Chapter 1375 Keeping It Safe

Chapter 1375 Keeping It Safe

“How much money is there?” Arissa asked Benjamin casually.

“One hundred thousand. The kids say it's money for a dinner treat!”

Needless to say, Arissa was pretty shocked to hear that. Could Regan really have become that generous?

After scrutinizing the woman's face and realizing she was no longer angry, Benjamin decided to probe further.

“So, with regards to this money... Do you intend to keep or return it?”

“Return it? That's impossible!” Arissa instantly protested. After all, the thought of Regan losing money and how upset he must be gave her a lot of satisfaction. Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

Benjamin chuckled and picked up his phone to transfer the money to Arissa's account.

Upon hearing the notification sound, the latter promptly glanced at her phone. Seeing that the message was from Benjamin, she gave him a puzzled look before opening it. However, as soon as she realized it was a bank transfer, she curled her lips into a smile.

“Why have you transferred money to me?”

“This is the money the kids sent me, so now I'm giving it to you. Do you want it or not?” Benjamin asked smilingly as he raised an eyebrow.

Arissa pursed her lips and quickly nodded. “I'll hold onto it for them so they won't waste it on impulsive purchases!”

Benjamin merely laughed and said nothing more. After all, he had always intended to hand her the money he got from the children.

“By the way, how did Regan meet the kids?” Arissa asked as she set her phone down.

Benjamin wasted no time sharing everything he had learned from the principal with her. “It's all because of the school's inadequate management that loopholes were exploited!”

Arissa glanced at the man and asked gently, “Did you scold the principal again?”

“Shouldn't I?” he retorted as he met Arissa's gaze.

The latter shook her head. “Of course you should!”

I wasn't aware of anything when the children were kidnapped, but if I had known, I'd have chewed the principal out!

Benjamin, on the other hand, was taken aback. He had thought Arissa was about to voice her disapproval and reprimand him, but to his surprise, she did neither.

“Exactly! If there's another breach of safety protocols, he'll have to step down as principal!” Benjamin fumed.

Arissa nodded, understanding the need for strict measures in school. “Didn't you assign bodyguards to follow the children?”

“Well, they can't always be sticking to the kids in school. I guess the little ones probably instructed the bodyguards to step aside when they caught sight of Regan.”

Yes. That's the likeliest possibility I can think of. I know how cunning those kids can be.

Just then, Arissa's eyes lit up as she pointed at the lake excitedly. “We've got a bite!”

With a smile tugging at his lips, Benjamin skillfully reeled his line in. Alas, the fish he caught wasn't as big as Darius' catch, so he considered releasing it back into the water.

“This fish is a little small. We should try catching another!”

“It's big enough! Let's go with this. We won't be able to finish it if it's any larger,” Arissa replied. Oh, I think this fish is the perfect size. The kids will be home tonight, so there will be plenty for our whole family.

“All right. We'll take this, then!” Benjamin said before taking the fish off the hook and tossing it into the bucket.

“Let's stop fishing for the day. It's time to head inside,” Arissa reminded.

With that, Benjamin set his fishing rod down, stood up, and walked toward her. “Feeling tired?”

“It's a bit too sunny,” Arissa muttered, squinting her eyes. The lake shimmered under the sun, and she

was starting to feel uncomfortable from staring at it for long periods.

“In that case, let's head back in!” Benjamin said with a nod. Without further ado, he carried Arissa in his arms and strode toward the house.

“You can just push me back...” the latter mumbled while glancing at her wheelchair.

Oh, dear... What if I needed to use it later? That'd be so troublesome.

Benjamin, however, curled his lips into a gentle smile. “But I enjoy holding you in my arms!”

Upon reaching the entrance, he quickly instructed one of his bodyguards to retrieve the wheelchair.

By then, Darius and Shaun were busy preparing lunch in the kitchen, along with Edwin and Mary. It was, without a doubt, a bustling scene.

Arissa wanted to join in the fun and turned to Benjamin. “Why don't you carry me to the dining room? I want to listen to their conversation.”

“Can you sit for so long, though?” Benjamin asked as he lowered his gaze at the woman, clearly disapproving of her suggestion. Eventually, he carried her to the study instead.

“You can keep me company if you're bored!” he said before placing Arissa on the couch and arranging several throw pillows behind her so she could lie comfortably on them. “You can read some books if you like.”

Arissa didn't know whether to laugh or cry at the situation.
