Chapter 557
Yvette, who was writing a song, also heard the screams. She walked out in confusion and went to the hall.
Even from a distance, she saw Yara in the living room, covering her face with one hand and pointing at Noah with the other.
"Did you do it on purpose?" Yara shrieked. It was understandable if it had only happened once or twice.
Noah still had a confused and pitiful expression. "Grandma, what's the matter? Why are you yelling at me?"
Wendy shielded him behind her. "Madam, Noah definitely didn't do it on purpose. He is the best child there is."
Yara didn't believe it. "This is obviously alcohol, not iodine. My face feels like it's on fire!"
"Noah hasn't even been to kindergarten. How can he tell the difference between iodine and alcohol?" Wendy thought that Yara was too inflexible.
She had even claimed to be Noah's grandmother. How could a grandmother be so inconsiderate to her grandson?
Yara thought that Wendy was right. The child in front of her looked only four or five years old.
However, when she thought about her face being ruined by Noah, she really found it hard to like him.
"Forget it. I don't want to waste my time on you. Where's Yvette?" Yara finally stopped putting on an act.
Wendy was about to answer her when Yvette walked in from outside and looked at Yara coldly. "Is there something you want from me?"
Yara looked at Yvette's current state. The right side of her delicate face was wrapped with gauze. When she walked in, her momentum was completely different from before. Yara didn't want to show weakness to her at first, but considering that she would spend the rest of the time in prison, she had to mellow her tone.
"Yvvy, don't get me wrong. I only came to see how your injury is."
"I'm fine. I won't die." Yvette's expression turned icy when she thought about how her injury had been caused by Yara's darling daughter. "If there's nothing else, please leave."
Yara choked. "Is this how you talk to
your mother? If it hadn't been for me, you wouldn't have been born. I
wen out of my way to see you, but you're kicking me out?"
Not wanting Noah to see how disgusting people could be, Yvette asked Wendy to take Noah upstairs.
"How many times do you want me to tell you that I have already returned that life to you, and now I don't owe you anything?"
"You think that can happen just
because you say so?" Yara raised her hand and held Yvette's arm, looking her up and down. "If you take back the evidence, I'll consider you
returning my grace orth to
you."
Yvette didn't think twice as she pulled her hand away. "Don't even think about it. As far as I know, criminal like you cannot leave a fixed place after being released on bail, right? Don't blame me for what happens if you don't leave now."
Yvette picked up her phone while speaking. Yara's gaze turned anxious when she saw that Yvette was about to call the police. "You brat, how dare you threaten me?"
Since she was young, Yvette had agreed to whatever Yara said. But now, she kept challenging Yara's authority again and again. Yara raised her hand and started to snatch the phone from Yvette.
Yvette didn't give in to her. Yara was no match for her. As the two fought, she took several steps back and fell to the ground.
She wanted to get up, but her lower abdomen started to cramp. She couldn't get up because of the pain.
"I regret giving birth to you!" Yara glared at Yvette. "I should have let you die back then."
Yvette didn't care about what she said. "Sorry to disappoint," she stated. "Of course, if I had a choice, I would never choose to be your child."Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
Yara got up from the ground. Seeing how determined Yvette was, she covered her face and left unwillingly.
After she left, Yvette asked Wendy about what had just happened.
Noah was in the children's room, happily playing with building blocks. He seemed to have forgotten the incident just now.
