Chapter 1225
Theodore was about to stand up to stop Rosalie when someone knocked on the door.
His secretary walked in. "Mr. Spencer, two policemen are here, asking to see you."
Right after she said that, two policemen walked in. "Mr. Spencer."
Theodore approached them, asking, "What's the matter?"
"Do you know Aurora Payne?"
"I do. What's wrong?"
"She's suspected to be involved in a murder case. According to our investigations, she was with you for a while previously. We want to know more."
"Involved in a murder case?" Theodore asked. "Who died?"
"Her ex-boyfriend, Calvin Zabel. His corpse was fished out of the river, and he's been dead for around two weeks. According to our investigations thus far, Aurora Payne was the last person he saw before his death. However, she claims to be with you around two weeks ago."
Theodore instinctively turned to glance at Rosalie.novelbin
Rosalie had nothing to say about Aurora and Theodore being together. She had no reason to be jealous since she and Theodore were divorced. This issue seemed to have nothing to do with her.
"I'll be off, then. Goodbye." Rosalie walked toward the door.
Theodore chased after her. "Wait!"
Rosalie turned around. "What's the matter?"
"Regarding Grandma's will, let's talk more another time."
"I've made myself clear. I don't want the inheritance."
"Why don't you decide after we talk more? This isn't something minor. Even if you don't want the inheritance, you have to sign an agreement to give it up. We still have to meet eventually."
Rosalie pondered for a moment before nodding. "Alright, I got it. We'll talk once you're done on your end."
Rosalie left. When she reached the lobby, she heard Wesley calling out to her from behind.
"Rose, wait."
Rosalie stopped in her tracks and turned around. "Is there anything else?"
"Have you been in contact with Syd recently?"
Rosalie shook her head. "I haven't heard from her in a while."
"Oh, I see. I wonder how she's doing."
"She probably wants to be alone and calm down. I'm sure she hopes that you'll live life well, too," Rosalie said comfortingly.
Wesley smiled bitterly. "How could she be alone? She's with Christopher."
Rosalie didn't know what to say regarding Wesley and Sydney's affairs.
"I won't bother you, then. Go on ahead," Wesley went on.
Rosalie nodded. "I'll be off. Goodbye."
Upon reaching home, she felt exhausted. Coincidentally, Justin was just done coaxing Steve to sleep. He poured Rosalie a glass of water. "How did it go?"
"It was regarding Grandma's will,"
Rosalie explained. "Grandma had her will prepared long ago. She divided her assets into four portions, one of which she left for me, but I don't want it."
Justin didn't ask her why. He knew that Rosalie wasn't a greedy woman.
Rosalien noticed that Justin didn't ask her for her reason, and a strong sense of security came surging inside her.
He understood her, so he didn't ask.
They knew each other very well.
"Oh yes, Rose. I have something to tell you."
"What is it?" Rosalie asked.
"I found the bracelet. It was crafted by a master craftsman in Blencalgo," Justin said as he stood up and retrieved the bracelet. Confused, Rosalie asked, "How did you find it?"
"This bracelet was unbranded but of
outstanding quality. The gems on it were very valuable, too. I guessed that it must be a custom-made item, the only one in the entire world contacted some art collectors and showed them the photo.
"These collectors are usually very familiar with master craftsmen's pieces. As expected, someone recognized the bracelet as the work of a master craftsman hailing from Blencalgo. I followed the clues and found him. His other pieces were in similar style as well, and be liked carving the letter 'Z' on his pieces."
Justin flipped the bracelet around to show Rosalie the carved 'Z' on the other side, which wasn't obvious unless one took a closer look. Then, he showed Rosalie a photo on his phone.
"Look, this is the master."
Aside from the photo, there was a short profile about him. He looked to be past the age of 60.
"If he really were the one who crafted the bracelet, would he know who my parents are?" Rosalie asked; her voice shook.
"Let's ask him about it," Justin said.
