling industry and carved out a smooth career for herself.

However, no matter how successful she became, her life couldn’t compare to Alaina’s.

It seemed as though, in Alaina’s presence, she was destined to be her shadow.

And this jealousy soon turned into hatred when Alain and Isaac became a couple.

Isaac was the man Kristen had a crush on even before he met Alaina.

After they became a couple, Kristen felt Alaina had stolen her love.

This fueled Kristen’s resentment, and she sowed discord between the couple to drive them apart.

However, her attempts remained futile.

Until one day, when Kristen took Alaina to a brothel that was disguised as a bar.

If her father’s men had found her even a minute later, Alaina would’ve been ra*** by them.

And that was exactly what Kristen desired. She wanted to destroy Alaina’s innocence and drive a wedge between her and Isaac.

However, when Isaac learned about the entire incident, he not only stripped Kristen of her career but also reduced her to a beggar.

What he didn’t know was that the same woman he thought wouldn’t pose a threat came back to bite them.

The revelation hit Isaac like a punch to the gut.

“How did you swap the children?” he questioned, with difficulty. As far as he knew, when Alaina gave birth, Kristen wasn’t even in the city.

Kristen laughed, a bitter sound echoing through the room.

After her life was destroyed, she lived each day in hatred.

When she learned Alaina was pregnant, a twisted thought formed in her mind. Desperate to inflict pain on Alaina and Isaac, she tried to get pregnant as well.

When Nina was born, Kristen also gave birth to Emilia prematurely.

The two girls were born only a week apart.

Taking advantage of the time, she changed her appearance and sneaked into the hospital, successfully swapping the two babies.

Everyone knew what had happened next.

While Kristen’s daughter enjoyed a life of luxury, Alaina’s daughter endured torment at Kristen’s hands.

Fueled by hatred, Kristen subjected Nina to both physical and emotional abuse, going so far as to sell her.

“Are you not afraid that I might make life difficult for your daughter?” Isaac asked, with a killing intent in his eyes.

“Who cares,” Kristen replied indifferently, as if the well-being of her daughter did not matter to her.

Kristen never wanted to be a mother.

The reason she gave birth to Emilia was simply to get back at them. If it weren’t for her thirst for revenge, she wouldn’t have brought Emilia into the world.

Hell, she couldn’t even remember who Emilia’s father was.

During that chaotic period, she wanted to get pregnant as soon as possible and hence slept with different men.

And Mr. Santiago was just one of them, a name she had taken to bear responsibility for Nina’s birth.

Hearing her careless words, Isaac was so furious that his entire body trembled in anger.

He really regretted not strangling this woman back then.

If not, his daughter…
