The Mafia Bride (Katrina and Silas)

Chapter 1

Katrina's POV

My grip on my flower tightened as I stared straight ahead.

Today was meant to be the happiest day of my life, yet still, I remained the unhappiest in the room, a stiff smile on my face. "Smile properly, you make it seem as if you're being Forced." Marcos, my father cautioned me and I shifted my gaze to him. But I was getting forced.

I didn't dare say this in front of him though, I could walk down the aisle with a bruise on my face and no one would bother.

After all, this was the mafia and anything could happen.

His arm was linked through mine as we waited for the procession to start.

Please, Lord, I need a miracle to help me escape this wedding.

The door was pushed open and we started our walk down the aisle, Chris, my supposed fiance, stood right next to the priest with a sickening smile on his face.

Marcos was the son of a business partner, he had been charged with millions of sex offenses, but he managed to escape the law each time

Why? Because of his father.

I felt disgusted by the thought of spending the rest of my life with him, but I did my best to control it.

Marcos handed me over to Chris, and I immediately pushed his sweaty hands off my waist

"We'd get rid of this attitude after we're married, Chris whispered to me and my face blanched.

I swallowed thickly, my heart beating wildly in my chest.

This was the exact definition of going from the frying pan to the fire

I needed to do something to stop this wedding, but what?

It was already too late to try anything and if I dared to turn around to run, my back would be riddled with bullets.

Forcing a smile on my face, I zoned out of the priest talking not wanting to be here.

"Do you Chris, take Katrina to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to protect from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do you part, according to God's holy law." "I do"

Chris's reply was immediate, a jolt to reality and a reminder that this was happening..

Do you Katrina, take Chris to be your lawfully wedded husband, to have and to obey from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poores, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do you part, according to God's holy Lavy A lump formed by my throat as I stared at Chris silently. He had a smirk on his face as he waited for what my answer would

I fought the tears that threatened to spill, finding it hard to speak

"Katrina" The priest asked after a few seconds of my silence.

A tear slipped down my eyes as I stared at him.

He knew I was being forced to do this, every one of them did.

But they all watched for their sick amusement, staring at me in fake pity.

"Katrina... Father called from where he sat, I could hear the threat in his voice.

T-LI found it hard to say those words.

I couldn't live my whole life this way.

At that moment, the door pushed open and everyone turned to look at who had interrupted the wedding.

A man with shoulder-length salt and pepper hair walks slowly into the church, his presence immediately drawing attention.

His hair, a striking mix of black and grey, was packed into a low ponytail, his grey eyes staring coldly ahead

He held two guns in his hands, the metallic glint of the weapon adding to the tension in the room.

Each step he takes echoes softly in the quiet church, heightening the sense of uncase I felt.

Before any words could be said, he raised his hands opening fire in the church.Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

His arrival was soon followed by the presence of many more and bodies dropped to the floor immediately.

Father and his men immediately brought their guns out, letting out fire.

Seeing the bodies littered on the floor and the unending bullets, Chris immediately pushed me away from him, running off to save his life.

"To protect huh?" I asked sarcastically, watching him run out of sight.

Using the commotion to my advantage. I pulled off the heels I was wearing and sought a way to escape.

My dress ripped as I started to run but that didn't bother me.

A bullet whizzed past and I turned around to see who had shot.

The man who walked in earlier stared at me coldly, the gun in his hands pointed at me.

I picked up my pace as I ran out of the church, another bullet whizzing past.

1 heard footsteps behind me as I ran into the parking lot.

What do I do? What do I do?

I looked around me, confused about what to do next and where to hide

"I wouldn't do anything stupid if I were you, A deep voice said and I whirled around immediately. It was the man that walked into the church earlier.

I watched in fear as he reloaded his gun while walking, keeping his eye on me the entire time.

Turning around to run, I gasped when I tripped over my gown, falling to my knees.

I tried not to cry as something pierced into my palm, my eyes watering.

"I told you not to do anything stupid,"

Inching back as he walked closer to me, my back came in contact with a car tire and I knew then that I was fucked.

"Who-who are you?" I stuttered staring up at him.

I felt stupid for even asking that, but I was terrified. He stopped in front of me, pointing his gun at me.

Is this how I die?

"Good night Princess," he said coldly, cocking the gun.

I closed my eyes, bracing myself for death.

When a few seconds passed and it didn't come

come, I opened my eyes to look at him.
