Chapter 119
Tiffany was in a dilemma as she handed over the results to the doctor without daring to glance at it herself.
After a quick look, the doctor announced, "You're pregnant."This is the property of Nô-velDrama.Org.
Tiffany's mind was spinning with disbelief. Even though she had mentally prepared for the possibility, she still couldn't quite believe it. "Are you sure, doctor?"
"Of course. Your HCG levels are quite high. Can you recall when your last period was?"
Tiffany fell quiet.
Noticing Tiffany's hesitation, the doctor asked softly, "Are you considering not keeping the baby?"
Still reeling from the previous question, Tiffany was blindsided by this one.
The decision to keep the baby or not hadn't crossed her mind at all.
The doctor passed Tiffany the documents and said softly, "Maybe you should head home and have a talk with the baby's father.
"If you decide to keep the baby, start taking folic acid supplements regularly and keep up with your check-ups. But if not, it's important to come to the hospital early for the procedure. The longer you wait, the more it could affect your health." Discuss it with the baby's father, as in Vincent?
Taking the paperwork, Tiffany nodded and said, "Thank you, doctor."
Tiffany walked out of the hospital with her mind consumed with worry. She hailed a cab to Teresa's apartment. She was so lost in her own world that she didn't even notice William following her.
Seeing Tiffany, Teresa was both surprised and delighted. She quickly prepared some fruit for her to eat.
Taking a deep breath, Tiffany couldn't help but notice the stronger scent of herbal medicine lingering in the air. "Teri, are you still into those herbal remedies?"
Teresa nodded, explaining, "Yeah, still at it. My mother-in-law insists I need to stick to it for at least a month before I can try for a baby. She believes it'll boost the chances."
As Tiffany looked into Teresa's eyes, she could feel the yearning within her. "Do you actually enjoy being around kids?" she asked.
Teresa didn't hesitate to respond, "Oh, I love them." There was a hint of nostalgia in her voice.
"Maybe it's because I'm getting older. I used to find children noisy and a bit of a hassle," she continued. "But ever since we started trying for a baby, I've found myself drawn to them more and more. I'm just hoping these herbs will work and help me have my own child."
Lost in her thoughts, Tiffany realized she, too, had a soft spot for kids. If given the choice, she would want to keep this baby.
"Tiff?" Teresa gently shook her hand, pulling her back from her thoughts. "What's wrong? You look like you've seen a ghost. Is everything okay?" Tiffany chuckled softly, shaking her head to change the subject. "Oh, it's nothing. By the way, I remember you used to take birth control pills." "Yeah." Teresa nodded, reflecting on the past.
"Back then, I was all about work and avoiding the idea of having kids. But it's been ages since I stopped taking them. Erand I have been trying for over a year now, and those pills expired a while ago. Thanks, for reminding me. I'll get rid of them later."
Tiffany nodded, realizing that the pills she had taken were indeed expired.
"Yeah, it's been tough. I wonder if it's because of all the pills I used to take. Now that I'm trying for a baby, it just doesn't seem to happen," Teresa sighed, giving Tiffany's hand a gentle squeeze.
"You wouldn't believe how many
women I've met at the hospital who
struggle with infertility. Some have natural issues, but most are young women who didn't take good themselves when they were
vere of
younger. They either took too many pills or had too many abortions. It's really sad."
"Wait, abortions can cause infertility too?" Tiffany's surprise was evident. She wasn't familiar with the topic.
"Of course. Abortions can cause significant trauma to a woman's body."
...
Walking past a pharmacy, Tiffany hesitated for a moment before deciding to go inside and buy some folic acid tablets.
Back in her dorm room, Tiffany poured herself a glass of water, planning to take one of the folic acid tablets. Suddenly, a hand grabbed her wrist. Startled, Tiffany turned her head. "William?"
With a stern expression, William took the folic acid tablet from her hand and tossed it into the trash. "You can't keep this baby."
Tiffany was shocked. "How did you know—"
"I saw you at the hospital," he cut her off.
Holding her shoulders, William said, "Tiffany, you have to get rid of this baby. I'll go with you."
