Chapter 2735
I was inexplicably nervous entering Yard Mansion.
The housekeeper took me to the living room. She opened the door and let me in. "Miss Lane, please come in."
"Thank you."
I caught a sweet perfume scent that only women wore when I entered.
Was there someone else here?
I looked toward the sofa and saw a beautiful woman sitting there looking at me. Her red lips were pulled into a bright smile. "Sylvester, Miss Lane is here."
She knew me.
Sylvester turned around. "President Lane, you're here."
I went up to them, my gaze falling on the woman. "This is..."
"Hello, my name is Rooney Taylor," she introduced herself.
"My girlfriend," Sylvester immediately added.
I had never heard about Sylvester having a girlfriend before so I gave her a nod. "Hello, I'm Wanda Lane."
"I know. Sylvester mentioned you, you're his sister," Rooney said without hesitation.
I was stunned. So, that was how Sylvester had been introducing me. There was a special feeling in my heart.
Sylvester glared at Rooney, seemingly displeased with what she had just said before then turning to me. "Show me the project proposal."
"Okay."
I handed over the project book. Sylvester still looked very serious. "I see this is why you're inconvenienced. I didn't expect you to have a girlfriend, President Yard. I was quite surprised." Rooney smiled sweetly. "President Yard isn't too fond of me. He won't allow us to be together to protect me. He told Chairman Yard that we broke up but since he's abroad now, I came back." "You look so beautiful, how could he not like you?"
"It's probably because of my
background. I'm not from a wealthy
family. I can't bring monetary

benefits to the Yards. Chairman Yard, he..." Rooney didn't continue but funderstood what she meant.
Silas was still the same as he was back then after so many years. He would sacrifice his daughter for the Yards, he would also force Sylvester to many someone else, and that
person would be bound to be able to spur the Yards on.
Whether it was Sylvester or their mother, they were all just chess pieces to Silas. He was that heartless.
"I understand. Now you can be together so you could consider it a good ending." I did not let Rooney continue.
Sylvester had also been focused on the project book and did not hear my conversation with Rooney.
How was I supposed to check things out now that there was one other person present...
Seeing my look of anticipation, Rooney said to me, "Do you feel a little bored, President Lane? Why don't we go for a walk?"
"Okay." I agreed without thinking.Material © of NôvelDrama.Org.
This was a great opportunity.
Rooney stood up and then led me to the garden as she spoke, "You should actually be more familiar with this place than me, right? President Lane."
"I've been here a few times, but I haven't been able to look around more closely," I answered truthfully.
"You're his sister but you don't come
back. Is it because of Chairman
Yard?" was momentarily left
speechless when she asked this. Did Sylvester tell her everything?
"Uh, yes. I can't really accept Silas."
Rooney nodded emphatically. "Hm, yes. He indeed makes it difficult for people to accept him."
I could see people moving about upstairs from where I was. They were frequently moving in and out of one room.
I pointed to the figure upstairs. "Are they moving stuff?"
"Oh, that's Chairman Yard's room. Sylvester is having it and the study tidied up," Rooney said quietly.
Silas seemed to have mentioned that he would not be coming back after he goes abroad but his room ought to be left untouched, no? Did Sylvester hate him that much?
