My Heart only Beats for You (Natalie Godfrey)

Chapter 2272

He had invited Preslie out, but the truth was he had actually kept one detail from her; Tremaine was here to see her.

He was afraid that Preslie would never have agreed to come if she knew Tremaine was here.

Just then, seeing as she was hesitating just outside the door to the private room, he feared that she had already found out.

He made an apologetic face as he looked at her and said, "Preslie, I'm very sorry. The truth is, I've invited you out tonight for something else than just dinner. I have something very important to tell you."

Preslie felt her mouth and tongue dry up.

"Here it comes!"

Was he really going to confess his love for her?

She... she wasn't ready.

"Preslie, I..."

Before he could finish his sentence, Preslie suddenly interrupted him by asking, "Mr. Hawls, do you really think I'm beautiful?"Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.

Sheldon was quiet.

He was very confused. Preslie had chosen the strangest time to ask him this.

"Yes, you are very beautiful," Sheldon said with absolute certainty after looking at her.

Although society wouldn't call her beautiful, in his eyes, she was leagues more beautiful than those other women with thick makeup and horrible attitudes.

Her skin was fair, her eyes sparkled and she had an amazing personality. She was beautiful in every way possible!

Preslie gulped.

Just then, with an unexpected burst of courage, she said, "Mr. Hawls, I've always felt inadequate. I've always thought of myself as ugly, silly and overweight. I figured that even the most ordinary man wouldn't even bother giving me a second glance. But now... I've received such wonderful affirmations from an amazing man like you. I... I'm so very happy."

Preslie's eyes sparkled, "Whatever you ask of me today, I'll agree to anything you say."

She had let it all out.

Even if Mr. Hawls thought of her as desperate, she meant it!

She wasn't being pretentious!

She wasn't going to play any games with him, she was being utterly sincere!

In terms of looks and status,

Sheldon was definitely one of the best out there. She'd never imagine a man like him would ever be interested in someone like her.

That's why every time the thought cane to her mind, she would push it aside.

She didn't dare to think about it.

But now, the fact that he wanted to confess his love to her, it gave her the courage to overcome her shyness and even let her confess her own feelings for him.

Sheldon was pleasantly surprised to hear her say all of that.

He couldn't believe it. "Preslie, do you really mean it?"

He was expecting to face a difficult time in convincing her to help

Tremaine. He never expected her to suddenly be so agreeable, onher

own accord as well!

Turns out calling a woman beautiful made things go much smoother than he had imagined!

"Yes, I mean it!" Preslie replied.

Even though her heart was still beating wildly, her courage kept her going!

Sheldon breathed out a huge sigh of relief as he got her confirmation.

"Seems I hadn't come here for nothing after all!"

Sheldon barely contained his smile as he said, "Preslie, I'm very happy to hear you say that."

Preslie blushed as she replied, "I'm very happy as well Mr. Hawls."

"Then let's go in," Sheldon said, "I should give my thanks to you on behalf of the president." "Okay, let's go." Suddenly, Preslie felt her throat tighten as her eyes widened in surprise. What?!

Thank her on behalf of the president?!

What did he mean?!

"Why is Mr. Hawls thanking me on behalf of the president?" She asked herself.
