Married To Mr Arrogant

Chapter Forty Five

Subtitle: Getting to know him

Written by: Marvy Hyacinth

“Let’s not bring up the past.”

Anderson muttered lowly.

“Why? Because it’s not fun to you?!”

“Because it wasn’t my fault. It was a mistake.”

Anderson replied low, but loud enough for April only to hear.

“A mistake you say?”

April asked before leaning unto Anderson to say the rest.

“A mistake that you covered up.”

Before Anderson got a chance to reply, Simon interrupted.

“What the hell are two of you rambling on about that the rest of us can’t hear?”

April looked at her Dad, looked back at Anderson, and smiled.

“Nothing Dad. Nothing.”

“If that’s so… Anderson, meet me in my office when the day is over.”

“What for?”

Anderson asked obnoxiously.

“Your wedding with Phoebe of course. We need to decide on the part of this company she’d take over when she becomes officially married to you.”

Simon said casually as if Anderson had already agreed to his whims.

Greg on the other hand wore an elated look on his face.

What he was striving for was finally paying off.

He was finally a step closer to taking over this company.

“Did I ever agree on me getting married to Phoebe?”

Anderson asked amused.

“Why that trash talk?”

Simon asked.

“Because I don’t remember ever saying I’ll get married to Phoebe.”

Anderson replied.

“Oh, you will get married to her.”

Simon said.

“And I said… I have a fiancée.”

“I know… Phoebe.”

“No! My fiancée is standing right over there.”

Anderson said and so saying, pointed at Alexa.

“That nobody?”

Greg asked spitefully

“Yeah, that nobody is where my heart lies.”

Anderson smiled and walked to Alexa.

“Her dad…”

Simon started but trailed off eventually.

“Her dad what?”

Anderson asked confused.

“You don’t understand.”

Simon sighed.

“What did my dad do?”

Alexa demanded.

“And why do you want to know that?”

Simon barked at her.

“Because, duh! He’s my Dad.”

Alexa rolled her eyes.

“I have every right to withhold any information about him. He was my emplo…”

Simon trailed off when he realized he was spilling out what he’d hidden for so long.

“Emplo… Employee?”

Alexa asked confused.

“No. I mean employment seeker.”

Simon tried to cover up.

“You mean my Dad came to seek employment from you?”

“Yes. But that was a long time ago.”

“How long has it been?”

Alexa asked, now suspicious.

“That’s none of your business young ladies.”

“Well…”

Alexa tried to say, but Simon cut her off.

“Just shut your trap up! Anderson, get this filth outta here!”

“She’s my FIANCEE dad, and you must accord to her the same respect you do to me.”

“You lie. Phoebe’s my choice for you, and you will obey me.”

“If not…?”

Anderson challenged.

“Forget about being my son.”NôvelDrama.Org owns this.

“OK.”

Anderson smiled and answered, a lot simpler than what Simon thought he’d answer.

“You accept it?”

“Yes. But do know I know a lot of secrets about you… Including BBG.”

Anderson smiled evilly.

“Are you trying to threaten me?”

Simon asked, trying to hold his composure.

“Take it however you want Lord BB.”

Anderson said and smirked when he saw his Dad shudder.

“Au revoir.”

Anderson smiled at the trio staring at him before walking quickly to Alexa.

“Let’s go.”

Anderson grinned at her and Alexa followed him… Not still understanding the reason why he was doing all these.

Before they walked on, Anderson slipped his hand around Alexa’s and gripped her tightly.

This family surely holds a lot of secrets against each other.

After dropping Alexa at her home, Anderson drove down to his.

Locking the door behind him, Anderson went up to his room, took off his clothes, and went into the shower.

“Today was hectic.”

Anderson breathed.

Suddenly, his mind drifted to what had happened in the supposed ‘Family’ meeting.

Dad’s starting to get on my nerves.

Like it!

Who’s he to decide who I end up with?

Alexa revealed a side of me I never knew I had towards my Dad.

Throughout all my Twenty three years of life, I never spoke against my Dad or refuse to do his biddings… Even when I knew I should have.

Take, for instance, the time he made me hand over Green wears to April.

I knew deep down I should speak up, but I didn’t.

I was arrogant, rude… Name them.

But not to my side.

I enjoyed exhibiting that part of me to My Dad and Mr. Greg…

It was very fun.

I had fun to the extent I mentioned April during one of the replies I gave my Dad in our ‘Talk Off’.

She wasn’t too pleased and wasted no time saying it, she even brought up Peter.

I know you’d be asking (Who tf is peter?) right now, so I’ll tell you.

Peter and April used to date during high school.

He was a poor kid.

How he entered the school was a mystery to other students.

He was unlike April and I but still, April went on with dating him, not caring about his social status and all unlike what she does nowadays.

Then, she was a cute, perfect munchkin …

… Unlike now.

After about a year into their relationship, April complained to me suddenly one day about Peter not treating her right.

As the big bro I was, all caring and protective, I promised to talk some sense into Peter.

I took Peter to the back of school during lunch break to talk to him about the way he was treating April, but we ended up fighting.

Oh did I forget to say this?

Our Dad was very strict while we were growing up, so he sent us to a boarding school on the top of a faraway hill.

So the back of the school was like a death trap if you fell.

Wanting to be cool and all, I avoided exchanging words with Peter, I didn’t engage in a talk-off with him, but when he insulted April and called her a b! tch, I got so mad I forgot we were on a hill and gave him a light push.

But that light push was all it took to end his embarrassing life.

I edged closer to take a look at what I mistakenly did and grew goosebumps all over.

I turned to run to my hostel, but April was standing right at my back all this while.

I needed not to ask her

“Did you see what happened?”

Because of her expression and the way she covered her mouth with both palms trying to stifle her whole emotions, I knew she saw everything.

“April I…”

I tried to explain, but she cut me off painfully.

“… You killed him.”

She spoke immediately her palms left her mouth.

I walked toward April slowly so she wouldn’t get the wrong idea and run off without letting me explain what happened.

“April, it’s not what you think.”

I said taking slow steps towards her.

She shook her head, walking backward as her tears adorned her cheeks.

“April, wait…”

I walked to her faster this time, but that only worsened the situation, making her run away.

“April!”

I yelled, but it was futile anyway.

She was gone!

The school authorities found out about what I did through the CCTV camera situated at the back of the school and summoned my Dad.

He covered up my crime with his money, brought us back home, and had our school here in New York.

That was all that happened, and about Dad… I’ve got him under my control now.

I know a very big secret about him I stumbled upon by mistake.

He won’t be able to dare bug me about my choice of woman ever.
