Chapter 22
Chapter 22
As the demolition process would be effective in Asiatic City shortly, Penny had to look for a new place for her family.
In the afternoon, Nathan and Penny came to Riverside Gardens’ sales center to scout for a new apartment.
Riverside Garden was one of the most notable estates in Channing. It was unquestionable that the residents here were all rich and famous.
Nathan was interested in this place because the new apartments were well-renovated and furnished. Therefore, it would save the family quite time and trouble.
Other than that, the family was in such a rush that they didn’t have the option to purchase a cheaper apartment and wait for the interior to be done.
This time, the family also went in casual wear. In some way, they did not look the part - the usual deep- pocketed customers.
One of the agents still greeted them cordially out of professionalism, “How are you today? I’m Gina. I am the assistant manager here. May I ask if you are interested in making a purchase today?”
Nathan answered in a laid-back manner, “Yeah. What do you recommend?”
“Here we have deluxe apartments and a few villas. Which type is your preference?”
Penny had seen how Nathan spent money before. Although she understood that there were plenty of funds in his card, she still did not want him to splurge.
Hence, she answered for Nathan, “A villa is a bit extra. Let’s go for an apartment.”
Right after she finished her sentence, they heard a mean voice, “Heh. Weren’t you the big shot who bought two BMW’s in a row? What, you can’t even afford a villa now? It looks like someone’s got a tight budget to keep, and it was just a show earlier.”
The whole group turned around to the source of the voice and found a familiar face.
It was Lily. Wrapping her arms around a fine man, she was the seller who had just been laid off earlier the day.
It turned out that Lily’s boyfriend was the sales office’s manager, Mason Hayes.
Lily had come to complain about her day right after she had left her old job. She was surprised to see Penny’s family again when they walked past.
For Lily, it was ironic to hear Penny’s request for an apartment after what had happened earlier. She had to take advantage of the situation.
Nathan warned, “Haven’t you learned your lesson?”
Lesson?
Lily’s eyes were full of bitterness.
She sneered, “Don’t you bring up the sore subject. Who do you think you are? Buying two BMW’s doesn’t mean shit! Do you know who my boyfriend is?”
Lily bragged as she pointed at the man in a suit, “I hope you’re ready for this. He’s Derek Harvey’s only heir, Mason Harvey. Namely the future president of Oceana Corporation.”
Derek Harvey’s son?
Everyone in the family had an inexplicable expression upon hearing that piece of information.
Nathan had just broken Derek’s leg not long ago after his attempted sexual assault on Penny.
The whole family still remembered how Derek climbed up to the sixth floor with a walking cane to beg for their forgiveness.
How ridiculous was it, that Lily was now threatening them with Derek’s son’s title? Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
Nathan and Penny’s family tried to hold in their peals of laughter so much that their faces had looked wry.
From Lily and Mason’s perspective, Nathan appeared as if he was intimidated.
Mason glimpse at Nathan arrogantly then inquired, “Baby, is that the guy that’d got you fired?”
“Who else could it be? Although I did plan on quitting now that we’re together, having him do that was still infuriating.”
“Let me take care of it for you!” Mason’s face turned solemn as he turned to Nathan, “Get on your knees! You owe my woman an apology!”
