The Lycan King

Chapter 77. War 2

Chapter 77. War 2

Avalyn

Nik and I stood on the terrace of the house as we looked at the peaceful ocean. The moon casted a

beautiful reflection of itself on the dark sea. Cold winds blew and I zipped up my jacket for more

warmth.

The waves slowly increased and I caught the sight of a boat. My breath hitched. They are here.

"The remaining group of fifty?enemies are going to attack our house. They will come through the sea

on rowing boats so no noise is made to alert anybody. Those fifty men will be divided into groups of

two. The first group will have thirty men and the second group will have twenty men." Nikolai said.

"You both," Nikolai addressed Max and Natalia, "along Gonzalez and his most loyal and trusted men

will come in the second group. The house has three automated snipers on top of it and can shoot three

bullets at a time before it takes a break of fifteen seconds to reload and?it?shoots?again. Those thirty

men will?be?a suicide squad. They will go to the operating room and turn off the power of the entire

house.?This will cause the?snipers to turn off along with the?lights?in?the entire house, which will be

the signal. The mind- link between these thirty people and Gonzalez and his troupe will be shut

because the great Alpha doesn't want to hear the screams of a measly suicide squad." Nikolai told Max

who nodded.

Slowly, more boats came into vision. I counted a total of five boats. Which meant each boat had six

men on them. Once all of them turned around the corner so that they were out of the line of sight of

anyone from the other coast, I raised my hands.

"Wait." Nikolai shook his head as he stared straight ahead. No, he?glared?straight ahead.

The boats were coming nearer to us. A couple of more minutes and they will reach the shore. Once

they were a couple of feet away from the shore, Nik said lowly, "now", his voice instantly getting lost in

the wind.

"When the boats of the first group reach the shore, Phase Three will began and they will never make it

past it." Nikolai explained. "Avalyn and I will be the ones executing it. Once the boats are about to

reach the shore, Ava will light them on fire along with the men on it. Their ashes will be mixed in the

water and with the sand and no proof of what happened will remain. Only one boat will make it and the

snipers will shoot them all once their feet touches the sand. This will make it look more natural and

ward off suspicion."

I raised my hands, palms towards them and imagined the boats burning. I imagined the fire licking the

wooden boats and engulfing the entire boat and the people in it along with it.

"Avalyn?" Nikolai hissed.

My eyes snapped open and I saw the boats almost on the shore. My eyes widened and I tried harder.

Why can't I do it now? I burned down that beach house without even meaning to and now I can't set fire

to these boats when I desperately want to!

"Concentrate, Ava." Nikolai whispered.

I nodded and concentrated harder. I squeezed my eyes shut and pressured my brain and my powers to

work.

"Any time now, Avalyn."

My eyes snapped open and I saw the men getting of their boat and running towards the house. The

three snipers shot down a total of nine men each but the rest kept running.

Oh my goddess.

"Calm down Ava." Master caught my hand.

"Set fire to the men. See the fire lighting the men." A couple of men instantly caught fire. "See the fire

consume their entire body and killing them."

Ear piercing screams of men on fire rose in the air. I saw the fire consume their entire being before they

disintegrated into ashes and became one with the sand.

I focused harder of lighting the ones who didn't catch fire too.

"Stop." Master ordered and I ceased. "It's not working fast enough. Take out your gun and start

shooting."

As ordered, I removed a gun from the holster and took my aim before shooting. Nikolai grabbed a gun

from my belt and started shooting. His aim was much better than mine. These men were still at a

considerable distance but they were quickly getting here.

I was only able to kill four people while all of Nik's aims met their mark and he ended up killing six

people. We were out of bullets and seven people, who had spotted us were running towards us.

"Let's go kill them." Nik said and then jumped. I followed and landed on the ground, in a crouched NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.

position before I jumped to my feet and ran towards them.

Two men changed their original direction and shifted into their wolves as they charged at me.

A smirk formed on my face at their arrogance. Men always tend to underestimate women.

I brought both my hands up and prayed to goddess for this to work. I may have issues with burning

things, and people but I sure as hell didn't have any problems in these basic things.

