Chapter 320 Spending a Lifetime With Him in Advance

Josephine looked dazed at that moment. Confused, She gestured, “So, I just have to kiss you, right?”

“You can try it out.”

The woman thought for a moment before leaning in and planting a kiss on the man’s cheek.

Once she was done, she gazed at him eagerly, as though she was asking him if he felt better.

“I want you to switch sides.”

Then, she repeated the same question, this time in gesture form. “Are you feeling better now?

Lewis’ eyes were fixed on Josephine’s face the whole time. A moment later, he weakly opened his mouth to answer her question.

“Yes.” His deep voice was slightly hoarse, but it was also laced with a hint of affection.

Naturally, Josephine was unable to detect such an emotion in her current mental state. All she heard was the word “yes.”

She also thought that Lewis was no longer hurting, so she turned around to grab him some food.

Once they were done eating, they found themselves with nothing to do in the yacht cabin. They could only sit down and space out together. In a way, they looked like they were enjoying the peace and quiet together.

Josephine, who was initially racking with anxiety, started to relax. She ran to the shore and attempted to fish, but she failed to catch anything. Instead, she ended up falling into the water.

Lewis just sighed at the sight of a drenched Josephine returning to his side.

Thankfully, a clean bathrobe was still available, so she took off her wet clothes and put on the bathrobe.

When Lewis spotted Josephine hanging around in just the bathrobe, his expression became a mosaic of unreadable emotions.

It was a good thing that they were the only ones stranded here.

Josephine grabbed an armful of dirty laundry and washed them with seawater at the shore. Then, she brought the drenched clothes to the yacht so that she could hang them there to dry. Once she was done with her chores, she spent the rest of the day watching the clothes flapping in the wind. The sun soon set, signifying the end of the day.

Lewis spent the next five days recovering from the injury. Only then did he manage to regain

The food supply on the yacht was almost depleted at this point. If he were to continue resting, both he and Josephine would most definitely die from starvation.

Josephine had spent the last few days surviving on only crackers, so she had been famished for quite some time now. There were plenty of fish in the sea, but alas, she was unable to catch

even one.

On the sixth day, the young woman woke up due to starvation. She did her best to withstand the hunger as she started checking Lewis’ injury for him.

The wound was healing well. It didn’t get infected, nor did it become inflamed. In fact, it was showing signs of forming a scab. Still, the man couldn’t exert much force when he moved, or he might risk tearing it open again.

Josephine already ran out of disinfectants, so she could only wash Lewis’ wound with the last bottle of mineral water.

The medicinal herbs the young woman had laid out under the sun a few days ago were all dried and shriveled. Josephine used the blade to grind everything into powder before scattering it over Lewis’ wound.

Since the man had mentioned that his wound couldn’t come in contact with damp medicinal herbs, this was the only way of speeding up the healing process.

Once Lewis’ wound was dealt with, he put on a bathrobe before clambering to his feet and getting off the yacht.

This was his first time leaving the yacht after so many days.

Josephine trailed behind him, watching as he started heading toward the sea.

“Give me the blade.” The man extended a hand while beckoning Josephine to pass him the blade.

The latter pressed the blade immediately into his palm. As Lewis stood in the water, he instructed Josephine not to move as well.

Soon, a couple of fish could be seen swimming in his vicinity. Having timed his moment right, Lewis lashed out with the blade in hand and stabbed one of the fish accurately.

Josephine widened her eyes at the marvelous display of skill. Then, she bounded over to Lewis happily and picked up the dead fish before raising it to show him his catch.

A wide smile was pasted on her face, her eyes now filled with nothing but admiration for the

man.

The young woman stood joyfully beneath the radiant sun, her locks gently caressed by a playful breeze that made her hair dance behind her. The azure sky and the bright blue sea provided a picturesque backdrop, harmoniously accentuating her purity and innocence. At that

moment, she resembled a fairy who had accidentally wandered her way into the mortal realm.

Lewis unwittingly smirked when he noticed how delighted Josephine was. He tilted his chin in her direction while saying, “Here you go.”

The latter nodded before returning the blade to Lewis. Then, she returned to the shore and placed the fish into a crate.

That crate was dismantled from the yacht some time ago because of its decent sealing properties.

Lewis caught a few more fish before throwing it into the crate. After returning to the shore, he said to Josephine, “Let’s go check out the rest of the island.”

