The Woman From Hell

Chapter 2715

The masquerade ball ended amidst laughter and joy.

Shannon and Arthur seemed to have got along very well. They even privately made an appointment to meet each other for the second time. However, since Arthur was an idol, if Shannon were really interested in him, she would inevitably face a lot of problems in the

future. Still, this was for a later time.

I myself drank a lot tonight. Although I was a little tipsy, I was still sober, just a little red in the face.

Theo glanced at me while driving and shook his head slightly. "You didn't actually have to drink so sincerely."

"I was happy. It's okay since it's once in a while." I smiled in response to his words.

Looking out the window, at the flashing lights, I could not help but let my thoughts float.

I thought again of what Sylvester told me at the dance.

The truth about my mother...

"What are you thinking about?" Theo's words broke my thoughts.

I wanted to discuss this with Theo and since he had asked, I told him about it honestly, "Sylvester came just now. He asked me to go back to Yard mansion so that Silas would tell me the truth about my mother's death." Sure enough, Theo frowned after he heard that. His grip on the steering wheel had also tightened significantly.

Noticing his actions, I could not help but ask. "What's wrong?"

Theo shook his head. "Nothing. What did you reply to him?"

"I thought he was tricking me into going back to Yard Mansion again just like last time. I don't really want to go, but I feel like..." I was feeling conflicted, and my brows were furrowed.

Theo read my thoughts and continued where I left off, "Do you think there's something fishy with Millicent's death?"

"How should I put it, what we learned back then always felt a bit too far-fetched. She knew of my existence at the time, how could she so easily have taken her life? That is unless she really suffered a heavy loss."

Nibel told me that the night before his mother's death, Silas had helped Thomas enter her room. We later confirmed that this was false. Since it was fake, what was the heaviest blow my mother was dealt with?

I felt my head hurt and cradled it in my hands.

"Don't think so much about it first. IfConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

you want to know, go to Silas. I'll do well to position ourselves and bring people to come to rescue you if they refuse to let you go."

Theo's words gave me a great sense of security. I looked at him, feeling moved. "Alright. I'll think about it again."

After all the lessons I had to learn in the past, I no longer dared to act so rashly. Sylvester's words might just be him trying to lead me into a trap.

We arrived home.

We entered the house quietly when suddenly, a name flashed through my head.

"Gareth Zeke, he should know the truth."

Theo was startled by my voice but his expression only shifted minutely before he was calm again. "But he won't necessarily tell you."

That was true. I had sought him out so many times before, hoping that he would work with me to go up against the Yards but he never agreed. He was a very stubborn man.

"But if I tell him I'm Millicent's

daughter, won't he change his

opinion of me and then tell me the

truth? He's John Lovere and I'm his

daughter, he would tell me, no?Ì

was holding out on this little hope.

"Perhaps. You could try."

Truthfully, after I had learned that he was John Lovere at that time, I had actually been quite excited. He was his biological father after all.

"Alright. I'll go visit him tomorrow."

I was still confused as to why he went to the hospital back then too. I wanted to resolve all my doubts this time.

"Sleep early tonight." Theo helped me retrieve my towel.

"Alright."