They both froze and and without slowing my speed I reached them I plunged my thumbs into a wolf's

eyes, and squeezed his eyes out and twisted my arms, snapping his head. He fell limp at my feet.

Nik growled and I saw that he had killed two wolves and fighting off three. I evened the odds by

freezing two in their place. Then, I focused on the first wolf and started into his terrified eyes as I

stabbed my claws into his chest and searched for his heard. "Never underestimate a female." I caught

his heart and yanked it out before I threw it on the ground.

I turned around to see Nik looking at me proudly. "That's my girl."

I grinned.

"Turn these wolves into dust and clear the blood. No proof of them should remain." He ordered. I

nodded and swiped my hand around us and the dead bodies of the wolves turned into dust and mixed

with the soil and the blood disappeared.

"Good girl. Let's go now." We ran back to the house.

"After the first group is dead, we will turn off the power of the house, signalling you all to come." Nikolai

told Max and Nat. "You all will come in and spot Ava and I in the living room just as we spot you all.

Then, we will run to the pack house and you all will chase after us. Avalyn will keep them at a safe

distance as we run to the location of the last phase which is Phase?Four."

We entered the house through the back window and ran upstairs to the operation room. There was a

large red lever which Nik pulled down and the lights turned off. We made our way back downstairs.

The house was pitch black and it was the first time I was seeing it like this. It unnerved me. But what

unnerved me was that he would be here. In my home. In our home. He will taint this place too.

But I'm going to kill to kill him. It should be fine.

"Phase One is completed without any issues." Nikolai broke the silence.

A smile formed on my face. "I feel like everything will go smoothly now." I was feeling very optimistic for

some reason.

"Let's hope so." He replied. I realised that the tables have turned. Earlier, I was the one who was

thinking negatively and Nik was the one to reassure me but now its the opposite.

"I trust you, Nik. And I trust our family and our pack." I squeezed his hand.

He didn't reply to that but held my hand tighter. I didn't feel the need to break the silence, this was the

was the calm before the storm. The calm before shit hits the fan.

We both silently watched the boats near the shore and plant themselves on our beach. We both moved

forward till we were standing at the back window and we watched them. I caught Max's blond hair and

his large frame. The moon light reflected in his baby blue eyes before he winked at us. Without a care,

he winked!

Anyways, taking that as my cue, I pointed towards them and screamed, "Nikolai, look!"

My eyes caught Emilio's and my breath caught in my throat.

"Run!" Nik growled before he grabbed my hand and pulled me out of the house.

Snapping myself out of it, we both dashed out of the house. Once we were out of the doors, Nik shifted

into his fur and I jumped on him. But I got on backwards so I could watch our enemies and held on to

Nik for dear life.

And then he took off.

It was scary, sitting in this position since I had no practice but I trusted Nik and we only had to go

straight. After half a mile, we had to run across the large training groung to get to the pack house. We

still had a good couple of miles to go. But since it was open land, they could see us running and would

follow us easily.

In the distance, I saw the group of twenty wolves run after us. And the group of wolves was led by a

grinning Max. But it wasn't his usual happy grin. This was filled with a little darkness and a lot of crazy.

But it was all Max.

He maintained the proper distance between us and whenever a wolf would try to cross that line, I would

throw him in the back and Max's grin would get wider.

"Run, fast, Nikolai." I fake cried as I caught Emilio's eye. I even let out a fake shiver.

His wolf licked his lips and he ran faster and crossed the imaginary line I had made on either side of

Max to judge what a proper distance was.

To his horror, I raised him high in the air before I slammed him into the ground, hard.

I could feel that the wolves running after us were terrified. They did not understand what was

happening, why people were springing in the air and flying behind them. And that made it all the more

amusing to me.

Suddenly, a growl tore through Nikolai's throat. An angry growl.

'What happened?' I asked him immediately.

'Andrei fucked up and now?Dimitri is in trouble. We need to get there. Fast.' He gritted and then ran

harder. I'm sure they could handle it. We could handle it. I trust them.

Was Nikolai right in worrying?

I flicked two more wolves behind the line.

I hoped Dimitri was alright. And everybody with him. And I hoped Andrei got there with his team quickly.

Nikolai released a loud growl which literally shook the ground he was running on.

It was a message.

A message that we are here.