She nodded in response before grabbing another empty crate and trailing behind the man.

Upon reaching the woods, Lewis instructed Josephine to start foraging for wild vegetables. As a result, she was able to procure a lot of them.

The young woman gestured, “How are you able to tell that these are wild vegetables?”

Lewis was currently using a long branch as a walking stick. At that time, he was in the midst of limping into the depths of the woods. “I don’t know any of them. They are most likely safe to

consume.”

Josephine’s jaw went slack as she stared at him in shock. However, despite her astonishment, she did not refute what he had said.

Since the man claimed that those vegetables were safe to consume, then that must be the case. She trusted every word he said.

The pair ventured into the woods for some time after that. The greenery around them was now lush and vibrant. Some of the trees even had fruits hanging from their branches.

However, those fruits were inedible.

There was a persimmon tree in the distance. Lewis used his branch to point at it. “Those fruits are edible.”

The moment he was done speaking, Josephine put down the crate in her hands before darting toward the tree.

“Don’t climb the tree!” Lewis called out from behind her.

Josephine stood under the tree with her head raised. She extended her arm, but she still couldn’t reach the persimmons. Then, she tried jumping a few times, only to realize she was getting nowhere.

The only solution left was to climb the tree and pick the fruits.

A frown appeared on Lewis’ face when he saw her starting to scale up the tree. Then, he walked

briskly in the direction of the tree with the help of his branch.

“Josephine, get down right now!”

The aforementioned woman looked down at Lewis while hugging the tree trunk tightly. When she noticed the rage written all over the latter’s face, she blinked mutely before reaching out to pick a few persimmons. Finally, she slid down the tree carefully.

Once Josephine landed on the ground, she felt Lewis’ hand gripping her cheeks. “I never said. you can climb the damn tree in the first place! So, you refuse to follow my orders now, hmm?”

His grip wasn’t strong, but the young woman’s cheeks still hurt a little.

She gazed at Lewis aggrievedly while hugging the persimmons to her chest. For a moment, she looked quite pitiful.

“Whatever. Let’s go back.” The man released his hold on her before leading her out of the woods.

Josephine quickly grabbed the crate and trailed after Lewis.

She stared at his weakened silhouette. The makeshift cane he clutched in his hand transformed his appearance, lending him the air of a 70-year-old. Caught in the spell of the moment, she slipped into a momentary trance.

Suddenly, the young woman felt as if she had already lived a lifetime with Lewis.

They were the only ones in this godforsaken place. No one would be able to disturb them at all. Compared to her previous life in Elysium, Josephine realized she was a lot happier right now. despite having to starve every day.

Life here was exactly the same as what she imagined in the past.

Upon returning to the beach, Josephine washed the vegetables thoroughly with seawater since that was her only choice.

Meanwhile, Lewis checked the yacht’s condition.

The fuel was depleted entirely, seeing as Josephine didn’t know how to turn off the engine, which resulted in the engine running for 24 hours. On top of that, the generator was busted because it overheated. As such, the situation had taken a turn for the worse. Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.

For some reason, Josephine was secretly pleased when Lewis told her that the yacht had broken down.

That way, they wouldn’t be able to leave the island at all, which meant they could stay here permanently.

Josephine liked it here because Lewis was stuck with her.

She could watch the sunrise and sunset with him every day. He could only talk to her as well.

They could go fishing, foraging, and exploring the woods every day.

Soon, Lewis started a campfire on the beach to roast the fish he caught.

Those were saltwater fish, so they were quite flavorful other than the fact that they smelled. fishy. At the very least, they were seasoned with sea salt.

An iron plate dismantled from the yacht was placed atop the campfire. It served as a makeshift pan to sauté vegetables with.

Then again, the vegetables Josephine had foraged didn’t have anything to sauté with, so Lewis decided to boil them with water instead.

“Here you go.” He passed a roasted fish to Josephine

The latter accepted the fish happily before biting into it. All she tasted was scales, forcing her to spit everything out immediately

Upon noticing what happened, Lewis said, “Ah, I forgot to remove the scales. I’ll be sure to do that next time. ”

He grabbed another roasted fish and removed the scales quickly with the blade Finally, he gave it to Josephine again.

She sat on the ground and hungrily devoured the cooked fish, gripping the stick that pierced through it

It had been a long time since she last had meat, so she felt the fish tasted terrific. “Slow down Take care not to choke on the fish bones.”
